Sebastian sped up his car.

There was no way he was going to let her go away from him in a fit of anger and let anyone tell her how her anger was justified because it was not.

She had no right to feel sad when she wasn’t with him. He was the only one who should be allowed to see her tears. He should be the only one she should ride on.

’I agree,’ the beast inside him nodded and Sebastian clenched his teeth at his own thoughts. His mind was truly starting to become a lewd mess when it came to her without even trying.

’Let me concentrate. I need to find her and bring her back. I can’t let her stay angry at me for so long,’ Sebastian said.

He accelerated the car, looking around to see any hint that could tell him where his princess must’ve gone.

’Watch out!’ Sebastian’s beast who always observes his surroundings in his subconscious mind warned Sebastian, forcing him to look in front of him.

"Fuck,"

Sebastian quickly turned the steering wheel, making the car turn around, and stop with a screeching sound as it circulated in its place.

If he hadn’t stopped the car in time, he would’ve ended up hitting the tree and damaging the car which would’ve delayed him finding his princess.

Sebastian stepped out of the car with his jaws clenched, slamming the door shut as he looked at the man in front of him with a glare.

"Have you completely lost your mind? What were you trying here?" Sebastian asked, his voice deep and full of coldness as he looked at the witch.

"Just one answer. That’s all I need, Sebastian,"

Sebastian’s gaze turned darker.

"I don’t have time for your fucking games. Don’t test my patience when I am already short of it. I need to find my princess," Sebastian hissed.

He was afraid his princess would really forget about her exams and leave to find those vampires and avenge the death of those wolves who were like a family to her.

"This question is related to her only. She is sitting near the lake. I am sure you know it’s her favorite spot. And she isn’t angry with you or something, so don’t worry about her. She just needs some time to digest what she saw in that house and -"

"How do you know all this?" Sebastian asked, his beast growling inside him that a witch was keeping an eye on his princess.

"This isn’t the first or second time this is happening either. You had come to meet her recently too. What is it to you that you keep bothering her? Have you forgotten who she belongs to? That it won’t take me a minute to snap your neck into two?" Sebastian asked, a scowl playing on his lips.

Nathaniel subconsciously took a step back. While he wasn’t any less strong, he didn’t have any doubt in his heart that in a one-on-one battle, Sebastian could beat him to a pulp.

"What is the question? Get on with it," Sebastian rolled his eyes when Nathaniel didn’t say anything and was only wasting his time.

"Madeline Heart, did you kill her?" Nathaniel asked.

Sebastian looked at the witch for a couple of seconds before his frown turned into a smirk and he leaned on his car.

"So, did you like my art?" He asked, his eyes shining brightly as a lopsided smile appeared on his face.

Nathaniel gulped, remembering the shadow saying the same words in that crystal ball they saw.

He couldn’t believe it. He has only heard things about his beast but never faced or seen him in his primal mode, but seeing how he was able to predict a witch’s future action, just how mysterious was it?

"Why?" Nathaniel asked, not wanting him to feel the wariness inside him.

"If you know so much about my princess, you should know why. That girl had the audacity to touch my princess and hurt her emotionally. So I hurt her internally too" Sebastian looked proud of the work he did.

Nathaniel really wanted Elliana to come and see this side of Sebastian, but judging from how she is in love with the man, he was afraid that she would take his side and swoon over how he killed that girl for her.

He sighed and took a deep breath.

"But weren’t you the one who stopped Elliana from doing that? You clearly know how badly it can affect -"

Sebastian scoffed.

"I don’t need to explain anything to you, Nathaniel. However, just for future reference, there won’t be anything or anyone who would hurt my wife and live peacefully," Sebastian looked straight into Nathaniel’s eyes.

"If I have to kill the last person on this Earth and it will ensure her safety and happiness, I would do it and kill everyone, including myself if she wants," Sebastian’s eyes turned dark scarlet and Nathaniel knew the devil inside him wanted to take over.

"For her, I can kill and die. This beast inside me is fucking obsessed with her. And this obsession stays happy when she is smiling. But when she is sad and hurt, this beast wants to burn down the world for her. Regarding how badly it will impact her, I am standing in front of her as her shield. Anything that will come to her has to go through me," Sebastian said.

Nathaniel’s heart skipped a beat at Sebastian’s choice of words.

This was the sole reason. This obsession of this beast with his Princess’s happiness was the sole reason that he didn’t regret sending her to Sebastian Marino or feel bad that she loved him.

"I will even fight the moon goddess to keep that smile on her face. No one and nothing is coming between us. I hope I have answered your question -" Sebastian paused.

"How did you find it was me? I am sure you guys can’t see me in the shadows," Sebastian narrowed his brows at Nathaniel, who sighed.

"That’s because we didn’t see you but the witch you asked to teleport Madeline’s body to her room," Nathaniel scoffed.

After looking into the crystal ball, they were highly convinced it was Elliana who killed Madeleine.

However, to second confirm their doubt since it came down to punishing Elliana for this sin according to the dark witch laws, they had gone to the room where Madeline’s dead body was covered under a white cloth that almost turned red from all the blood.

Azura permitted Nathaniel and Camere to touch the body of the girl and find whatever truth they could. It was at that time they saw hints of another witch being involved and the vibes clearly said it was a white witch.

They would’ve thought it was Arizona who made her presence known again if not for the grade of the witch powers.

Nathaniel went to the University of the Witches to see if the aura matched with any of the teachers since it felt strangely familiar and just like he had guessed, it matched with Madonna.

He remembered the dean’s words when he told him that Sebastian had a good relationship with the witch.

Since they couldn’t see the shadow and Madonna was involved, he had made the wild guess that Elliana probably only came to threaten the girl again and didn’t do anything.

However, he needed to hear it from the man in question.

Nathaniel looked at the unapologetic man and sighed.

Honestly speaking, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Nathaniel kind of felt ashamed of himself. He keeps saying he won’t let anyone hurt Elliana and will protect her from the world, but what has he done for her really?

Why couldn’t he think like Sebastian who was ready to destroy himself for her? Nathaniel deep down knew that at the end of the day, Sebastian was doing it all for the throne and she was nothing more than a stepping stone for him, but what kind of care was this where he claimed to not even care about himself?

If this was false, just how good his acting really was? And if it was true, just how insane his obsession was?

"So you are here to punish me? Give me a lecture about how I broke some laws and -"

"Thank you," Nathaniel said, his words stopping Sebastian from speaking further.

Sebastian observed the man in front of him, his expression unreadable.

"Why do you care so much about her, Nathaniel? How are you related to her? And I only expect the truth from you," Sebastian asked after a drawn-out pause and Nathaniel smiled.

It wasn’t one of those amused smiles but the ones where you try to hide your pain.

"You want to know the answer? Here it is-" Nathaniel took a deep breath.
