Chapter 521: The horrors of Mainland witches

Leila walked into the Northern regions, hoping to see that one witch who called her out of nowhere.

Her heart was beating terribly, and her head was filled with dread.

The mistake she made was not a simple thing. Time after time she was getting beaten up at her own game by Elliana because of her presence of mind and good strategies.

First, Elliana scared her with the fire of hell, then she marked the magical realism where her father was captured, then she tailed her when she wasn’t even expecting it, and if that wasn’t enough, she found all about her plans one by one.

As she reached the inner chambers of the imaginary mansion in the middle of the ocean, Leila looked at the back of the witch who was standing with her stern posture, gazing at the large crystal ball in front of her.

"They got out of it unharmed. What are your plans?" Leila tried to go with the glow naturally so the witch wouldn’t identify her nervousness about anything.

The witch didn’t turn around to face her. She kept looking at the crystal ball before she clicked her fingers, making a scene appear in front of her where Sebastian was sitting close to Elliana who was lying in the bed with her eyes closed.

An evil smirk appeared on her face that wasn’t visible to Leila, who was gazing at the scene too.

"I never intended for them to die in a thing as small as this attack. The thing I needed to do with this attack, I have achieved that," The witch said.

Leila’s attention was snapped to the witch.

"What did you intend to plan, madam?" She asked meticulously, and the witch smiled again.

"Why do you want to know? So that you can leak the information to our enemies again because of your incompetence?" The witch asked, making Leila freeze in her place.

"Madam, that’s not what I -"

"Save it, Leila. Make a fool out of Arizona, who might believe your competence. Don’t forget who I am," The witch said, shitting Leila immediately, who looked down at her feet.

"Get ready for our next course of plan. We don’t have the entire year for this. Now that Elliana is weak and her powers would need recuperation time, this is the best time for us to strike too. The task is simple. We just have to kidnap her, perform the spell, use the siren powers inside her, and then bury her body in a coffin where no one will be able to find her for another six months. These six months are crucial for us," The witch said, and Leila pressed her lips into a thin line.

She didn’t know why, but the thought of having her Madam talk about killing Elliana and discarding her like she was some kind of rag didn’t make her feel right.

Leila looked at her feet.

"You don’t agree with me?" The witch asked, still looking at the crystal ball as a new scene appeared in front of her, making Leila’s eye widen as she quickly nodded.

"I do agree with your plans. It’s perfect. I think it’s great," Leila said when she looked at her sick sister on the bed, her eyes brimming with tears.

It was only a few days ago when her Madam let her know that one of her family members was indeed alive. She let her meet her sister, but the condition was the same. Leila needed to help her with her plans to aid the spell she was planning.

Leila gritted her teeth. This was really unfortunate.

To keep her sister alive, she would have to take someone else’s daughter away from her, and that is when Azura has lived an equally, or more unfortunate life than hers.

Earlier she was filled with malice for Azura because of how she threw her away from the Black Diamond nation, but seeing how she suffered and what she herself had done, Leila couldn’t blame her anymore.

"Stop right there, Leila. The birth of this pity in your heart for them is more than enough to ruin my entire plan. Are you feeling sympathy? Do you feel compassion? Should I give you a reason for your sister to hate you instead?" The witch asked.

"No, Madam. I will try my best to aid your plans, irrespective of what goes on inside my heart. These feelings are natural living instincts but I will get over them," Leila seethed through her teeth.

She looked at the back of the emotionless witch before bowing.

"I will be taking my leave then," Leila said, going straight to Arizona as she had called her to.

As soon as Leila entered the Himalayan regions and the hidden chambers, she was greeted by Prakrith, who looked her up and down.

"So you are here with some news about Elliana again? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?" Prakrith scoffed.

Leila looked at the witch in front of her, and anguish rose in her heart. Why was everyone blaming her? Why was everyone making it look like it was her fault and that it was her who was doing it all rather than the witches they were following?

It was similar to the messenger getting hate even when the King planned all the battle’s deaths.

"I am a mere spy. You were one of the witches who protected Elliana as her own. You aided Nathaniel and acted like his friend too. I never liked Azura because of what she did to me, but you? What reasons do you have for acting like this? Are you sure I should be the one to be ashamed of myself?" Leila asked.

She was already having a rough time juggling between these mainland Queens who were making her life a hell with their orders and her own conscience beating her with guilt, she didn’t need one more witch to come and tell her what she was doing was wrong.

Prakrith looked at Leila with a neutral expression. She didn’t show it, but what Leila said indeed hit the spot, just like others, she was tied in the name of loyalty.

Thus, even when she knew her queen was in the wrong, she could only be with her and support her in her wrong decisions.

As much as she hated to be a part of it, this was her reality. Unlike Jalizana and Karizana, she didn’t have the opportunity to stay away from this mess to handle her department. Her department was related to Arizona, and that was more than enough of a reason for her to stay close to her queen.

"The queen is expecting you, and regarding whether I should be ashamed or not, at least I am not the one directly hurting the girl. I am just a helpless pawn and supporter, nothing more, but I am not aiding their plans, like you," Prakrith turned around, leaving.

Blinded with her anger, Leila was about to turn around and leave, not in the mood to meet with Queen and getting her mood spoiled even more when she saw Arizona walking out of her chambers and looking at her.

"What took you so long?" Arizona asked.

"I was busy with -"

"It doesn’t matter. Come inside. I have something to show you," Arizona cut her off before going back inside, and Leila sighed before following the witch nonetheless.

As soon as Leila walks inside, her eyes widen when she looks at the thing in front of her.

"What is this?" She looked at the large energy magna collecting in the middle of the room.

The almost black color of the magna along with red sparkles indicated that it was dark energy, and Leila gulped.

"This is... " Leila looked at Arizona, who had a proud smile on her face.

"The energies of all the people who died in the vampire kingdom today. I collected the dark energies of all the rogue vampires. Didn’t I say? I will provoke my sister to do something that will make her go crazy and start a battle and will benefit me," Arizona looked at the dark magna with an evil grin before looking at Leila.

"I am sure she did it all to weaken Elliana. She probably wants to kidnap Elliana soon now. However, she is mistaken if she thinks Sebastian will leave Elliana’s side at a time like this. I had this planned all along. I knew she would plan an attack, and that’s why I had already expanded my horizon of power absorption at this device," Arizona pointed at the machine.

"It was created by Nathaniel when he was experimenting with things. I told him it was an evil unacceptable death machine, and I would discard it, but I had kept it aside because I liked the outlook of it. I didn’t know it would come in handy like this. With all this dark energy collected, can any witch stay alive after being hit by it all together?" Arizona smirked, and Leila gulped at the dark magna of more than 1500 rogue vampires collected like a nuclear magna.

This was pure madness. She stepped back in horror.
