Chapter 89: Who made you cry?

Chapter-89

Yaretzi didn’t train Elliana today. She said Elliana’s emotions were a bit too haywire right now to be trained. She needs to have a calm mind, or her powers will keep going out of control, and she might destroy things beyond repair.

Elliana sat on the bed with her knees pulled up to her chest, her thoughts still a mess.

Even though Nath came and tried to get her into a good mood, it was still hard to believe what was happening to her.

’Your heart is all that I want.

Maybe I am crazy, but I fell for your personality rather than your looks,’

Elliana scoffed at the words that she had written for him a couple of years ago. A tear slipped down her eyes.

Anger kept all aside; she was just sad that her friend turned out to be a snake too.

Ping!

She heard the familiar sound of her phone that indicated an incoming message and sighed before picking up her phone.

It was a message from Melony.

"Pick up the group call,"

The message was simple, but Elliana felt it hard to comprehend. She didn’t want to talk to anyone.

She placed the phone aside and gulped before looking at it and picking it up again.

Maybe that was what she needed to do.

Maybe she just needed to talk to someone who would distract her from her pain and -

Elliana saw her phone ringing and was about to pick up the call when the door of the room opened. She didn’t want the prince to look at her in this state, and that’s why she turned to the other side immediately and faced the balcony.

Sebastian saw her moving and scrunched his brows, and went straight to the washroom to freshen up.

Elliana looked at her phone ringing with another message.

"Why are you not picking up the call?" It was Melony again.

Elliana looked at the bathroom door and sighed before picking up the call.

"Hello?" Her voice was soft and neutral.

"Hello? Elliana? What happened to your voice? Why do you sound like someone scolded you?" Melony chuckled.

"Can you just come straight to the point? Why have you added us to this group? What is the purpose of it? What happened?" Samantha groaned.

She was taking her piano lessons. Her hands were sore, and all she wanted was to have some good rest, but Melony’s messages and pings stopped her from doing so.

"There is indeed something important. So, as we all know, there was a voting pool where the campus belle, aka beauty of the first year, was about to be decided, no? The thing is, Elliana -"

"How was your shopping, princess?" Sebastian asked as soon as he got dressed in a fresh set of clothes and exited the bathroom.

He just wanted to stir up a question with her because he was surprised when he didn’t see his phone with an incoming message of any deductions of money. And Elliana came back home alone.

Blue said that she had been reading a book for almost an hour. If she wasn’t waiting for someone, then why did she feel the need to sit there? Did something happen?

And if she was waiting, then for whom?

However, when he noticed her, something caught his eye.

Elliana turned to him with her phone over her ears, but her talking on the phone wasn’t what caught his attention. It was her mild red and swollen eyes as if she had been crying.

He didn’t bother if she was talking over the call to her friends or if her identity would be exposed.

He narrowed his eyes and walked to her in slow but dominating strides.

"Who made you cry?" His voice turned a few degrees colder, and Elliana felt the danger from his aura immediately.

"I... I..."

"Just a name would be enough. Did someone bully you?" Sebastian said before bending to her eye level.

If someone bullied Elliana, why didn’t Blue mention anything to him?

Is that because she misses her home?

"Your eyes are not for crying. These are for seeing dreams and crinkle when you smile and see me when I -"

Elliana widened her eyes when she realized that his sweet talks might reveal who she was to her friends, and she placed her hand on his mask in a way to signal him to keep quiet, and Sebastian looked at her wide eyes, amused.

Her heart increased its pace in shyness, and Sebastian smiled inwardly.

"Don’t be sad, okay? I’ll be in my office. Call me when you are done with your stuff," Sebastian was about to turn before pausing.

"Miss Zoya complained to me that their princess didn’t return to have her evening snacks. You know that the chef in the kitchen prepares the food with so much care only for you.

Eat sweet things and improve your mood. It’s your smile that wins me over," His eyes were soft and held so much care that Elliana kept looking into his eyes, forgetting that she was on the call, and nodded.

Sebastian ruffled her hair softly, stepping closer to her, noticing her breath hitching.

He bent to her before tucking her hair behind her ear.

Sebastian nodded in satisfaction at her dazed expression. These expressions are the only thing that brightens up his days nowadays. The way her heart picks its pace, and she is so shy around him makes him want to tease her and keep her smiling like this.

"Good girl," Sebastian stood straight and was about to ask her about her dress when his gaze fell over her earrings.

"Your earrings," he started, and Elliana touched her earrings subconsciously.

"What about them?"

"You should wear pearls. They look good on you. I’ll ask someone to bring more such small pieces of jewelry for you. I have noticed that you like little things only," Sebastian said, and Elliana hummed, dazed.

Her eyes were not leaving him, and he suppressed the urge to chuckle.

"You were talking to someone?" He asked, and Elliana immediately remembered it.

She looked at her phone, and to her surprise, no one ended the call, and it was still ongoing, with everyone listening to their conversation probably.

"Um...yeah, my friends from the University," Elliana blushed, and Sebastian nodded before leaving the room.

Elliana heaved a sigh of relief as soon as he left and placed the phone over her ears again.

"You were saying something, Melony," Elliana whispered, and Melony screamed, making Elliana pull the phone away from her ears.

"Geez, what the hell?" Elliana whisper-yell at her.
