Chapter 255: Let me introduce myself

"I have to discuss something related to vampire politics with my brothers and grandfather. Will you be fine on your own?" Sebastian cupped her jaws once they ate their dinner, and everyone got busy with their own work.

Elliana looked around, feeling a bit uncomfortable, before she nodded.

All of her supporters in this family were going to be busy with some work or another. Grandma and Mom Freya had already gone to her room to sleep, and all the brothers were going to the meeting. Miss Zoya left earlier for the palace since Sebastian and Elliana were spending a night in the royal palace.

"Should I go back to our designated room too?" Elliana asked, and Sebastian looked at her thoughtfully before nodding.

"If you want to, you can. Should I drop you?" He asked, and she shook her head.

"I’ll find my way. Please don’t delay and -" she blushed scarlet.

"Return soon," She said, her gaze darting to her feet, and Sebastian smiled inside his mask before nodding.

"I will," he left as soon as he said that, and Elliana heaved a drawn-out sigh.

Well, that leaves me and my heart alone. Elliana started walking to the stairs. Their designated room was in the west wing of the second floor, and as exaggertaing as it sounded, this place was huge.

This place alone was capable of filling 5% of the population of this city.

There were around three floors in the so-called palace, which was nothing less than a mini hotel, just a bit more flamboyant and royal.

Elliana started walking towards her room, the corridors seeming long and never-ending.

The corridors were lit dimly since it was way past their sleeping time and was almost near 11 PM, and she sighed as her mind went to what that witch in black cloak said to her.

That lady, Azura, was a dark witch, and they are known for their rogue behavior. Why was a dark witch coming to meet her? And just how many witches were going to make their presence known to her?

At this point, Elliana was contemplating if there was more to her life than these measly powers that didn’t look measly anymore. Even these powers feel out of the world.

Earlier, she used to at least feel something running in her veins and the energy, but all those sensations were gone now. Everything was calm inside her, as if these powers, chakra, or whatever it was, has merged into her blood. There were so many questions encircling her head.

And why did she fall unconscious earlier? What was that strange song or voice she heard? The chef had made her drink the juice, and she was definitely not exhausted or anything. It was almost as if her mind short-circuited and -

Elliana paused in her steps when she heard some commotion to her left.

It wasn’t a room, but rather a corridor which was leading to the staircase leading upstairs. It was strange how all the staircases were in the east wings, but this staircase was the only one she saw in this direction.

"Hello? Is someone there?" Elliana asked when she heard the voice again before feeling utterly stupid.

How many horror movies has she watched to know never to ask this dumb question to any voice? Every time the heroine asks this dumb question, she gets into trouble. Elliana shook her head and increased her pace, practically running towards her room.

As soon as she reached her room, she opened the door, and was about to close it when something banged the door so loudly that she was sent flying back, making her fall on the carpet as she looked at the person with wide eyes.

Her heartbeat picked its pace, and she looked around and backed away, trying to grab something to stand as her foot got caught in the train of her dress.

"I... who- " Elliana stuttered as she looked at red blazing eyes that meant nothing good.

She had seen this face somewhere, and she was sure this was someone from the royal family, but who -

"Princess Elliana, it was such an unpleasant circumstance that you fainted earlier, and we couldn’t meet. I didn’t feel right about it. That’s why I have personally come here to greet you," The man in front of her said, a weird creepy smile lurking on his lips.

Cold sweat beads appeared on Elliana’s forehead, every cell in her body telling her to get away from this prince, whoever it was. That she shouldn’t care whether this was royalty or what, but juts make a run if she wanted to save her life, and the feeling was so strong that it started to clog her throat.

She wanted to ask who he was, but his stance didn’t look like he was someone who would take that kind of disrespect so easily that she didn’t even remember his name or position.

"You can’t enter my room just like that when my husband is not here," Elliana said, taking the support of the corner of the bed to stand, and the prince smirked before he laughed, a cold laugh that made a shiver run down her spine.

"So sweet of you to remember that," the prince said, unafraid of her threats and stern voice.

"Maybe it’s not right. I completely agree with you, Princess. But why are you so afraid of me? I am not here to hurt you. I promise. Your scent and presence aren’t making me lose my mind, and I am definitely not here to take a bite of you," The man said, and the more he said with that evil smile on his face, the more scared Elliana felt.

She looked towards the door that was right behind that man and gulped.

If only she could make a run for it or scream to -

"Uhuh, don’t even think about it, Princess. You see, I get angry very easily, and unlike other family members who are just scared of your husband, I actually hate him a lot. So it will just take me a snap of fingers to snap that head of yours, and I assure you we will just bring the original bride that was supposed to be here and mask it as punishment for the game your father played. So just don’t think about it, okay?" The man grinned like it was the best thing he could say to coax her into not doing anything stupid. And it worked.

Elliana’s hands trembled, and she quickly fisted. No. She can’t show him that she is afraid of him. That will only make him feel more empowered. She nodded at herself.

"Sebastian, that bastard got a hell of a lot lucky when he got handed a beautiful princess like you. He doesn’t know how to care for a gem. Luckily, he has a brother like me, who knows how to take care of things," He smiled sweetly, his extra sweet smile looking even more sickening than earlier, and Elliana stepped back subconsciously.

"Ha, I am such a poorly mannered person. I should’ve introduced myself first," the man stepped ahead, and Elliana’s hands quivered as she clenched them tighter, ensuring that she didn’t accidentally release the powers she shouldn’t.

"Please leave this room. We can do the introductions in the morning," Elliana said, but the man only laughed and appeared right in front of her in a split second.

Elliana looked at the man in horror as his fangs elongated, making her step back even more, and she stumbled on the carpet, falling back on the ground with wide eyes.

"You... Mr. Marino won’t spare you if something happens to me," Elliana said, and the man only chuckled darkly.

"If only he could really do something to the royal family. Do you really think he is the type of person who would sit around and take all this humiliation? I assure you, if I snapped your neck right now and drank every drop of your blood, he would only throw a tantrum and nothing. Just like how he could never find out what exactly happened that day when his mother died," the man in front of her said, and Elliana’s pupils dilated even more, if possible.

What did this man say? The day Mr. Marino’s mother died? What was he talking about? Elliana swallowed her saliva, ready to ask him what he meant, when he grabbed her throat, making her gasp.
