Chapter 68: An exaggerating couple
Chapter-68
"What are your plans for the evening?" Elliana asked as soon as they walked inside the mansion, and Miss Zoya was about to greet them but stopped when she noticed the prince and princess were talking.
"I will be in my office looking over a few projects. Why?" Sebastian turned to her, his full attention on her now, and she bit her lower lip before looking up at him with the cutest expression she could muster.
"Can you please teach me how to dance on proms? Like with a male partner?" Elliana asked, and Sebastian raised his brows.
"Do you have a partner now?" Sebastian asked.
He didn’t want her to know that he watched everything that happened in front of the exit, and Elliana hummed.
"Daniel asked me for the dance and prom. He is the mayor’s son of vampires," Elliana said, and Sebastian’s gaze moved to Miss Zoya, who looked too happy for her own good.
"Okay. I will be free in an hour. You can freshen up and eat some snacks in the meantime. I am sure your favorite chef has prepared something for you already," Sebastian’s gaze moved to the entrance of the dining hall from where the chef was peeking at them.
As soon as Chef’s gaze met with the prince, he rushed inside, feeling scared for no reason.
"Okay. Umm, I will call you?" Elliana looked at her phone, and he smiled.
"Just use the intercom," Sebastian said, and she looked dumbfounded.
Of course, how could she forget that? She makes herself look stupid sometimes, no?
"Also," Sebastian walked closer to her, and bent to her eye level, making her take a step back, but his hand sneaked around her waist, stopping her from stepping back further, and she looked at him with raised brows.
"I will tell him you are not interested in him. He won’t bother you, okay?" Sebastian said, and Elliana remembered the talk about Tian.
"No, you don’t have to be harsh to him. He is your friend. Maybe I read too much into things. Don’t spoil your friendship just like that," Elliana said, and their conversation confused everyone.
What friend? What spoiling? Who was this couple talking about? Does their youngest prince really have a friend in the mansion that they don’t know about?
Miss Zoya looked at Lucas, who shrugged as he didn’t have any idea what they were talking about.
"Okay, as you say," Sebastian said, his eyes searching for something in her, and when he noticed how cute she looked, his gaze moved to her puckered lips, and he raised his hand before cupping her cheeks.
Everyone in the corridor averted their gaze when they noticed their affectionate actions, thinking the prince was about to kiss her, but he just smiled inwardly.
"Wait for me, okay?" He said, and Elliana nodded in a daze.
She noticed how beautiful his eyes looked, and the more she looked into them, the more her heart picked its pace.
"I will," She said.
Miss Zoya looked at the couple and felt like slapping her forehead.
Wasn’t this couple exaggerating everything a bit too much? The prince was just going to a meeting in the same building, just a couple of floors above them. Why were they making it look like he was going on some kind of war and the princess should wait for him and not get married to another boy?
Sebastian straightened his back when he was satisfied with her dazed look.
That’s right. He wanted her to think about only him when she was with him and no one else. He nodded before leaving, making Elliana take a deep breath.
She was about to walk towards the stairs too, but Miss Zoya rushed in front of her.
"Princess," Miss Zoya said, and Elliana looked at her with raised brows.
"What is it, Miss Zoya?"
"So, Daniel asked you for a dance? What did he do? Was he the only one who asked you? Were there more guys? How did they propose? Do you have a dress in mind?" Miss Zoya launched her questions one after the other, and Elliana looked at her, amused.
"Can I answer your questions after I freshen up a bit and get changed?" Elliana asked, and Miss Zoya nodded sheepishly.
"Sure, princess. I am just too excited to hear it," she said, and Elliana smiled before ascending the stairs to go to their room.
Once inside the room, the smile on her face immediately dropped, and she looked at her phone with a complicated look.
She was yet to decide what she wanted to do with them. Elliana knows that it’s useless to delay the matters and that she should take out some time from her schedule to go and greet them, but -
Yes. She would ask Sebastian to go dress shopping tomorrow with Daniel. She can always sneak out of there after shopping. All she needs to do is balance her time. She will have to tell the chauffeur a different time, probably a couple of hours later, after she is done so that she can have a good time to herself and can deal with the matters.
She nodded at herself before going to her wardrobe and taking out a change of clothes.
She settled with a knee-length pink cotton dress that was both comfortable and looked presentable enough before choosing shorts under them since she would be practicing dancing with the prince, and embarrassing herself in front of the prince while dancing was the last thing she wanted to do.
Meanwhile, Simon walked inside his office, and the smile on his face immediately dropped and was replaced with a scowl. He looked at Lucas, who nodded and closed the door before bolting it.
Sebastian took off his mask and placed it on the table while Lucas drew the blinds.
"What was that all about, sir? What friend was the princess talking about?" Lucas looked at Sebastian curiously.
"The stupid girl couldn’t figure out that it was me without the mask in the morning, and I told her my name was Tian, and I was the youngest prince’s friend. I wanted to get into her head and tried to pry her thoughts, and she thought I, the friend, was making a move on her even after knowing she is my friend’s woman," Sebastian explained with a bored look, and Lucas hummed.
He looked at the prince, whose expression wasn’t too good. Whose expression would be good after knowing your family is conspiring against you and thinking of every possible way to keep you down and busy so that you don’t fight for the throne?
"Is there any lead on who could be the one who took away those boys from us? Those people with black angel wings, do we have any lead on them?" Sebastian sat on his chair.
"Could it be possible that it was the royals who took them? Have they created a different team just to annoy me? It doesn’t sound too weird after everything they are trying," he scoffed.
"Those weren’t royal guards. They had good biking skills and looked like locals. The funny thing was that our best spies couldn’t even decipher what species they belonged to. This makes me wonder what kind of thing they used to hide their scent and vibes from us," Lucas said, and Sebastian hummed.
"I didn’t ask you to tell me about how they were able to easily get away from us. I am asking if we have a lead on them or not," Sebastian said, and Lucas nodded.
"We indeed have a lead on them, sir. I am trying to verify the information. One of the locals said he saw someone wearing the same jacket the other day and a woman walking with the black angel wings on her arm too,"
"A woman?" Sebastian raised his brows, surprised.
"Yes, sir. So far, we can only conclude that maybe the team also included women and if we can get close to just even one. I am sure for them to have disappeared right after they entered the city in the local area. They are hiding the boys somewhere not far away," Lucas said, and Sebastian hummed.
"They are in the city. All we need to do is try to find an area that smells like humans, especially human blood, and then check the area. After the merge, many humans have started to live in this area, and it would be a bit hard," Sebastian massaged his forehead.
"Also, ask the spies to do it in a way that no royal guards or the humans suspect them, or things would become hard to explain. We can’t exactly tell them we are looking for the humans to kill them, right?" Sebastian said, and Lucas was about to nod and leave when Sebastian started again.
"Lucas, I want you to do one more work for me," Sebastian looked at the paperweight, and Lucas waited for Sebastian to give the orders.
"I want you to get someone to keep a constant look on the Princess’s phone. I want all the information about who she is talking with, messaging or calling, and who is messaging her," Sebastian paused before circling and opening the file.
"When the princess stopped at the entrance and read the text today, the expression on her face had faltered to a grave one for a second, and it didn’t settle well with me. Something is going on with her that she is hiding well with her innocent face. No matter what, we shouldn’t trust her blindly," Sebastian said.
Lucas nodded before leaving, making Sebastian sigh. This girl just looks too oblivious and innocent for her own good. He opened his laptop to see the clips of the dungeons of the royal mansion that he recently got.
Let’s see what these royals are hiding about those rogue vampires.
