The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 415: What was she?

Chapter 415: What was she?

Dexter didn’t know where he was going or how fast he was going anymore. All he could feel was the cold air hitting his face, making him forget about all the things he witnessed today or suffered.

’If divorce was so easy, I would’ve divorced that b*tch of your mother long ago,’

’I don’t love your dad anymore. It was just a business marriage,’

’You are old enough to handle these things,’

’You will have to marry the girl we tell you to,’

’It would have been good if you weren’t born, things would’ve been easier. I can’t marry the man I love, all because of you,’

’Stop acting like a fool and do something,’

’Do you think anyone cares about you other than us? The reason your social circle is so small is because you are nothing but a useless prick,’

Dexter scoffed in self-mockery, his hands clenching around Elliana’s, reminding him that she was with him.

’Fuck, please tell me I didn’t screw up,’ He opened his eyes to see how she was managing so far, and if he was straining her hand.

"Elliana are you- " He stopped speaking when he saw she wasn’t really moving her legs as fast as she was supposed to but was appearing like she was floating in the air along with him.

Too shocked to react in time, he misplaced his foot on the wrong rock, his balance distorting, making him fall.

"Damn it," He cursed out loud as he fell backward, closing his eyes, expecting a hit on the ground soon since he was too late to react and his wounds made it hard for him to react in time.

However, to his surprise, Elliana held his hand midway, preventing him from falling.

Dexter opened his eyes when his body jerked and noticed how Elliana was holding a branch to keep him steady.

"Elliana -" Dexter sighed, regretfully.

It was his idea to go up the hill. And when he was supposed to protect her, how the hell did it turn the other way around? He bit his lips.

"Leave my hand, I will jump on the mountain and save both of us," Dexter said, and Elliana grinned at him.

"Who needs to be saved?" Elliana asked.

Dexter sighed.

"I know you are capable of saving yourself and -"

"When can we both fall?" Elliana added, making him widen his eyes.

"What do you mean?" Dexter asked.

"Climbing the mountain from this side will be painful for both of us. You are quite wounded, and it will take a toll on your body too. Falling is our only option at the moment. I can trust you to not let me go, yeah?" Elliana asked, a small smile playing on her lips.

Dexter’s heart melted.

He couldn’t believe that the girl in front of him was openly risking her life just so that he wouldn’t end up opening his wound when climbing with her.

Dexter nodded.

"You can trust me," Dexter whispered.

"Then you can trust me too," Elliana said.

Dexter narrowed his eyes.

"What do you mean?" He asked, but rather than answering him, Elliana let go of the branch, making Dexter immediately pull her close and wrap his hands around her protectively.

The first hit came, and Dexter’s back hit the harsh surface. He had expected to have a Bone crack or two because of the height they were falling from, but to his surprise, it was almost as if his body hit a mattress.

Not even a muscle of his body was strained.

Dexter and Elliana rolled on the steep slant mountain, Elliana extending her hand enough to place her hand on the mountain’s surface, just like how she had done when she had fallen like this with Mr. Marino while she was trying to kiss him.

Elliana’s fingers reddened because of the way they were getting roughed on the surface even when she was using her magic powers as they hit the ground after several rolls.

Dexter tightened his hold on Elliana’s body, placing his hand around her head and hiding her face in his chest to ensure she didn’t get too hurt.

"Elliana, you are okay, right?" Dexter asked cautiously, and Elliana hummed.

She firmed her hand even more when the dust particles went in her eyes.

"Damn it, this is bad," Dexter whispered, and Elliana was about to raise her head when he pushed her head back into his embrace.

"You don’t need to look. Just know that we are going to get a terrible hit before we land in the lake," Dexter said before taking a deep breath.

"Don’t worry, I will take the blow," Dexter whispered.

Elliana sighed.

She didn’t want to use her powers like this, but it looked like the situation didn’t leave her with much choice.

Elliana closed her fists and pushed Dexter enough to see what was happening.

She looked down, and as soon as she noticed the large rock that Dexter was talking about, she opened her fists towards the rock, a laser kind of beam coming out of her hands that shattered the rock into hundreds of tiny rocks, making Dexter gasp.

Dexter had only recovered from the initial shock of what he saw when Elliana extended her hand once again, forming an ice slab so long that they slid onto it and landed on the other side of the lake without getting wet or hurt in the process.

Elliana dusted her dress and stood straight, looking at Dexter, who was too shocked to react.

After what felt like an eternity, he finally looked up at her and gulped.

"Who the hell are you?" He asked.

"Are you ready to hear the truth, Dexter?" Elliana asked with a soft smile.

At the same time, Sebastian, who walked out of the car to calm his head and think about things in peace, took a deep breath, his brows scrunching when he picked the scent in the air.

"Ambrose,"

"Yes, sir," The subordinate said, making Sebastian sigh.

"I miss your princess so much that I can smell her in the air even when I am so many kilometers away from her. It’s like she is somewhere near me even when I know she is sleeping in the palace," Sebastian said, taking a deep breath again.

"Sir, I think I miss the Princess too," Ambrose said out of the blue, Sebastian’s smile turning into a scowl immediately.

"What did you say?" He asked, and Ambrose looked at his boss with an awkward smile.

"It’s not you alone, sir. I can smell her here too. As absurd as it sounds, I think our princess is here," Ambrose said and Sebastian’s gaze immediately darkened when he looked towards the hill.

Could it be really true? He wondered, rushing towards the lake since he knew his princess loved to be around water bodies.
