Elliana turned around when she saw Madeline’s gaze fixated on something behind her.

As soon as she turned around, her gaze met with Aditya’s, whose pupils dilated as he looked at the girl he always liked looking so splendid in this dress.

His breath hitched, and his heart thumped.

Elliana only looked at him for a minuscule second, but it was enough to blow his mind.

He couldn’t believe his eyes. He had always known Elliana was a rare beauty and would look good in dresses, but he had never thought she would look this good.

Everything she had on was perfect. Nothing looked out of place. He was about to move towards Elliana to talk to her when Daniel sensed Elliana’s uneasiness and stood between Aditya and Elliana.

"What are you doing?" Aditya asked Daniel.

This was the second time this thing was happening. The second time this vampire came between him and Elliana, he didn’t like a second out of it.

"What do you think I am doing?" I am trying to protect my partner from talking to other boys until we have had our first dance," Daniel said, and Aditya looked at the girl behind Daniel, who was just standing there without even looking at him.

Something was off with her. Normally, she would’ve turned to him to greet him, but she was treating him like he didn’t even exist for her like she didn’t know who he was.

Did something happen? Did someone say anything to her? She was talking about being bullied earlier. Did someone threaten her again? Aditya wanted to talk to her, but seeing Daniel standing in front of her, he gritted his teeth and walked ahead with a dejected look.

Madeline looked at the helpless and sad look that crossed Aditya’s face when Elliana didn’t talk to him and her hands clenched around her skirt.

However, as soon as her gaze met Aditya’s, the scowl on her face turned into a fake forced smile.

"What are you standing here for? Stop thinking about everything and just enjoy the party," Alcinder commented behind Elliana, and she looked at the stage with a distant look.

"The performances will start any minute. I am going to sing," Elliana said.

Her friends were surprised. When they heard that Elliana was thinking of singing, they thought she was just kidding, but who would’ve thought that she really wanted to sing on the stage in front of everyone?

Maybe Elliana was a good singer, but everyone in the University knew that Madeline was one of the best singers out there. Elliana entered the university late, and everyone had heard enough of Madeline’s singing not to mess with her.

Madeline even participated in a competition write within a week of entering the college and won the first prize against the state singers.

Elliana looked at Madeline, who held the mic in her hand and started singing a soft, slow song. Everyone turned to the stage as Madeline’s soft voice reached their ears, and they looked at her amazed.

According to everyone, she really deserved the title of the campus belle. Not only was she extremely beautiful, but she also had a voice of a diva. Madeline’s gaze didn’t leave Elliana for a long time before she looked at Aditya as she described things about love.

Aditya smiled at his girlfriend in pride. His heart was filled with joy. Right. This was why he chose Madeline. She was beautiful, talented, and quick-witted. Not only will she make an amazing wife, but her ideas and brain would also be useful to the council too.

Aditya nodded at himself.

Once Madeline stopped singing, the entire hall went wild with claps, and Madeline bowed with a humble smile that was both modest and beautiful.

’She is really the best among humans. A true princess,’ people started talking among themselves.

"Elliana, are you sure you want to go singing after this? She had already set the bar so high. I am not saying that you can’t sing. You probably are a good singer, but please don’t humiliate yourself. You have seen how good she is. People will only think that you couldn’t take a loss and want to compete more," Melony looked at Elliana, and the latter only smiled.

"How would I know if I am better than her or not if I don’t try?" She asked, and Melony didn’t have an answer to that.

Daniel looked at the polite smile on her face and sighed. He knew this was pure madness. Whoever removed her name from the list already wanted to see her getting humiliated; if Elliana is only a mediocre singer, this will surely give that person a chance to laugh at her. He didn’t want that to happen.

"If you want to try. You should go ahead. As much as I dislike you, I like that you have the zeal to try something so daringly. I will support you," Alcinder’s voice was low, but it was heard perfectly among the friends, and they looked at each other before sighing.

It’s not like they were really able to do something to stop her now. The one thing they have learned about Elliana in the past few days is she doesn’t really care about things and the aftermath of her actions. If she wants to do something, she will do it even if it can cost her life.

"Thanks," Elliana turned and held Alcinder’s hand to show how grateful she was that at least one person was supporting her.

What she didn’t know was that the feel of her soft hands that were holding his calloused ones because of how much he works out after Elliana insulted him by saying he doesn’t have any abs felt good to Alcinder.

His heart skipped a beat at her, and he gritted his teeth inwardly. He wasn’t supposed to be feeling soft for this or any human. The only reason he is friends with her is because of Daniel and now Samantha too.

"I won’t let you down," Elliana smiled at him, and he narrowed his eyes to control his thoughts before nodding.

"You better not, or I’ll change your nickname from rabbit to crow," Alcinder said.

Daniel -"..."

What a way to motivate someone! They thought before shaking their heads at the duo.

Elliana turned around and walked to the stage with Samantha following her in case these students stopped her again.

"I was one of the participants in the voting pool. Can I sing a song too?" Elliana’s voice was polite and met with such beauty the student who was responsible for all this nodded in a daze before handing the mic to her.

"Do you have a song in mind? Is it famous? We can play the music for you," Arohi stood behind the PlayStation, and Elliana shook her head.

"It’s one of my own," Elliana said, and Arohi looked up in amazement.

She didn’t expect her to try something like this. Wasn’t she taking a bigger risk with her reputation? Since everyone knows her for being beautiful and on top because of the kind of people she hangs out with, if she didn’t sing well, they would be quick to judge her.

"Okay. All the best," Arohi shrugged.

"Thank you," Elliana smiled and took the mic from their hand.

"Next, we are presenting you Elliana H. She wants to sing a song and entertain everyone with her beautiful voice. Let’s hear her!" Arohi announced since the boys were still dazed and rolled her eyes.

Elliana walked to the stage. Everyone’s curious gaze made her nervous, and she held the mic tightly in her hand.

She looked around, and her eyes met with Madeline, who narrowed her eyes. Madeline had heard Elliana humming quite a few times. She had a good voice, but would it really be good enough to give her a competition? She doesn’t think so. It looks like her cute little sister has already found a way to humiliate herself. She scoffed.

’No matter what happens, don’t open your mouth to sing a song of any kind until it’s really the need of the situation and you can’t get out of it,’ Elliana remembered G’s voice from the prison, and she bit her lips.

This was a situation she couldn’t get out of, right? It’s the need of the situation. It’s a matter of her reputation. Besides, a song wouldn’t hurt anyone. It’s just some lyrics.

Elliana looked at Alcinder, who nodded at her as if knowing she wanted some moral support, and Elliana smiled.

She took a deep calming breath and opened her mouth.
