Chapter 465: A grand ceremony needed for three words
Sebastian placed her under the shower head, looking at her from head to toe with an expression that was hard to decipher.
"Today I felt something, Princess," Sebastian whispered before starting the shower at a slow drip so he could talk to her.
He fell on his knees before looking up at her, the water falling in his eyes, making Elliana’s eyes soften. She instinctively stepped forward to shield him from the water so he could look at her without any difficulty.
"What is it?" She asked, touching his mask softly.
"This... What you are doing... I realized this today," Sebastian said before he snaked his hand around her waist and pulled her closer.
"You shield me, princess. You shield me from my own negativity and stop me from being the monster I am. Because the moment you left my side, it was almost as if I lost control over everything. It wasn’t a good feeling, princess," Sebastian said, placing his head on her navel.
She looked at the man who was showing his vulnerable side to her and felt like the biggest cheater in the world. Her eyes brimmed with tears for the umpteenth time today.
It was true in a way. She was cheating him by hiding the truth from him.
He thinks that she is his protector, the reason behind his smiles and calmness, but what will he do when he realizes that she is also the reason he is like this in the first place? It wasn’t her fault, but according to what Nathaniel indicated, it was someone from her witch family who put this curse on him.
A rogue tear fell from her eyes and she blinked her eyes before placing her hand on his hair.
"I will always protect you from negativity, Mr. Marino," Elliana whispered, promising to help him with this curse and return all the love he missed from his family and people.
’Even if that negativity in your life starts with me, I will remove it. I am ready to burn in agony to give you that midnight gentle sleep that you could never have,’ Elliana told herself before sighing.
"You are getting wet," Elliana whispered after a few minutes and Sebastian hummed before nodding.
"I know, right? Why am I the only one getting wet?" He asked, looking up with a knowing smile, making Elliana chuckle sadly at his words as she shook her head at him.
"You need to leave for me to be able to freshen up quickly. My exams are finally over. I need to have a proper long sleep," Elliana said, and Sebastian stood from his place before looking at her dress that was sticking to her skin now.
He looked into her eyes, her wet hair sticking on her face, making her even more alluring than ever.
"You are so beautiful that it hurts. Every second without you, away from you, hurts," Sebastian tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear and looked back into her eyes before smiling behind the mask.
"I -"
’I love you,’ Sebastian was about to whisper to her, but he froze in his place when the thought came to his mind.
He gulped, looking at his princess’s unadulterated expression.
No. She didn’t deserve this. She deserved a grand ceremony for this sentence because it wasn’t just three words but his entire heart that he wanted to pour out to her.
"You?" Elliana asked, slightly confused with the expression in his eyes, and Sebastian masked the expression quickly behind a smirk.
"I want to help you take a shower," Sebastian whispered.
Elliana’s pupils dilated at the insinuation behind his words.
"Do you need my help?" Sebastian grabbed the fabric of her dress near her abdomen, and a blush immediately appeared on her neck.
"No, Mr. Marino. I can take care of this much. I will take a bath myself. Go," she said, and he sighed.
"That’s the problem. Why can you take care of yourself? It doesn’t hurt to take a little help, you know," he paused before grabbing her jaws, forcing her to look up.
He cursed in his mind.
If he hadn’t been wearing this full mask, he would’ve kissed the senses out of her until she would’ve begged him to take her. And though he could still do it by asking her to close her eyes, he wanted her to look at him while he took care of her.
Just one and a half days more, and then he will show his face to her. He will show her that he trusts her more than his life. And once he removed his mask, nothing could stop him from taking her like the beat he was.
Sebastian smiled at his own thoughts. He can’t even imagine how shocked she would be when she realized Tian and him were the same.
"Not even a little bit?" He asked, smelling her intoxicating scent, and she hummed.
"Go," she said again, making him sigh.
Sebastian walked out of the bathroom, his gaze falling on the file that was in his Princess’s hand earlier.
He wanted to look into it, but he needed to deal with Vincenzo first.
It was strange. And it irked him. How did his brother reach the place where his princess was?
And was it a mere coincidence that he called him right at the time? Why did his brother call him in the first place?
Was there something that Vincenzo and Princess were collectively hiding from him?
No. His princess might have secrets, but she wouldn’t hurt him intentionally. She wasn’t that kind of person. She was too good for her own good and needed his protection from the world instead.
The Duke’s words echoed in Sebastian’s head about Vincenzo being one of the suspected princes, who could’ve taken help from a dark witch to hurt his people.
If he thought in that direction, what was the possibility that the witches wanted to hurt him too? What was his brother gaining in all this? The attack he made was fatal and could’ve been in his palace too.
There was no way his brother was doing it only to help Prince Stephano get the throne, what else was he getting out of it?
His princess? Sebastian’s heart thumped loudly at the possibility of things.
He didn’t want to think like that. He didn’t want to think that his brother who was the most intelligent, and mature when it came to relationships and sympathy for others would do or think something like that, but their interactions, the way he looked at his princess couldn’t be ignored either.
Sebastian leaned on one of the pillars to get his emotions in control.
He wished whatever his negative mind was making him think was wrong. Because if the slightest fraction of it was true, he wouldn’t think twice before annihilating his own brother for hurting his people and trying to take the only happiness in his life.
Sebastian thought, unaware of the fact that life has bigger major turns scheduled for him soon and the crowning ceremony was coming to him with a bigger price to pay in return.
