Chapter-466

"You took your time," Vincenzo said, and Sebastian, who had barely returned to the room to change his clothes remembering he had gotten wet too, looked at his brother, his mind still processing all the information.

"Anyway, you had called me before I came to know Princess was nowhere to be found. What was that all about?" Sebastian sat before nodding at Miss Zoya who immediately bowed and went to the kitchen to bring some snacks.

Vincenzo looked at his brother carefully.

He didn’t answer immediately. Rather, he sat and observed.

From the way Sebastian was looking at him neutrally with little to no expression in his eyes, it was clear his brother suspected him and Vincenzo sighed.

He knew he would have to face this suspicion either way. And he was prepared for it.

"About the vampires who had attacked those wolves. I found out they were hired by the second royal family," Vincenzo said.

Sebastian hummed before placing his left leg over his right as he leaned back in his seat.

"I think we already covered that part. What’s new?" Sebastian asked.

"Well, the vampires weren’t hired directly by the second royal family. They were hired by the assistant of Prince Harry. I am not sure if Brother Stephano told you about this, but he had made an allegation that the Princess was present near the place from where Prince Harry was abducted," Vincenzo said, bringing out a new point that surprised Sebastian too.

All the doubts he had in his head about his brother trying to take away his wife immediately got replaced with this piece of information.

He tried to think about what happened that night and his brows furrowed.

Right. He remembered leaving his Princess to go to their designated room herself because he wanted to talk to his grandfather and others about the plans. She had fainted during the party and he wanted her to rest.

However, she ended up getting intoxicated because of Victoria giving her a drug and the rest was all about him taking care of her. But it happened the next day, right?

He had stayed in the meeting room for a couple of hours until the commotion of Prince Harry’s disappearance started.

The main question was what happened in those couple of hours?

"Is Princess Elliana busy?" Vincenzo asked, and Sebastian looked at his brother before humming vaguely.

"Can we talk outside where we are sure she won’t be able to hear us?" Vincenzo asked, his every word confusing Sebastian even more.

He nodded nonetheless and stood from his place, making Vincenzo follow the man.

Once they were inside the soundproof room, Sebastian looked at Vincenzo for further explanation about what he was trying to say.

"I am going to tell you what happened that night before Prince Harry disappeared. And I hope you can listen to it without getting agitated. Do I have your word?" Vincenzo asked, and Sebastian hummed.

"Well, that night I went to meet Elliana when all of you were present in the meeting room, in the name of going out to think things through," Vincenzo confessed, glaring at Sebastian when the man nearly snarled at him.

"Continue," Sebastian took a deep breath, and Vincenzo sighed.

"I went there to ask her why she was neglecting our friendship, but that’s another issue.

She didn’t open the door for me. Or should I say, she was too scared to open the door because it wasn’t you? Before I went there, someone else visited the Princess. And I hope I don’t have to tell you the name," Vincenzo paused.

"Harry?" Sebastian’s eyes turned dark at the thought of that man hurting or scaring his princess.

He had indeed seen a vague mark on her neck and asked about it, but he had never thought that the mark was left by Harry. If he had known, he would’ve killed Harry before anyone would’ve been able to take him away.

"Yes, Prince Harry. He went to her room and tried to force himself on her. She was quite scared. So scared that she wasn’t even ready to tell me who it was. I had to force the words out of her mouth," Vincenzo paused.

Each pause Vincenzo took was making Sebastian want to destroy things. Everything might have happened a month ago, but it hurt him.

Why didn’t she say anything?

The next day when he had met the princess on the dining table, she smiled at him as if nothing had happened. Did she feel like he wouldn’t take her side or avenge her tears? That he wouldn’t want to punish the man who dared to lay a hand on her? Sebastian felt helpless and angry with himself that he couldn’t see the fear in her eyes.

Then again, was there really any fear in her eyes? When he saw her, it was almost as if she was happy. Could it be that she was happy with Harry’s disappearance? That made sense to him.

"What are you trying to indicate, Vincenzo?" Sebastian asked, and Vincenzo sighed.

"The presence of Princess’s earring from the place where Harry’s hand was found and her presence near the place from where he was suspected to vanish or disappear, don’t they ring any bells? You remember Queen Jennifer coming at you and trying to curse you because she thought you killed him, right?" Vincenzo said and Sebastian hummed.

"So are you trying to say that the second royal family is after my princess because they blame me for the vanishing of the prince and want to harm what is closest to me? My wife?" Sebastian asked and Vincenzo nodded again.

"They have been trying to collect information about her, and the fact that they were able to reach the werewolves when we didn’t even know a thing about her relationship with them, speaks a lot. They are stalking her. And it’s not even the second royal family. I suspect it’s Harry’s assistant who is doing all this," Vincenzo stood from his place and walked to the large painting in the room, observing it carefully.

"You remember he had a friend during childhood that he had killed himself because you said that friend was with him for benefits only and then you had drunk the friend’s blood, making him even angrier?" Vincenzo asked before turning around.

"You never once considered or thought why was that? He liked males, Sebastian. It was a secret that was well hidden by the second royal family, and that was the same reason he wasn’t married when his other family members were. Chances are, his secretary was also his love interest and he is taking revenge for Prince Harry’s death from you. If the princess is found there, who would be the first person to attack Harry?" Vincenzo stopped.

His body froze in its place when his own words messed up his head.

If his Glory was there, who was the first person to attack Harry? Vincenzo chanted the question again in his head when things started to clear.

They were never able to retrieve Harry’s body. Glory indeed mentioned that sometimes she has no control over her powers. She got the powers or the knowledge about them after she returned from prison.

Harry had threatened Glory and tried to force himself on her. She was scared. That thunder claps, the anguish in her eyes paired with the frustration of being helpless, the serene smile on her face the other day, and not even a single hint of fear or anger of what happened the previous night, everything started making sense in a more twisted way to him.

Everyone was panicking, but she was the only one who looked least affected, not to mention how she also knew he was the last one to meet Prince Harry and was confident that neither he nor Sebastian killed the guy.

What were the chances that the person who killed Prince Harry was none other than Glory?

And if she was able to kill a prince as strong as Prince Harry who was counted among the top 50 vampires of the nation in the royal kingdom full of most powerful vampires without leaving a trace, what were the chances of her becoming even stronger to hurt anyone who would come after Sebastian?

Vincenzo stumbled back in shock before shaking his head.

"So they are after me now. How -" Sebastian couldn’t complete his sentence when he looked at Vincenzo’s shocked face.

"Are you alright?" Sebastian asked, snapping Vincenzo out of his thoughts.

"I... Yeah, I am fine. I just remembered I have some work to do. You take care of her and be careful yourself," Vincenzo said before he rushed out of the palace, leaving Sebastian confused by his actions again.

His brother was surely becoming a mystery with each passing day. He had nearly thought that he was here for his wife, but he doesn’t cease to surprise him again and again, no?

Sebastian sighed before pondering over what his brother told him.

Prince Harry’s assistant. It looks like he found his first target after getting the throne.
