Chapter 539: Don’t get angry
"What were you thinking, seriously?" Nathaniel raised his voice at the girl, who sat on the stool with her head bowed.
After thinking a lot, Elliana told Nathaniel what she was planning because she didn’t want to end up like one of those stupid heroines who don’t tell anyone anything and get into a bigger mess to beg others to help her later.
"You are scaring me," Elliana mumbled softly, her lips pouting as she puckered her bottom lip.
Nathaniel, who was pacing the laboratory, took a deep breath before ruffling his hair.
"You. Don’t you dare try to act! Use this method on your husband or lover or whoever he is to you," Nathaniel said, and Elliana hummed.
She stood from her place and grabbed her phone.
"Where are you going?" Nathaniel asked, confused.
"To use this method on Mr. Marino," Elliana blinked at Nathaniel, using her doe eyes this time.
The man looked at the insolent girl in front of him and sighed in frustration. He can never win her when it comes to talking, no?
"I swear I can’t be with you. Do you even have any idea what you were doing? Here we are doing everything in our power to keep you away from that woman, and you deliberately tried to seek her? And even tried to absorb her powers? Have you completely lost it? Do you even know that the woman you were trying to target probably drinks poison like water?" Nathaniel asked.
Elliana looked at her feet. She won’t lie. Nathaniel was right about this one thing. It was a mistake she wasn’t proud of.
If she had absorbed more of that woman’s poisonous Magna, things would’ve probably turned worse than she could imagine.
The itch and pain in her neck subsided after ten minutes when she drank 2 ltr of water to neutralize the poison in her system.
She called Nathaniel only after she ensured she was fine.
"What are you seriously thinking, Elliana?" Nathaniel asked before sitting on the stool and grabbing her good hand to pull her closer.
He looked at her wound which was healing slowly and sighed at the leftover hints of the green liquid that Elliana was talking about before furrowing his brows.
If the lady only wanted to teach Elliana a lesson and forced out her magic, why did the area around her wound turn black? Nathaniel looked at the wound closely.
"I want to teach them a lesson," Elliana said after some time.
"Hmm?" Nathaniel raised his gaze to look at her.
"Didn’t you ask me what I am planning? I am planning to teach them all a lesson. That lady probably wants revenge for what happened to her, but her revenge and rage won’t be bigger than a girl whose parents’ love was snatched from her for 18 years and suffered a life that was worse than hell in that human kingdom," Elliana said, her eyes immediately turning black.
Nathaniel was about to interrupt her when he noticed how as soon as Elliana’s eyes turned black, the mark glowed slightly.
"If she wants to take revenge and fight me with the poison in her head since she doesn’t have a heart to feel emotions, just imagine what kind of power I want to put into it with my head and heart. She just didn’t hurt me, she hurt my mom and dad too. She hurt you too. I will take everyone’s revenge," Elliana looked into the distance resolutely.
Nathaniel sighed before pulling her close and hugging her.
He didn’t know why he did that, but for some reason, he felt it was the right thing to do.
"Why do you have to be the one to fight, Elliana? We are here for you. We will fight for you. You just sit back and focus on enjoying this life -"
"I can’t enjoy anything with my loved ones in pain. This is not about revenge anymore. This is about peace. Everyone shall get what they deserve," Elliana whispered.
Nathaniel sighed and nodded at her.
"She left a mark," Nathaniel said after some time.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" Elliana asked, confused.
"The literal meaning, Elliana. This blackness around your wound is the indication that she wants to keep taking your anger, your rage," Nathaniel explained, noticing how Elliana’s anger that rose earlier was nowhere to be seen anymore.
It couldn’t be just because he hugged her, right?
"But why anger? If she wanted, she could take my powers and Magna. Why is she after my anger?" Elliana asked, confused.
Nathaniel sighed.
Why was she after her anger? Well, because maybe Azrael also identified the kind of danger that Elliana could pose to her. Maybe she could see that the girl who was able to accomplish a locator spell on a powerful witch like her, that even Pluto and he couldn’t, and was only growing stronger would become the biggest obstacle in her plans.
And what was the driving force behind Elliana’s power and tricks? It was her anger, her sense of revenge, and the rage filled inside her heart because of what she suffered at the hands of those people.
If that woman takes away the rage and anger from her, how will Elliana be able to keep the same energy and keep trying to find ways to put them down?
Besides, it was easier to absorb one particular emotion of a person and the energy utilized in it rather than absorbing the complete Magna. Though the damage was less, it was a long-term effective technique.
And of course, only a heartless person like Azrael was capable of doing it since she doesn’t thrive on emotions. The technique had its own side effects, but for someone like Azrael who has turned off her emotions, it was nothing.
"Let’s go," Nathaniel stood from his place.
"Go? But where? The battle is tomorrow, right? Do we need to-" Elliana started speaking, but one look from Nathaniel and she immediately shut up.
"I was just asking. You don’t have to be so mean about it," Elliana whispered, and Nathaniel couldn’t help but sigh.
"Elliana, my sunshine, this is not something that I can solve. I have to talk to someone about this first. This is something severe.
Also, till this issue is solved, you can’t get angry, okay? You have to stay as happy as you can. The more angry you will get, the more Magna she will be able to suck out of you. She is already so powerful. Let’s not give her more powers, yeah?" Nathaniel asked, and Elliana nodded.
She was about to say yes when her phone vibrated and she looked at the caller ID.
"Hello?"
"Misha this side," The reincarnated Siren queen said, and Elliana hummed.
"I know that. Why have you called?" Elliana asked before looking at Nathaniel, who signaled to her that he was leaving to find the solution and talk about it to his other witch friends.
This needed immediate attention.
Elliana nodded at him, making the man disappear.
"I wanted to ask you what you thought about those three Sirens I had told you about. You haven’t forgotten your part of the deal, right?" Misha asked, and Elliana, who had actually forgotten about it amidst everything, hummed.
"I remember. However, I am not going to ask Mr. Marino to let them go without conducting my own research about what they did to be able to get this far and if they manipulated someone with their siren powers. I hope you understand. Also, stop calling yourself Misha. I gave you this name because I thought you were my crew, my people, but -"
"I will always remain one of your people, Elliana. Whether you like it or not," Misha ended the call, making Elliana look at her phone in disbelief.
Seriously? The nerve of this Siren-
Elliana took a deep breath.
No. She can’t get angry, not even an ounce. She whispered to herself.
