Chapter 72: A prodigy

Chapter-72

This couldn’t be a coincidence. It occurred as soon as Elliana opened her eyes. These have to be related in one way or another.

Probably the thing about her palm opening and facing others, like most of the witches, was underrated.

It was her. Her entire body was like a trigger. Her eyes, her tongue, her skin, her hands, and probably her mind were enough to perform any kind of spell, especially when it is triggered by emotion as strong and vile as anger and jealousy.

This is not good. If this continued and her powers continued to take over her mind and body, it wouldn’t be long before people would start recognizing her as different.

If they started recognizing her as different, they would either develop hate and envy or respect towards her.

Judging from the kind of past Elliana had, the chances of hate and envy are more than the other one, not to mention she is now the wife of the youngest and the most dangerous vampire prince.

What will he do when he notices this change in his wife? That his wife is not a normal human but a prodigy born in almost a thousand years?

Yaretzi gulped. What would people do when they hear that a mediocre witch like her took the responsibility of training her? What if something goes wrong, and she isn’t able to make it right? Yaretzi looked at the girl that was looking at the sky in wonder and amazement.

"Did I do good?" Elliana looked at Yaretzi, and the latter didn’t know what to answer.

Did she do great? Of course. She did so well that she might have to call her leaders to train her because she doesn’t know how to handle a prodigy kid.

"It was okay. I just wanted to show you what can happen if you look at something in anger and concentrate your energy on that thing, even unknowingly. Now if you don’t want to expose yourself to others, I will suggest you start calming your emotions," Yaretzi said, and Elliana looked at the lightning in the sky before humming.

"Right. I can’t afford people coming at me because they think I am some kind of alien. But can I know how I awakened my chakra? Is it something that everyone can do?" Elliana shifted her gaze to Yaretzi, who pursed her lips.

She was about to answer when she felt a slight movement from her peripheral vision and vanished into thin air.

Elliana noticed the guards changing shifts, and she sighed.

Till next time, Elliana thought before closing her eyes and leaning on the balcony.

This won’t do. She won’t be able to meditate here when it’s raining so heavily. Her mind would keep going to the terrace. So the best way to go and meditate to learn to calm her emotions would be going to the terrace and meditating under the rain, right?

Elliana nodded at herself and went to the terrace.

She sat on one of the chairs and folded her legs Asian style. With her eyes closed, she tried one of the mudra G had taught her. She touched her index finger and thumb together, letting her other three fingers out stiffly with her hands on her knees on both sides.

’Just feel it—the energy channeling inside you. I want to feel you. I want it all. Not once for all, but throughout my body, palpating every cell,’ Elliana told herself in her mind, letting the rain pour over her head as she tried to concentrate on every drop that was falling on her body.

This was the biggest and hardest kind of meditation, where she was trying to feel everything every part and cell of her body was feeling at the current moment.

As she kept concentrating, her mind took her to places in her memories she had never been.

’What is the reason you want to do this? How can you even think about it? Just for this reason? Are you going to leave your daughter just like that? Think about her! She is barely born!’

’How could you think of hanging from this ceiling?! Is your life so hard? Think about your daughter. She doesn’t know who her dad is, and her mom is suicidal,’

’What the hell do you want me to do? Do you think I like it when they call my daughter a bastard? You know what? I think I should kill her! I should kill her first before hanging myself,’

’Have you lost your mind? How can you take your own daughter’s life? She is your only hope in this world,’

’You have to live for Anna, despite what that king did to you. If you want to avenge your life, you need to be stronger. Learn to do things the right way. And if you can’t do that? Then sit behind, and let me do it for you. Let me teach my daughter how to take an act of revenge, sweet and cold. My daughter will take revenge on your behalf, on behalf of your daughter,’

Elliana opened her eyes with a jerk, falling on her hand as it took too much energy inside her.

What the hell was it all about? It was almost like she was looking into someone’s memories. She was a spectator there. As much as she wanted to believe that these were her memories, or probably her childhood, she knew it wasn’t.

If this wasn’t her childhood, then whose childhood was it?

Two ladies were fighting profusely. The ladies looked too familiar to her. There were two babies in the pram, both girls. She was one of them. Or why would she have a jump into memories like this?

She can’t look into someone else’s memories, right? What was wrong with her? If she had looked a bit more, then maybe she would have been able to see a part of her life that she doesn’t remember anything about—the part where she was not five years old.

Maybe if she can pry into those memories, she can find who her biological mom is. The chances are slim, but there was nothing wrong in trying it, was there?

Elliana closed her eyes, ready to start again, when a shiver ran down her spine. Right. The rain was still pouring. Though it wasn’t as heavy as before, it was still there.

She sneezed twice and rubbed her nose, feeling even colder than before.

Meditation or not, if she kept sitting here for a longer duration, she was bound to become sick, and if that happened, she wouldn’t be able to participate in the freshers’ party or go dress shopping tomorrow, which was very crucial for her.

It looks like she will have to perform this meditation activity again but at some other time.

Elliana sighed into the rain and looked up into the sky; the slight lightning and soft thunders sounded like even clouds were grumbling. They were unhappy about something too.

Was it her unhappiness that was still radiating through them? Should she try to make them happy? Chanel, her energy into them?

Elliana wondered what it would be like to do the same thing again, just with positive emotion.

She closed her eyes again before thinking about her time with Nath, when they used to run around the fields, catching each other, and how he used to tend to her wounds like she was the princess of the world.

Her mind shifted to Mr. Marino, who grips her chin at any given a chance, forcing her gaze onto him.

The way he rubs her lower lip with his thumb as if she is the most beautiful artifact he has laid his eyes on or the way he sneaks his hand around her waist and pulls her close like he is really invested in her.

She thought about all the time when her heart quickened its pace because of his proximity and when he danced in the rain with her just to make her happy. The way he kissed her forehead, even from above his mask, or how he placed her hand on his chest teasingly, was everything she needed to have her heart race again.

A small gentle breeze-like smile spread across her lips, and she took a deep breath.

Was this feeling good enough for her to be able to perform this kind of practice? Elliana imagined channeling her happiness into the middle of her palm and imagined how her hand must be glowing right now.

She smiled at the thought of hugging Mr. Marino, that she almost did when they were dancing earlier.

She knew that this prom was their university dance, but for some reason, she wanted her first official dance after marriage to be with her husband.

It was a selfish and impossible thing to think, but the thought of dancing with her masked Vampire Prince in front of everyone made her cheeks turn red.

’Calm down,’ she told herself before opening her hands to the sky, followed by her eyes that she opened ever so gently.

She blinked into the pitter-patter of the rain before raising her brows when she noticed the dark clouds started to lighten in color and the rain started slowing.

It looked like pure bliss, and she looked at her in pure amazement. As the clouds were clearing the sky, she noticed a small rainbow forming, and her heart felt content.

She was about to stand and walk to the railing to enjoy the view when she heard a voice she least expected to hear.

"What are you doing here, Princess?" She froze in her place.
