Chapter 65: I don’t like this human girl

"Hey, where are you taking me?" Elliana asked when she noticed they weren’t going toward their classes.

"Have you had your lunch?" Melony asked, and before Elliana could answer, she nodded at herself.

"You smell of pizza. I am sure you had your lunch," Melony continued walking, and Elliana stopped asking.

After a few minutes, Melony looked at the girl and sighed.

"You have no idea what’s going around, do you? Do you check the student’s forum?" Melony asked as she brought Elliana to some kind of hall that was already filled with people.

"I don’t know the login id and how to check," Elliana said, and Melony rolled her eyes.

"And did you even bother asking anyone? Of course, not," Melony said before she sighed.

"Honestly, it’s kind of good that you don’t know about it. It’s not always filled with positive things. Anyways, the reason I brought you here is that this is the place where we will be practicing the dance for the prom for the next three days," Melony clapped her hands.

"Will someone teach us? I don’t know how to dance," Elliana said.

"It’s okay. Leave that for your prince to figure out," Melony’s words made Elliana pause, and she looked at him with surprise.

What did she say? The prince will figure it out? Does that mean she knows about her marriage? Is she an insider? Does she know about other stuff too? Elliana looked at Melony closely to decipher her reaction and expression.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Even if you haven’t said yes to anyone and anyone hasn’t proposed to you, the person you’ll bring to the dance won’t be any less lucky than a prince, no?" Melony said.

Elliana sighed in relief before humming.

"Is it necessary to choose a prince? I can choose a princess, too, right?" Elliana asked, and before Melony could understand, Elliana held her hand and pulled her close.

"Will you teach me how to dance, Ms. Melony?" Elliana bowed on her knees slightly.

Melony looked into the unadulterated amber eyes of Elliana and felt her heart skipping a beat.

Now she knows why those vampire boys are going head over heels for the human girl. There is something about her that attracts you.

Elliana wasn’t the prettiest girl in college, but it was all about her personality that attracted people toward her.

"I...uhh... I... " Melony found herself in a tough spot.

When she didn’t answer even after a few seconds, Elliana smiled and dropped her hand.

"Why are you sweating it? You don’t have to do it if you don’t like it. I am just kidding. Please enjoy your dance," Elliana said before turning around.

"Elliana, it’s not that. I want to dance with you too, but it’s just that -" Melony struggled to speak, and Elliana smiled at her.

However, before she could say anything, her hand was held, and she was pulled with a jerk in another direction.

Elliana turned around to see who it was, and seeing it was none other than Alex, Elliana smiled.

"Dance with me," Alex said.

"Are you sure about it? I don’t know how to dance, so I will be stomping on your foot quite a lot," Elliana warned, and Alex smiled.

"It’s okay. If this doesn’t work, I won’t hesitate to try Alcinder’s method of dancing," Alex said.

Alcinder’s method of dancing? Elliana blushed hard when she remembered that it was exactly how Mr. Marino had danced with her in the rain.

She smiled at the memory.

The way he held her, brought her close, looked into her eyes as if he liked her presence, and danced in the rain with her, without any music, everything was so romantic that every time she thought about it, she couldn’t believe it.

Even when she was the person he danced with, it was still hard to believe. It was like a dream that -

"Do you like him?" Alex’s sudden question brought Elliana out of her memories, and she looked back at Alex in confusion.

"Hmm?" Elliana raised her brows.

"Do you like Alcinder?" Alex asked, and Elliana looked at him for a few seconds, waiting for him to say he was joking, but when he didn’t, she rolled her eyes.

"Do I like Alcinder? It’s more like, do I not get annoyed by Alcinder? Why don’t you ask the same question from him? I am sure he would’ve many colorful things to say about me," Elliana said.

"If that’s the case, why did you start blushing as soon as his name was mentioned?" Alex smiled, and Elliana sighed.

"I wasn’t blushing thinking about him. I just remembered how embarrassing it was when everyone was gazing at me. I don’t know if you caught it, but I am not exactly someone who likes attention to herself,"

"And yet, you are one of the people in this University, everyone has their eyes on it," Alex commented, and Elliana hummed.

"I find it troublesome and weird. Why are they so interested in my life? Even my guardian isn’t so interested in my life," Elliana’s words made Alex chuckle before they heard the soft music playing.

"By the way, do you know why I am here?" Alex asked, and Elliana shook her head.

"I am here because someone asked me to keep you company until his work is done to ensure no one comes near you with an ulterior motive," Alex said, and Elliana scrunched her brows.

"Don’t think too much about it. You’ll know who that person is soon," Alex said before he turned her on her heels, and Elliana would have almost stumbled if not for his hand that held her close.

She noticed how Alex was trying his best to maintain a safe distance from her even when they were dancing salsa, and she smiled.

"You are a good person and friend," Elliana commented.

"Alex!" One of Daniel’s friends called Alex, and he excused himself from her before going to them.

He turned around to look at the girl who went near the window and shook his head before asking what does his friend need from him.

"Hey," Elliana heard a masculine voice, and she turned to see who it was.

"Hi," Elliana scrunched her brows.

Melony, who had been dancing with her partner for the prom and was turning during a circle, looking at the boy who was approaching Elliana and smiled.

"You are getting awfully involved with that human girl. You know that, right?" Her partner asked her, and she hummed.

"I know, Derek. It’s just there’s something about her. When you meet her and start talking to her, you just can’t walk away. If I didn’t know she was a weak human who can’t do anything to protect themselves, I would’ve actually believed that she casts some kind of witch spell on everyone," Melony said, and Derek pulled her close, their lips almost touching.

"Should I worry about that girl putting a spell on this girl too?" Derek cupped her cheeks and traced her lower lip with his thumb.

"You know I can’t bear it when someone tries to come between us, right? It won’t take long to snap a little girl’s neck because she is taking too much of your attention," Derek said, and Melony raised her brows.

"Hey! You can’t say things like these. Don’t you know how many influential vampires are behind her," Melony said, and Derek placed his hand under her chin.

"And for some reason, you think I am scared of them? If they are the mayor’s son and the council’s head’s son, I am also the forest minister’s son," Derek said, his eyes turning colors, and Melony looked into his eyes before a blush rose to her cheeks.

"I get it. I am really lucky to have met you. Now don’t behave like this. She is my good friend. Please," Melony blinked, and Derek sighed.

"Fine. Just because you like her, I am letting the matter go for now. But I hope you remember that I can’t bear to share you with anyone. I don’t care if it’s your new human toy friend or some vampire I could care less about," Derek said, and Melony smiled at him before nodding and placing her hands around his neck.

"I got it, lover boy. Don’t be angry anymore. She is just my friend, and I am interested in her life all because it gives me joy. She has given me the most gossip than the entire class, and you know I am responsible for these hot topics. People look up to me," Melony grinned, biting her lower lips.

Derek looked at her lovingly before dipping his head and taking her lower lip between his lips, making her eyes go wide.

"Mmmmm! Derek!" Melony patted his chest furiously, and he chuckled at her embarrassed expression.

"What are you so embarrassed about? There are no teachers, and it’s not like we are having some kind of affair. We will get married, love," Derek said, and Melony smiled before hiding her face in his chest when she noticed everyone smiling at them.

Meanwhile, Elliana looked at the boy, who scratched the back of his head.

"Will you give me the pleasure of being your partner for the prom?" The boy asked, and Elliana raised her brows.

For prom? Right. She didn’t have a partner for the prom yet. Now that she thinks about it, she will have to decide on a dress too. Elliana nodded at herself, and the boy smiled with hope.

"No, she won’t," Samantha placed her hand on Elliana’s shoulders, and the boy smiled awkwardly before leaving.

"Huh?" Elliana looked at Samantha, who flicked her forehead.

"You stupid girl, are you going to say yes to just anyone?" Samantha asked, and Elliana bit her lower lip.

"No, but I think that was quite rude and -"

"You can’t be polite to everyone, Elliana. It won’t take you anywhere," Samantha said, and Elliana hummed.
