The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 416: I am with you
Chapter 416: I am with you
"Come with me, Dexter," Elliana grabbed his hand before she closed her eyes.
"Where are we going?" Dexter asked, clearly amazed at what he was seeing today.
Elliana didn’t answer him and just teleported them from the mountain to the mountain top 10 kilometers away on the racing track when she felt her husband’s presence due to his energies being so prominent.
"What the hell?" Dexter looked around, shocked for the fourth time in the same night and hour.
He looked at the girl, who was smiling at him softly, making him narrow his brows.
"This cute expression of yours is not going to work, Elliana. Tell me, what is happening. Is this what I think it is? Are you seriously a witch?" He asked.
Elliana hummed before turning around.
"Would you still want to stay with me?" She paused before clearing her throat.
"The reason I always had so many secrets up my sleeve was because of this only. Since I am telling you the truth about my existence, let me start the story from the beginning," Elliana turned and sat on the large rock.
She told him everything, starting from how she was the illegitimate daughter of one of the kings in the human kingdom, and how her family used to beat her up and she was sent to the malevolent prison for someone else’s crime where she stayed for one year when she was unavailable.
There she met a lady named G, and the lady helped her when she felt some weird energies inside her. The lady told her that it was her chakra control, but after coming out she realized that she was actually a witch, and she has been training ever since.
Elliana didn’t tell him that she was married to Sebastian because she was now sure more than ever that they would end up getting a divorce even if they didn’t want that.
"So you lived your entire life like a human, and these powers were dumped on you suddenly?" Dexter asked.
Elliana smiled bitterly.
She never tried to think that way, but wasn’t this exactly what happened to her?
Apart from Nathaniel, no one ever cared to come meet her and teach her things, and now suddenly everyone was trying to form a connection with her.
"Something like that," She answered.
Dexter didn’t speak for a few seconds. He fisted his hand, ruffling his hair, and turned around as if still in disbelief.
"This doesn’t make any sense. You don’t even smell like a witch," Dexter said, and Elliana was about to speak when he started again.
"But I can’t nullify what I saw either. Those things, ice slabs, the way you could manage with me just fine, floating in the air and -" Dexter snarled, making Elliana sigh.
He looked at her, her sad expression catching him off-guard.
"How have you been managing it, my poor girl?" He hugged her so that her face was on his chest as he ruffled her hair.
"Are you not angry with me?" Elliana asked, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Why would I be angry with you for something that wasn’t in your hands? Stupid girl, I am just amazed how well you managed it so far," Dexter bent and kissed her hair.
A few rogue tears rolled down Elliana’s cheeks.
She wouldn’t lie. For the first time, she felt like some great burden was lifted from her heart, not to mention how his reaction gave her a little hope, a hope that maybe Mr. Marino would accept her too.
This reminded her - What was Mr. Marino doing there? She scrunched her brows.
Meanwhile, Sebastian reached the lake and noticed no one present around, his brows furrowing even more.
He turned around and his pupils dilated when he saw some kind of large ice slab disappearing slowly.
Since Elliana’s spells and powers weren’t so refined, until she didn’t remove those things herself, they could only disappear slowly like it was happening in front of Sebastian.
"Sir, what is this?" Ambrose asked.
Sebastian didn’t answer him, his anger shooting even more.
So these witches are not playing with him by just killing his people, they are resorting to faking his princess’s scent too? His hands clenched at the thought of some other witch pretending to be his wife.
"Whoever made this mistake, I will ensure they regret it for the rest of their eternity. No one, and I mean no one gets away with pretending to be my wife. How dare their dirty bodies try to form my innocent wife?" Sebastian seethed, and Ambrose finally understood what his prince was talking about.
"Sir, if these witches are going as far as this, I don’t think they have any good intentions. What if they try to come for our princess?" Ambrose asked, and Sebastian hummed.
"I thought staying away from her when I was so angry was the right decision, but I guess, it would be better if I stayed beside her," Sebastian said, and Ambrose nodded.
"Let’s go back," Sebastian said.
On the hill, Elliana, who was informed by Nathaniel what was going on on the other hill, looked at Dexter with a soft smile.
"So... Uh... Does your guardian know about it?" Dexter asked, obviously referring to the fact that she was a witch.
Elliana looked away before shaking her head.
"He doesn’t," she said, and Dexter looked at her with pity.
"How are you going to tell him? I am your friend. Your friendship means more than this species difference to me, but what about your guardian? Will he accept you? Like this?" Dexter asked.
A scoff left Elliana’s mouth when she remembered what he said earlier. What Mr. Marino promised her about killing those dark witches, and how he hates them with a passion.
"He hates witches so much that he would rather kill them with his bare hands," Elliana whispered, and Dexter felt bad for the girl.
After what she told him, it was obvious that she was trying to find a new home in her new guardian’s place because she could never get any love and care in her original family which probably wasn’t even hers.
"What are you going to do then? It’s not something you can hide forever. Not when you mentioned your powers are only increasing and you have no idea how long they will keep increasing," Dexter said.
He looked at her inquisitively with a soft expression lingering on his face. He could see that she was struggling, and the thought that she had to go through all of this alone made it even worse.
He waited for her answer patiently, and he had guessed all kinds of answers she might give him, answers like how she would not reveal her identity, ask some witches to help her or do something else to reduce her aura. However, what she said next was something that Dexter hadn’t imagined about even in his wildest dreams.
"I will have to divorce him, Dexter," Elliana said, looking at her foot, shocking Dexter with her choice of words.
Thump!
It almost felt like someone clenched his heart painfully and left him without blood to die.
He couldn’t believe what she said for a few seconds. After what felt like an eternity, he finally gained his senses and quickly masked his expression and feelings to not worry the girl more than she already was.
"What did you say?" Dexter asked, and Elliana looked at him.
"How do you think I came to the vampire kingdom? Do you think a vampire would adopt me out of the blue? I was married to one. You can consider it as my parents paying off their duty to the kingdom by marrying me," Elliana whispered, looking at her foot again.
"You mean they married you forcefully?" He asked, and Elliana smiled at him in self-mockery.
"Out of all the things they did to me, I think this is considered nothing,"
Dexter’s eyes softened immediately and he cupped her cheeks.
"Is that why you kept saying no to everyone who tried to befriend you apart from us? You never had a boyfriend or a crush, but a husband? And... And about your crush on the youngest vampire Prince -" Dexter let his sentence trail off, making Elliana smile.
"I guess we all are attracted to things and people that are bad for us, no? Blame me for reading so many dark romance books that I fell for him even when I knew my purpose of marriage," Elliana said, hinting at something that Dexter couldn’t decipher.
"So... you are really a witch," Dexter took a deep breath to divert her attention.
Elliana smiled gratefully before nodding.
"So, what are you waiting for? Let’s have a party. I am the first one to know about this, right? Ahh, why do I feel so special? Damn, what else can you do seriously?" Dexter looked at her like an excited kid, and she chuckled before wiping her tears.
"Would you like to eat some pizza?" She asked, knowing all too well he loved it.
"Why not," he winked at her before wiping her cheeks.
"Stupid girl, I promised you I would be there no matter what. I will be there even if you turn into a corpse. I will keep your dead body under my basement just to accompany you and -"
"Eww, Dexter!" Elliana slapped his chest playfully, and he chuckled before holding her hand and pulling her in for a hug.
"You went through a lot alone. Don’t worry, you are not alone anymore. I am with you," Dexter smiled, making her nod gratefully.
