Chapter 323: Run Run Run
nøvel.com"Sir, I think someone is following us," Lucas said, his voice wary and full of contempt. His eyes started to turn a shade of red, and Sebastian hummed vaguely.
"I know," he murmured.
"Don’t look back or act like you can feel them coming. Act normal, like you have come out to shop," Sebastian added.
He walked to one of the stalls and tried to look behind him through the mirror.
Five. He could see five men, looking behind different stalls trying to peek at him, and Sebastian suppressed the urge to smirk in their direction and let them know that the devil had set his eyes on them. That they were under his radar now.
Lucas paused and looked at his boss before looking down.
’Run, Run, Run,’ This was the only thing he could tell those men who were trying to stalk his prince.
Do these people never learn? His stories have been spread all over the world for a particular reason, and that reason was to save these vampires from his wrath.
No one and he literally meant no one, survives after stalling a devil, stalking him, and inviting him to their den themselves.
A devil remains a devil, and he loves to hunt whether he is around his hell or in another world.
"Sir, should we call the Princess and ask her how she has been doing? She was quite wounded," Lucas deliberately mentioned Elliana to snap his prince out of whatever maniacal evil daze he was falling into.
"No need. I will see and talk to her only when we will be back there. And when I see her, I will let her know who she belongs to, and she can’t fucking act like that on her own," Sebastian looked down at the dagger in his hand, the dagger reminding him of how skillfully his princess can work a sword, and how truly enchanting she looks while at it.
"How dare she not miss me when I am losing my mind without her? How dare a mere human make me succumb to my knees for her? It almost feels like she is standing over me and laughing in my face, and at normal times I would let her place her foot on my chest, but not when she has already established that reign over me and now she is making me work hard for it," Sebastian rubbed his index finger at the tip of the dagger.
Though his words were out of Lucas’s understanding, he was happy that it brought his prince out of his devil mode that was itching to come out any second.
But, he didn’t know how wrong he was.
"And Lucas, next time you think mentioning her would distract me, use a better method. At least mention a memory that will take me back in time," Sebastian looked at the shopkeeper and bought the eye-catching set of eight daggers.
After paying for the daggers, they started moving again.
"I am sorry, sir. It wasn’t in my intention to merely distract you. I just wanted -"
"-to ensure that I don’t end up killing some vampires in the foreign lands, something that might become a problem for both of us?" Sebastian completed his sentence, and Lucas looked down, ashamed.
"I apologize," Lucas said.
Sebastian didn’t say anything for a few minutes and just kept walking.
He looked at another shop where he would be able to see the men stalking them and this time he counted the heads, there were around nine of them.
Sebastian chuckled coldly, scaring the shopkeeper.
"How much is this sword?" He asked, and the shopkeeper, who felt his dangerous aura looked at Lucas, who shook his head at him in an indication to not say anything useless, and the man in question gulped.
"Would you like to see more swords first? There are even stronger ones with the sharpest blades. Here, this one is the sharpest, and it comes with a strong blade that takes a swordsmith around 2 weeks to sharpen the blade," the shopkeeper said, and Sebastian turned to Lucas.
"Do you think your princess would like this gift?" He asked.
Lucas - "..." You would definitely be the first person who would think of bringing a sword for his petite innocent wife as a gift from a business trip.
"She will love it," Lucas smiled at his prince, forcefully.
"I know, right? The question is, will she love it just like that, or should I soak it in blood first?" Sebastian asked and the swords nearly slipped from the shopkeeper’s hand.
Sebastian bought two such swords after checking their authenticity as he kept moving forward.
"Sir, should we hail a cab to return?" Lucas asked, not liking the feeling of being watched all the time, and as much as he trusted his Prince who would never let anything happen to him, he was now getting more afraid of his prince, just for the same reason.
He wouldn’t let anything happen to him. And for that, his Prince will kill, and when he was randomly buying these things, acting so casually like it was just for his collection in the office, it was irking Lucas even more.
"Why are you in such a hurry, Lucas? Who are you afraid of? You are making me feel bad now. Am I not a good prince and boss to you?" Sebastian asked.
Lucas’s hand trembled which he quickly grabbed with his other hand to stop his shivering and not let his prince see the small blunder.
This way of speaking... Lucas’s body shivered at the thought of what would happen here.
His prince wasn’t the only person counting all the people who were following them, he was too. And so far he has counted more than 16 people already.
It would be a blood bath, and the last blood bath was still fresh in his mind, not to mention what happened last night.
They both were toxic.
If what his prince was saying was true, this innocent princess of theirs wasn’t a person anyone should be thinking of messing with easily.
King Abramo was probably wrong in more ways than he ever would be able to find out about. Princess Elliana might calm their prince and the beast inside him, but what about the demons that she has brought with her? Who would calm them?
Toxic couple. Lucas scoffed inside his mind, his pupils dilating when he noticed Prince Sebastian wasn’t by his side anymore. He looked around, his heartbeat picking its pace.
"Hey, did you see the man who just bought the swords from here?" Lucas walked to the shops behind him.
The shopkeeper didn’t say anything. There was a hint of fear in his eyes.
Lucas followed his line of sight.
Before he could understand what was going on, he felt a sharp blade being pressed against his neck, and he gulped.
He made a mistake. He let down his guard even when he knew they were being followed, and the consequences were right on his neck.
