Chapter 67: I really really like you
Chapter-67
Elliana noticed the car and looked at her friends.
"My chauffeur is here. I need to leave," Elliana said, and Daniel looked at the car with a complicated look. He was still not able to figure out what kind of family and background Elliana had.
She always comes and goes in posh and expensive cars. Though she is humble and has been bullied in the past, her lifestyle and clothes are sometimes better than what even Samantha wears.
Her clothes are the simplest, and it’s hard to judge their brand just by looking at them, but since his sister owns a fashion company and a mall, he knows this kind of fabric isn’t something that you can buy with a few hundred dollars.
"Okay. Well, ask your guardian if you can come to dress shopping with me tomorrow. We need to buy matching clothes," Daniel said, and he stepped closer to her.
He had the sudden urge to hold her head and kiss her temple, but he knew he wasn’t at that stage, even in the friendship where Elliana won’t mind it.
She looked like a sophisticated girl, and she might think about his action in a completely different manner.
He sighed before flicking her nose and stepping away, making her smile.
"I will. Bye," she waved her hand at Daniel, Alex, and Samantha before scoffing at Alcinder, who just stood there, mouth agape.
"You guys seriously don’t get along," Samantha chuckled at Alcinder.
"It’s all her, okay? I try to be as polite as I can," he grumbled before looking at the girl who stopped at the gates of the university to see something on her phone.
She was quite unlikable now that he thought about it. Huh, who is he kidding? Honestly, messing with her makes him happy for some reason.
She is like a human toy friend he didn’t know he needed.
He scoffed at his thoughts before turning to Samantha and pulling her cheeks, making the latter scowl.
"Let’s go," he said, and Samantha nodded, making Daniel look at the couple before his gaze followed Elliana’s back, and his hands clenched.
Elliana, who was walking to the car, had to stop when her phone vibrated.
Once she gets inside the car, there is no way she would be able to check her phone. And the chances of the prince reading her text would be more.
If it’s the message from that witch, things will become hard to explain.
She opened her phone and looked at the message.
"The training will start today. I left because of that vampire boy Dexter. You said I can’t get caught or blow your cover," It was indeed the message from that witch, and Elliana quickly typed an okay before deleting the message thread.
She was about to place her phone back in her pocket when she received another message.
"What do we do with them?" The message asked, and Elliana bit her lower lip.
"You wait," Elliana typed before stuffing the phone in her small purse.
She walked to the car, and the door of the car was opened for her.
Daniel, who was observing carefully, tried to look at the people sitting inside, but no matter what, he couldn’t see anything. The only thing he noticed was the vibrant and shy smile on Elliana’s face before the door closed, and his heart thumped.
He has never seen her smile like this at any of them or him specifically. She made it clear that she doesn’t have a boyfriend. Could it be that this person who came to pick her up today was her long crush? It’s common in teenage girls.
The possibility made his fist clench, and he squared his jaws before turning to Alex, who was observing him with his brows raised.
"I told you not to get too attached to this human girl, didn’t I? She has a life. Don’t get upset about such a petty thing. And don’t assume things without knowing the full truth behind them, okay?" Alex said, and Daniel hummed before ruffling his hair.
"I will try, okay? It’s hard. I don’t know what this feeling is. I just feel drawn to her like a moth to a flame. And honestly speaking, I indeed feel like a moth these days. I know this isn’t right, but even after all this, I can’t help but think about her," Daniel said, and Alex was about to say more when Melony and Derek joined them.
"Oh, Daniel, did you hear?" Melony looked at him with a smirk.
His gaze moved to Derek, who shrugged, and he looked at the girl.
"Heard of what?" He asked cautiously. Judging from her mischievous gaze, he had a feeling that she was talking about Elliana, and for some reason, he didn’t have a good feeling about it.
"Remember the finance minister’s son? Dexter?" Melony asked.
"What about him?"
"Well, I saw him with Elliana today. From what I heard, I think Dexter is shifting to this University. Since he is in the final year of his previous course, he also took the first year of our course and will be balancing both courses. I wonder why he would go through this hassle," Melony wriggled her brows.
"For Elliana," Daniel trailed off, and Melony shrugged before she hooked her hands with Derek.
"I think you need to step up your game if you want her attention all to yourself. Let’s go, darling," Melony looked at Derek, who chuckled at her proud face after giving a gossip and shook his head before nodding and descending the stairs with her.
Meanwhile, Elliana, who sat inside the car, smiled at everyone, but when she didn’t get any response from Sebastian, she just looked out of the window with a dazed look on her face.
The last message caught her off guard. Right. She still hasn’t decided what to do with them. Should she release them? But that would be too random. The least she can do is help them, no? Elliana bit her lips thoughtfully.
Lucas looked at Ambrose to ask what was going on, and Ambrose shrugged.
Lucas was about to ask the princess how her day was to initiate the conversation when the partition between them and the couple was put up completely, making Lucas sigh.
"What’s his problem? He doesn’t want to talk to her and won’t let us interact with her either. Does he want her to feel lonely with us?" Lucas whispered to Ambrose, who shrugged again, making Lucas roll his eyes.
Elliana looked at the prince when he put up the partition, but when he didn’t say anything, she went back to looking out the window.
Sebastian turned his head and looked at the girl, who had a distant look on her face. Remembering what Blue told him about her talking to Aditya, he clenched his fists, wanting to ask her why she was going to help others when she could just come to him.
But he knows if he did that, his cover would be blown, and that’s why he sighed before controlling his inner thoughts.
"How was your day, Mr. Marino?" Elliana suddenly asked, and Sebastian looked into her eyes before nodding.
"It was okay. How was yours?" He asked, and she shrugged.
"It was okay. I guess," she paused before looking at him.
"I talked to the council head’s son. The humans," Elliana said, and Sebastian quirked his brows.
Why was she telling about it to him? Does she suspect that Blue is following her? She didn’t mention the incident of how she was bullied by him, then why is she mentioning this?
"Oh," he said, and Elliana nodded.
"Mr. Marino?"
"Hmm?" Sebastian looked at her.
"You have a friend named Tian," Elliana started, and Sebastian was confused for a second before he remembered the incident of the morning and nodded vaguely.
"What about him?" He asked.
"He is not a good guy. He was bad-mouthing you. I didn’t like it. You should be careful of people like these," Elliana nodded at herself while saying, and Sebastian couldn’t help but find her cute.
This stupid girl. Does she seriously have no idea that he was the same person, just without his mask?
"He is quite handsome, no?" Sebastian asked, and Elliana nodded.
"He is quite handsome indeed. Just like a model straight out of a magazine, but -"
"But?" Sebastian turned to her, amused, pulling her close, and Elliana blushed.
"You are way more handsome," Elliana looked at him shyly, and Sebastian raised his brows at her.
"And how can you say that?" Sebastian asked.
"Inner beauty is all that matters. He was bad-mouthing you even when he knew I was your wife. He even held my hand even when I was his friend’s wife. This is not a good attitude. Rather you, you are the most gentlemanly person I have met. I really, really like you," Elliana said before widening her eyes when she realized what she had said, and she quickly distanced herself from him.
"I... I didn’t... I didn’t mean to -" Elliana looked away, and Sebastian looked at her innocent wide eyes before smiling.
He placed his finger under her chin, forcing her to look at him.
"It’s great you like me. Because if you like any other man, I won’t let him live," Sebastian’s eyes turned cold, and Elliana gulped, her heart thumping loudly.
"I..." She didn’t know what to say, and he smiled inwardly before ruffling her hair, making her scowl.
What was with everyone ruffling her hair today?
