Chapter 434: Calming his princess
"Oh, my Cara. What did you do to yourself? How could you harm something that was mine? Don’t you know you are not allowed?" Sebastian whispered to her, his forehead ticking when he saw her trembling lower lip.
"Prince Sebastian, she needs psychic help to snap out of whatever maze she is stuck in and -" Pluto stopped when Nathaniel held his hand.
Nathaniel shook his head at his friend.
This friend of his already created big trouble and he hated him for it, but he didn’t want him to indulge with the beast and end up losing his life.
He didn’t know what it was, but seeing Sebastian, for some reason, he knew that he would be able to help her without them needing to use any magic. As much as he hated to know it, that was the truth.
If it had been earlier, he would’ve been able to calm her too because at that time he used to hug her, kiss her cheeks and forehead, and coax her with her hand on his heart to calm her down, but things were different now.
Sebastian felt his heart squeezing when he heard her whisper.
"Just kill me, please. I can’t take it anymore. No more betrayals, please," Elliana whispered in her anxiety attack again, her face turning pale like a sheet of paper.
It almost felt like someone asked for his life and plunged their hands on his chest before clenching his heart. It was that painful for him.
"Hey, hey, baby, look at me. Open your eyes, my Cara. What is it? I will handle it all. No one will betray you. The bad days are gone. I am here. Please calm down baby, and take soft breaths. For me, for your Mr. Marino," Sebastian coaxed her, caressing her hair as he pulled her close to his heart, sighing when he felt her trembling body against his.
"Shhh, my Cara. How much will you cry, my baby? You are scaring me. You know how much I care for you, don’t you? What do you want from me? You know my beast won’t let you go. And for you to keep close, he will fight the Grim Reaper too. We can’t live without you. You know my heart is a safe place for you. Come and make your home like you have taken the entire place already," Sebastian whispered sweet nothing in her head.
He hugged her closer to himself, rocking her like a child.
"Can you concentrate on me, Cara? You promised me you would tell me every time you were in pain. So why am I hearing about it from others," Sebastian felt agitated, but he knew he needed to cure his princess first.
"You know how much you mean to me, fight? Your prints start from my body and end on my soul. You have become my life. My subordinates have started to use your name now to calm me and save themselves from any severe punishment. I don’t know if the moon goddess is real or not, but when I met you, I knew there was someone who couldn’t see me in eternal pain," Sebastian whispered to her.
Pluto looked at his friend, who was just standing in the corner, watching the girl he loved being coaxed by another man, and felt guilty about whatever happened tonight.
It must be a tragic situation for Nathaniel. Neither can he leave the room because he needs to ensure she is safe, nor can he look at what is happening in front of him without getting hurt. Pluto looked down at his feet in shame.
"How can you say you want to leave me? Don’t you know I will chase you through hell? Because I am sure I have tainted you a bit more for the angels to allow you. You have to go to hell, and it won’t be a problem for me to bring you from there. Don’t you know you are a devil’s possession?" Sebastian asked.
Nathaniel looked at the man in front of him, not knowing how to react.
Was he the same dangerous man who wouldn’t let anyone even near him? He knew that Elliana was falling for this man and that he took great care of her, but this? This was the first time he saw it in person, and for some reason, he didn’t feel bad losing Elliana anymore.
Maybe she would be more happy with him, a person who wasn’t afraid of showing what he felt without a care who was standing in front of him.
It was almost like seeing a beast blowing air on a human’s scratches.
When her breathing wasn’t evening and they noticed she was going back into that maze of self-depreciation, Pluto stepped ahead.
"I know I might be crossing a line, Prince Sebastian, but she really needs help. You -"
"It’s all about snapping her out of the maze, right? I don’t need someone else’s help to heal my wife," Sebastian glared at the witch before he pulled out a dagger from his pocket, making Pluto’s pupils dilate.
Woah, what the hell? Don’t tell him he was going to cut Princess to snap her out.
"Princess, I got hurt. It’s too much blood. Please help me. I need blood," Sebastian whispered in her ears before he grabbed the sharp side of the blade and raised his hand over her lips, letting the blood drop on her lips.
Nathaniel gulped as he saw Elliana clenching her hand around Sebastian’s wrist and biting into his flesh.
He didn’t know his princess was already showing signs of being a siren. It was a good thing that it was a vampire’s blood and not a human’s or she would’ve broken all the locks in a second.
"Princess," Nathaniel immediately stood straight when Elliana calmed down completely and opened her eyes, fully conscious of her surroundings.
The first thing that came into her vision was a shirt’s button and Elliana gulped when she realized there were warm hands wrapped around her body.
She remembered what had happened and what led to this situation, her heart skipping a beat and beating loudly, thinking about what she would explain to him and -
"You don’t have to explain anything to me before the time you have demanded to open up to me. I will wait for your explanation patiently, Cara," Sebastian whispered before he placed his lips on her forehead, making a new wave of tears fall from the corner of her eyes as she threw herself on him and hugged him tighter.
"It always happens to me. Why do my own parents want to kill me? Why can’t I receive love from them? Aaaaaaa," Elliana cried in his chest, making Sebastian take a deep breath as he let her cry and take all her emotions out on him.
He kept caressing her hair and patting her back as she broke his heart with her cries.
What was so tragic that she was crying like this? Did those filthy humans do something to hurt her again? Sebastian gritted his teeth.
"Aaaaaa," Elliana cried in his chest for what felt like hours before her cries started to change into hiccups as she slowly started to fall asleep in his arms, in a place where she felt the safest.
Sebastian sighed after he heard her faint breathing and finally raised his gaze to meet the two witches who had been looking at his Princess.
"I hope you have a good explanation of what was happening here," Sebastian whispered as he tried to put Elliana on the bed.
However, she didn’t let go of his shirt and he gave up eventually, giving the witches a leeway to disappear.
Sebastian sighed and looked at his sleeping princess.
"Till when are you going to protect them?" he whispered to her before kicking his slippers away and getting properly into the bed with her.
