The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 42: Entice feelings
Chapter 42: Entice feelings
"Are you out of your mind?!" Alcinder rushed and held her hand, stopping her immediately, and Elliana turned to him with angry eyes.
"Leave my hand," Elliana’s voice was sweet as always but held a dangerous hint to it, and Alcinder looked into her eyes, observing her carefully.
"No," he said without explaining, and Elliana pursed her lips.
"What do you want, Mr. Alcinder?" She asked, her eyes moist, and Alcinder sighed.
"I want you to stop acting foolish and in the heat of anger. I can’t believe I am the one saying this to a human when it should’ve been the other way around," Alcinder pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. He didn’t want to deal with this, but he had no choice whatsoever because he couldn’t leave her alone either.
"Let me go, Mr. Alcinder. I want to ask them who sent them here to hurt me," Elliana tried to push Alcinder and run away, but he didn’t budge from his place.
She pushed further and started running, smiling when the running became so effortless. She didn’t know she had it in herself to push a vampire away. She felt proud of herself.
Why does she feel like she was running in the clouds? Is her chakra control extending even more and making her more powerful? It was almost as if she was-
"What are you doing?" Alcinder asked when he saw her flailing her legs like a naughty kid, and Elliana realized she wasn’t running but hanging in the air.
Elliana- "..." It means she was indeed running in the air?
Her lips pursed, and she scowled at Alcinder.
He had picked her in the air effortlessly as if she was some kind of doll, and now that she was scowling so much, she looked even cuter.
Alcinder kept gazing at her, waiting for her to calm down and stop her flailing legs.
After a few seconds, when Elliana noticed he had no intention of leaving her, she huffed and stopped, looking at him with big innocent eyes, and Alcinder rolled his eyes.
There is no way he was falling for these tricky eyes. Alcinder looked into her eyes resolutely, and seeing her pouting her lips even more, he sighed and ruffled his hair.
"Fine. I’ll put you down. But you are not going anywhere," Alcinder said, leaning above her as he backed her into a tree.
With his hand right above her head, he leaned his body to show his intimidating self, and Elliana looked up before smiling innocently, making his heart melt immediately.
Seriously, how is it that he can’t bear to stay close to any girl, but this particular girl has successfully evoked feelings of protectiveness twice already? Alcinder bit the inside of his cheeks, his resolution breaking already as she looked at him with an unadulterated expression.
There is no way she was the same girl who was fighting those boys earlier. His brows knitted in contemplation.
He didn’t see her fighting, but the way she walked to those boys with those hooded eyes, it was obvious that she wasn’t some easygoing person who would get bullied by some lowlife boys.
Her aura at that time, for that particular time, was different than what he had witnessed so far.
As the breeze around them picked its pace, Alcinder noticed Elliana shivering a bit because of the cold and tucked the loose strand of her hair behind her ears before taking off his overshirt and placing it on her shoulders.
"Mr. Alcimder-" Elliana wanted to protest, but he placed a finger on her lips.
"Keep it," His words were curt as he gazed at her with mixed emotions.
How can a person look this beautiful even after she is so dirty? He wondered.
"Let’s get you out of this attire. I am sure you don’t want to walk out of this forest looking like this. How could you even think of running behind those boys toward the university? Don’t you know what you are looking like?" Alcinder asked.
With a sigh, thinking he might’ve hurt her since she was a victim in this scenario, he cupped her cheeks before massaging her jaws with his thumb.
"You are beautiful, Elliana, but right now, you are looking weirdly seductive. Your clothes are sticking to your body. Let’s not make other vampires and humans objectify you badly. You won’t want that. As a girl, you know what I mean, right?" Alcinder asked, his eyes glowing slightly, and Elliana nodded meekly.
He was right in a way. As much as she hated to believe it, she didn’t want to go out of here looking like this. Melony was the only person she could ask for help through her phone, apart from Mr. Marino, and she didn’t know if she should trust a new vampire so easily.
She had developed trust issues long ago, and it takes her a lot of effort to believe someone. Though she acts nicely with everyone, it doesn’t mean she trusts them blindly.
Her life in prison changed her perspective of people greatly, and she was thankful to her prison mates there.
She looked in the direction where the boys left and sighed dejectedly.
There is no doubt Elliana wanted to follow those boys. She wanted to know who sent them. When she asked them about it earlier, she had seen one of them looking uncomfortable, and Elliana was sure they knew exactly who gave them this order and money.
It frustrated her that she couldn’t get the name of the person. She might not be able to do anything alone, but if that person is some vampire, the vampire prince might want to interject, no?
"Can you leave me alone for some time? I want to figure out my thoughts," Elliana hesitated to take the help of Alcinder, and she made it very clear when she stepped back and gently removed his hand from her face.
There were two reasons behind that.
First, Mr. Alcinder was influential, even if he was only a rowdy badass boy in college since everyone bowed down to him.
Second, she didn’t want to get into a pickle with that girl Samantha, who grabbed her just because ’her’ Alcinder helped Elliana once. She didn’t want to give that lovesick vampire any wrong impressions.
"I will be a hundred meters away. You can figure out whatever you want, but I am not letting you out of here in this attire. It will be quicker to go to a shop or car in my hands. I will let you use my vampire abilities once," Alcinder said like it was some great deal he was offering, and Elliana pursed her lips to stop the smile itching on her face before she turned and walked away without saying anything.
As soon as she reached enough distance, she immediately dropped the neutral expression on her face, and her brows knitted together. Too many things happened for her to comprehend her mind around it. Her thoughts were a complete mess.
Who wanted to hurt her? Why would they want her out of college? Who would pay these humans - Elliana’s thoughts took an immediate halt when a thought occurred to her.
Could it be Madeline? She is the only person Elliana could think of. She knows no other human on the campus who would want her out of there. A vampire wouldn’t have gone through this kind of struggle. Besides, she doesn’t even know many vampires here.
Madeline or Aditya are the only humans she knows, and even if Aditya was a douchebag himself, Elliana was sure he wouldn’t do anything like this.
She sighed and leaned on a tree, her hands aching because of the actions.
Her throat felt itchy and ached terribly because of how Carl tried to drown her in the water. She won’t be surprised if there is a mark on her neck too.
As she leaned, it was as if someone placed a warm blanket on her as she felt comfortable and sighed.
She only wanted to try and look for Nath. She had never expected she would go through something like this. It also meant that Madeline was keeping an eye on her, or there was no way she would know when Elliana left the college building for the forest.
"Elliana?" Elliana heard a voice and turned towards it, only to feel the loss of the warmth that she was feeling from nature.
"What happened?" Daniel inched closer, and she pursed her lips before looking down at her feet, unable to form any words to explain the situation.
"I was practicing being a heroine?" She said in her innocent sweet voice, and Daniel sighed before he caressed her cheeks.
"Stupid girl. Why do you keep getting into trouble and enticing this feeling of being protective towards you in me?" Daniel said at the same time Alcinder walked to them.
"Thank you for telling me what happened. You don’t have to worry about it, Alcinder. I will take her to a shop and get her out of this attire and situation," Daniel said, barely keeping his anger for whoever wanted to hurt this human, and Alcinder noticed how Elliana didn’t hesitate before she lifted her hands for Daniel to pick her up.
It was as if Daniel was her guardian who had come to the school to take this naughty kid and get her treated.
Alcinder didn’t know what kind of emotion it was, but it was so strong that, without thinking twice, he rushed and lifted Elliana in his arms, shocking both Elliana and Daniel.
"Mr. Alcinder," Elliana looked at him in confusion.
"I told you I would get you cleaned. I don’t go back on my words. It’s my responsibility now," Alcinder said, and Daniel looked at him with scrunched brows.
What was wrong with Alcinder? He never goes to this length to help anyone. Not to mention how a clean freak like him was soiling his clothes without caring about them.
"I am coming with you," Daniel said, and Alcinder nodded.
Meanwhile, Madeline, who was waiting for the good news from the boys, became more anxious as time passed.
"Hey, you okay? Are you waiting for someone’s text or call? You have been looking at your phone since we entered this shop," Aditya said, and Madeline smiled fakely.
"Not at all, Aditya. I am just looking at the time repeatedly because I don’t want to take up too much of your time. I know your time is precious, and I would never want to waste it on things as measly as shopping," Madeline said, and Aditya nodded.
"I think you should try this dress," Aditya handed her a blue dress with frills on the left shoulder.
Madeline was about to take her purse when Aditya held her hand.
"You can trust me with your belongings," Aditya said, and Madeline smiled before placing her phone on the counter near Aditya and leaving.
As soon as Madeline left, her phone pinged with an incoming message. Aditya looked at the door that closed right in front of him and narrowed his eyes before looking at the phone.
Should he check what it was about?
