Chapter 567: Psychic testing

Elliana accepted the invite from the University, making her immediately disappear and appear where the battle was supposed to take place.

Her gaze met a few students who looked at her weirdly.

And why not?

She heard from Nathaniel how students weren’t exactly happy because she got a wild card entry and didn’t go through all the rounds just like everyone else.

According to them, it was unfair. However, they didn’t know that Elliana was still not able to control her powers at a smaller level, and if she fought against grade 2- grade -3 witches, they would get terribly hurt.

The information about her being the daughter of the dark witch queen was still kept a secret from everyone in the witch kingdom except some main founding members, teachers, and dean.

Everyone only knew that she was a dark witch. And since performing dark magic was forbidden in this battle, no one had a problem with her fighting against white witches.

"Student Elliana, your letter and ID card," One of the teachers walked to her and Elliana turned around, her gaze meeting with the same teacher who had taken her meditation and concentration classes.

"Here," She showed the letter to the teacher, who nodded and grabbed the letter from her hand.

"Please come with me. We need to check your memories," The teacher said and Elliana nodded.

She followed the teacher to the psychic testing zone, noticing someone was already sitting there.

It was...

"Your memories will be checked after Charlotte," The teacher said, and Elliana realized it was the person she was supposed to go against in the semi-finals.

Elliana nodded at the teacher.

"Can I talk to the dean?" She asked, and the teacher pressed her lips into a thin line.

"Students are not allowed to talk to higher officials before the battle. Let me see what I can do," The teacher said before leaving, and Elliana sighed, looking at the girl who was sitting there with her eyes closed, her head in some kind of machine that almost looked like those steaming machines in a salon.

"It must be nice, no?" Charlotte suddenly spoke, catching Elliana’s attention, her tone holding a hint of mockery.

"What?" Elliana asked, keeping her voice neutral.

"To have a prince introduce you to the University and have everyone walking around you on eggshells because they don’t know if they can afford to offend you or not. The perks of good links. Unfortunately, people like you would never understand what normal witches like us have to go through to come this far. For you, it’s as easy as asking your lover boy to do something, no?" Charlotte said.

It was quite disrespectful. Not only was she humiliating Elliana, but she was humiliating her pure and sacred relationship with Nathaniel too. And it enraged Elliana a little.

Nathaniel was more than just a half-brother to her. He was the first person who believed in her, taught her good things, held her hand, wiped her tears, told her that everything would be alright, and has been sacrificing his happiness and life for her. Thus, hearing something wrong about him almost made her want to show Charlotte who she was talking to.

However, Elliana didn’t want to argue with the girl.

It would take up a lot of energy to get angry and revert to exactly what this girl said and Elliana was not up for wasting her energy at such a crucial time.

"What? Aren’t you going to say anything? Cat got your tongue now that I have spoken the truth?" Charlotte asked, standing from her place when a beep sound echoed in the room.

"Charlotte’s memories are clean," some systematic voice said, making the girl smirk at Elliana.

"Please be seated. I hope you haven’t asked your lover boy for some tips on how to win against us. After all, it all comes down to hard work and how much one can bear. Softies like you won’t ever understand the wounds of a battle," Charlotte scoffed and was about to walk away when she noticed the Dean rushing to the room.

Charlotte’s expression immediately turned ugly. Just like she had thought, this girl was a bit too influential.

Well, it was great. She won’t have a problem beating the shit out of this prince’s angel. It would actually be fun. And once she will deal with Elliana, all she will have to do was stand for the first fifteen minutes in the ring against the finalist and her name would be already written in the Annual magazine.

Charlotte smirked, leaning on the wall to see what she had to speak to the Dean about.

Then again, why did this girl call the dean in the first place?

There was no way Elliana would ask the dean to check her memories so that he can waive her mistakes, right?

Does that mean she has come here after asking her lover boy all the techniques to win this battle? Charlotte gritted her teeth.

If that were the case, she wouldn’t let this go easily and spread this word to the entire University before the battle could take place. Charlotte deliberately stopped near the exit to hear what they were going to talk about.

"What is it, dear Elliana?" The dean used the most polite and soft tone he could against one girl who showed him stars in broad daylight and almost killed him the last time he tried to feel her powers.

"Will that be okay if my memories aren’t seen by someone of lower grade than 10? It involves some not so nice things related to my family," Elliana whispered, not wanting anyone random from the University to see what has been going around her life.

The teacher with the psychic powers, who was behind the machine and checking everyone’s memories, stepped out as soon as he heard Elliana’s words, his gaze shifting to the dean.

"Are you unsure about this process or just don’t want anyone to see what’s happening in your life?" The teacher asked, and Elliana blinked her eyes.

"I want assurance that no one would be informed about my daily life and once you see and confirm that I am not cheating, you will forget about everything relating to my husband and those witches," Elliana said, being more precise, her words surprising Charlotte.

This girl was married? But she was sure that Prince Nathaniel was still single, then how is that possible? Was Nathaniel not her lover boy? If not, then how was she related to him?

"And I need unnecessary and unrelated people to move out," Elliana said, not looking at anyone in particular.

The dean’s gaze immediately shifted to the teacher who had called him here and Charlotte who was standing at some distance.

"You heard her. She can get this process done on her own. She is strong enough to handle that much piercing through her mind," The dean said.

Charlotte gritted her teeth. She didn’t like how the dean used the sentence ’strong enough to do it alone’.

According to him, they weren’t strong enough? Wasn’t it plain provoking them?

The urge to throw Elliana on the ground brutally until she wouldn’t be able to stand and show her face to anyone started to take over Charlotte, who smiled bitterly and nodded at the dean, moving out of the psychic inspection room.

The teacher followed suit before the dean walked out too.

Elliana looked at the psychic teacher and nodded at him to start the process.

She sat on the chair and let him place that machine over her head.

"I suggest you keep your powers and Magna on alert. I am an absorber and my powers might want to feed on yours," Elliana said politely, and the teacher smiled.

"Don’t worry about it, Student Elliana. Psychic powers can’t be acquired. That’s why I am in this position," The teacher comforted her, making her smile before she gulped and closed her eyes, ready for the process.
