Chapter 401: The hidden bubble

"Well, I hope I am not intruding. I just need to borrow her for some time," the man said, and before Lucas could react, he was already reaching out for the back door to pull Elliana out.

Elliana, on the other hand, who barely saved herself from hitting her head on the window because of the impact of the sudden jerk, looked at the man confused.

She didn’t want to say his name and tell Lucas she knew him, but her gaze said it all.

"Prince Nathaniel, you can’t take away our princess just like that. You will have to ask Prince for that," Lucas said, but Nathaniel’s gaze was focused on Elliana.

He was feeling rebellious today and didn’t give two damn about anything anymore.

"And what If I don’t? Elliana knows me well, and we have interacted before too. It will be just a little chat," Nathaniel said, his gaze focussed on Elliana, who was looking at the emotions in his eyes and immediately knew it was important, or he would never risk things for her like this.

"Besides, I am sure you do realize I could’ve just made her disappear with me rather than asking for permission, right? Allow me to have a chat with her while I am asking nicely. I won’t take her anywhere if that’s what irks you. We will talk here," Nathaniel said.

Lucas looked at his princess, who was looking at the vampire prince with a soft expression, and sighed.

"Okay. I will allow it for ten minutes, but I hope you remember if anything happens to her, our prince keeps the power to destroy the entire Witch Kingdom with his beast," Lucas said, and Nathaniel hummed.

He held Elliana’s hand and pulled her to the side of the road under a large Angel Oak tree.

He didn’t waste a single second in creating a transparent shield around them so that no sound would leave the shield and let Lucas hear what they were going to talk about.

Nathaniel sighed and extended his palm ahead that was raging with fire, motioning Elliana to place her hand there with his eyes.

Elliana didn’t question him for a second before putting her hand in his.

"You trust me a lot, don’t you?" Nathaniel asked when Elliana smiled at him, and she hummed.

"If I start questioning you, Nath, I might as well start questioning my existence too," Elliana said, and he sighed, her words winning over his heart.

"If you trust me so much, will you trust me and jump inside an active volcano if I ask you to do it? Will you fight my monsters for me?" Nathaniel raised his brows, and Elliana smiled at him.

"When do I have to do that?" She asked with a soft smile on her face, placing her other hand over him as if she was comforting him for whatever he went through today.

It was like an invisible connection between them that she had no idea about, but he knew very well all about. And it was amazing how loyal she was to this connection.

Nathaniel looked into her eyes for a few seconds before nodding.

He suppressed the urge to hug her.

When he heard the truth from the demon lord, he was so over the facts and losing his mind that he couldn’t think of anything but her.

There was just something about her aura that always calmed him, and it might be because her powers were a mixture of his father’s powers too, or because even when she was a dark witch, her heart was of gold, surpassing everyone he had ever met that he always feels attracted to her whenever he gets into trouble.

He didn’t want to put her into any kind of situation, and he knew what kind of risk he took today, but he just couldn’t control himself.

Nathaniel looked at their fire hands and noticed how his fire that had started to engulf Elliana’s hand was turning a bit blackish.

His gaze flickered a bit when he recognized the type of fire it was.

It was - The hellfire of never-ending pain that doesn’t extinguish until the person creating it takes it back.

Nathaniel raised his gaze and looked into her eyes.

"I am here to ask you just one thing. I can’t give you the exact details but I am going to start a war. And when that happens, I want to know if you will help me," Nathaniel asked.

Elliana removed her hand from his hold and Nathaniel thought she was going to deny it, but what she said next made him chuckle.

"As long as Mr. Marino isn’t on the other side, I will fight all the volcano monsters for you," Elliana said before she beamed at him and raised her hand toward the sky.

Nathaniel followed her gaze and looked into the sky and his gaze darkened when he noticed the weird fire clasping a cloud into its hold, and the sound of the cloud bursting echoed in the environment.

"Elliana! What the hell!" Nathaniel looked at the girl who smiled at him before grinning ear to ear.

She clicked her fingers and the fire was nowhere to be seen, not even the residues of it, making Nathaniel wonder if what he saw just now was his image or what.

Even the cloud was back to normal as if it had never touched.

To say Nathaniel was shocked would be an understatement. He couldn’t believe Elliana was able to burn a cloud like that now. And he didn’t know who the hell was teaching her all this since this wasn’t a technique that you could learn in a couple of months.

Though Elliana was quite powerful, there was no way she learned it overnight. He has been going through all her curriculum, and none of the classes mentioned - Nathaniel paused when he remembered an even more important thing than that.

"Where have you been practicing all this?" Nathaniel asked, and Elliana smiled, one of those mischievous naughty smiles that a kid shows after committing a naughty act.

"In the bubble," Elliana smiled, proud of her little stunt.

She was looking at Nathaniel like she made something new and was now exhibiting to him for some praise, but Nathaniel who understood the meaning behind her fire couldn’t find it in himself to praise her.

"A bubble?" Nathaniel asked, confused about this weird term.

"Yes. Whenever I have to practice a spell, I create a bubble around me, and then the area I touch or point at gets included in the bubble too. Just like now. What you saw or felt, Mr. Pablo didn’t see or feel," Elliana smiled, and Nathaniel gulped.

Bubble? Did she mean this protective spell shield? But how was she sending her shield to the sky already?

"When was the first time you discovered this shield, I mean, this bubble power of yours?" Nathaniel asked.

It was Elliana’s chance to narrow her eyes at him now.

"Hey, how can you forget such minuscule things? Didn’t I tell you? I put this spell to use, or should I say, my powers put this to use when I burnt Prince Harrison, remember him? You had come that day to meet me too, well, to protect me," Elliana reminded him, and Nathaniel shook his head.

He was here to ask for her assistance if he ever stood against the witches so he could have a powerful person with him, but he didn’t know he would end up getting scared of ever-increasing powers.

There would be a high possibility that all the witches might come to take down Elliana’l at this rate.

"Where are you learning all these spells from? I am sure I didn’t teach you this," Nathaniel enquired more.

"I found an ancient book, and it has these spells. I practice them inside the bubble so no one suspects anything. Do you think I am getting better? Are you proud of me?" Elliana asked excitedly, and Nathaniel, who had been worrying over a completely different topic earlier, smiled at her.

This was probably one of her powers, to distract others from their miseries. Why? Because she gives them new things to worry about!! Nathaniel massaged his forehead.

He didn’t need anyone to tell him who was sneaky enough to put the book there where she could easily find it.

"I am proud of you. But please hold back from using too much power. It’s not good for you. Anyway, I just wanted to ask if I can count on you, and since you said yes, my work here is done," Nathaniel said.

"And what if I had said no?" Elliana asked with an innocent inquisitive look.

"Then I would have still protected you with my life till my last breath," Nathaniel said, making her heart skip a beat, This was probably one of her powers, to distract others from their miseries.

and was about to turn around and leave when he remembered something.

He half turned his body towards her.

"Also, you don’t need to go to the human’s kingdom or take their bullshit anymore. Your mother was a witch, and your father was a witch too. James is not your father. You are not an illegitimate daughter and your parents are alive. There are just some complications. I will solve them soon," Nathaniel said one after the other before disappearing, leaving Elliana frozen in her place.

What did he say? How can he say something like that and then leave so suddenly without any explanation? Elliana looked around, feeling lost.
