Chapter 582: She made up her mind

"Do you really want to go?" Sebastian asked Elliana once again, making her smile.

"Yes, Mr. Marino, I want to go. You know why I am going. This is important too," She leaned forward and pecked his cheeks.

"Be safe for me," Sebastian cupped her face and pecked her lips, shifting his hand on her neck as he massaged her skin, making her mark on the neck tingle.

"Hey, stop it. I am going to the University. Don’t make me..." Elliana stopped, heat creeping up her neck.

Sebastian immediately looked at his wife amused.

"Make you what, honey?" He asked.

"You are so mean, Mr. Marino," Elliana pushed him away before she got out of the car, making the man sigh.

"Bye," She waved her hand at him before turning around and walking towards the University’s gate.

As soon as she turned her gaze away from Mr. Marino’s car, she closed her eyes, the smile disappearing from her face in a second. A hint of concern appeared on her face as she rushed inside the University since she knew he would be there.

She hadn’t even entered the building when she was greeted by her group of friends.

"Eli, you are here," Melony clapped her hands and rushed to her, making everyone walk to her.

Elliana smiled at Melony before looking at Dexter, her eyes becoming soft immediately.

"Are you okay?" She asked, but Dexter didn’t say anything. He just hummed and looked away.

Elliana sighed. She didn’t want to do this, but she wasn’t left with no choice anymore.

"Hey," She grabbed Dexter’s hand and without giving him a warning, she used her teleportation to bring them to the terrace, surprising everyone with her sudden vanishing.

"What the -" Dexter started, not expecting it.

"I am sorry for doing this without your permission but this was the only way for you to open up to me. Tell me, what exactly happened," Elliana tightened her grip on Dexter’s hand, making him look down at his feet.

"Elliana, don’t -"

"If you consider me your friend," Elliana whispered, making Dexter’s eyes quiver.

"I don’t know how it happened. It was just a normal argument between my father and I. Just like all the time he was shouting at me for the things, and I left the house. But who would’ve thought that she would do something like this in my absence? She has been living with us for so long that we never expected something like this from her," Dexter’s eyes brimmed with tears.

Elliana pressed her lips into a thin line before she hugged the man, bringing him close to her.

It was right after she returned from meeting her mother that she received Daniel’s message about the finance minister being admitted to the hospital urgently.

Elliana confirmed the news with her husband, who told her what they knew about the accident, and she immediately knew she had to go and see her friend, who had stayed with her through thick and thin without a doubt.

"She stabbed my father straight in his chest, Elliana. What kind of unfilial son am I? I didn’t even know about the incident until half of the operation was done!" Dexter said, wiping his tears furiously.

Elliana just hugged her friend. There was nothing she could do at this moment, nor could she say that everything would be fine because her husband already told her that the survival rate was only 5%.

"I don’t think I will ever be able to forgive myself for running away yesterday. I kept telling him that this woman was no good for him, but he never listened to me. But it was my fault too. I shouldn’t have left my father in someone’s trap. I should’ve tried harder. Maybe if I had, he would be with me and not in that hospital," Dexter said, hugging Elliana tighter.

As soon as Elliana heard his words, she couldn’t help but think about her father.

Dexter said that he would’ve done anything for his father to save him if he knew what was about to happen. But what about her?

She knows exactly what was happening, and what would happen if they didn’t do anything, then why weren’t they doing anything?

What if her father ends up getting hurt because they are delaying things? Elliana gazed into the distance, lost in her own thoughts.

Her head was filled with memories of the time when she saw her father for the first time. Those empty eyes that held no hope, those eyes that felt like there was no soul in him had lit up with hope when her tears had dropped in the magical realism.

He has been staying there locked in the trap of that woman for 19 years. And she can save him. Everyone knows that she can save him, but what was she doing? She was just standing here, waiting for things to go wrong.

"I just wish time could return so that I could save my father. This pain of guilt is consuming me slowly, Elliana," Dexter whispered before he fell on his knees in front of her, crying like a baby as he hugged her torso.

A tear rolled down Elliana’s eyes seeing her friend in so much pain.

"Hey, Dexter, I know how you feel. You might not understand, but I am in a similar situation and I know exactly how you feel. But I need you to calm down first. Sometimes things are not in our hands and nor are they as easy as they seem," Elliana patted his hair, caressing his head as she tried to calm down herself too.

"I know what you are trying to say, Elliana. And I know it’s useless to blame myself too. But what am I supposed to do with my heart? The heart doesn’t understand logic, Elliana. What I should -"

"Kill her," Elliana said without a second thought, her own emotions clouding her judgment.

Her words surprised Dexter, who raised his head and looked straight into her eyes.

"Do you even know what you are talking about, Elliana? Kill her? How can I-?" Dexter started, but before he could complete his sentence, Elliana sat on the ground in front of him and smiled.

"It’s tit for tat, Dexter. If you can’t kill her, let’s at least get her imprisoned. How can she roam freely in the world after committing such a grave sin and hurting your father and you?" She looked into his eyes, her gaze serious.

Dexter wiped his tears and looked at Elliana. Her suggestion made sense to him. He could see what she was trying to say, but it wasn’t like he didn’t try to do the exact thing either.

In his anger, while his father was fighting death in that operation theater, he had rushed out of the hospital to look for that woman who was the cause of all this. However, no matter how much he tried to look for her, he couldn’t find her, and thus, he was left with no choice but to blame himself.

"I don’t know where that woman went. I tried to -"

Elliana smiled at him, holding his hand between hers comfortingly.

"You don’t know where that woman went, but I know,"

"You know?" Dexter looked at Elliana, shocked.

"Have you forgotten I am not just a normal human? I am a witch. I can use my powers easily to find a way for anything. Now watch me find where that woman is and then you go there and bring that woman in front of the royals yourself. Get her imprisoned and get her what she deserves," Elliana said before she clicked her hands and a crystal ball appeared in front of her.

It was the crystal ball that Nathaniel prepared with his power’s ice himself. It was made from fine glass with ice flakes inside it and had one of the most ancient carvings that made the magic performed on it ten times more effective.

It was one of the most precious gifts someone gave her, apart from Mr. Marino.

Dexter looked at the girl, mesmerized by what she was doing as she saw her hand moving over the crystal ball, his gaze stuck at the moving clouds inside the crystal ball.

If he wasn’t in so much pain and suffering, he would’ve surely asked the girl to show her some more of her magic because it was so enticing and enchanting.

Elliana stopped her movement and with her index finger fixated on the ball surface, she rotated her hand slightly, trying to locate the woman as she saw in Dexter’s memories.

"Where is she?" Elliana concentrated harder, and it wasn’t long before she finally saw her.

"She is hiding on the western outskirts of the moon city," Elliana opened her eyes after some time.

"Do you want me to ask Jasmine and Draco to look into it?" She asked, but Dexter shook his head.

"Let me do this. Maybe this way I will be able to ease this guilt inside my heart," Dexter said.

Elliana understood where the man was coming from.

She patted his palm before smiling.

"Go ahead before she moves from there and go somewhere far. You owe this to your father" She said and Dexter nodded before he stood from his place and walked away.

However, after walking a few steps, he paused and rushed back to hug her.

"Thank you, Elliana," He said before he left, making the girl sigh.

Once Elliana noticed the guy really left, she pulled out her phone and dialed the number.

As soon as the person on the other side picked up, she took a deep breath.

"I want to do it. Let’s save my father, please. I don’t care about the consequences anymore. Being unsuccessful is better than not trying and suffering guilt," Elliana whispered in the last sentence, knowing all too well that being unsuccessful in this plan would only mean losing herself.
