Chapter 251: She doesn’t have some witch powers: the unlock of the first spell.

It was cold. It was dark. Like someone has taken something from inside of her. Someone had killed something or trapped something inside her, and all her warmth was gone.

That’s exactly what Elliana was feeling right now. The energies that she once was scared of, the glow, the chakra control that she once had problems controlling, everything was lost. They were gone or trapped, she didn’t know what happened to them, and a rogue tear slipped from the corner of her eyes.

"You are awake, princess," Sebastian’s words reached her ears, and she raised her tearful eyes to him. All the confidence that her powers used to make her feel, everything was lost, and she gulped before nodding vaguely and looking the other way.

Elliana felt like she wasn’t in her own body, like this was someone else’s body, and she clenched her hands on the duvet.

She wanted to scream and shout, but scream for what? And who will listen to her? Rather, who will believe her? And what did she lose? Elliana closed her eyes to control her emotions as more tears fell from her eyes.

"Princess," Sebastian walked to the bed and sat on the edge, sliding his hand under her cheeks as he turned her face to force her to look into his eyes.

Even he could feel something was wrong with her. The once strong aura she used to ooze was now completely gone. It was as if she was some kind of deity who had become a mere human.

It confused him. How can a human’s aura change like this, and judging from her eyes, it looks like she was well aware of it? What exactly was different about her that she was hiding from everyone?

"I... Can you leave me alone for some time, Mr. Marino?" Elliana asked, her eyes pleading.

She wanted him to hold her in his arms, but more than that she needed answers to her questions, her questions that only a witch like Yaretzi or Nath can answer.

She clenched her hands around the duvet when he kept looking into her eyes.

"Sure. But before that, I want you to answer my question," Sebastian said, and Elliana nodded.

He was about to ask the question when the door of the room burst open. Freya walked inside, and Elliana gulped.

"Is she awake? Geez, what happened to you, sweetheart? Do you have any idea how scared we were?" Freya rushed to the bed to check up on the human, and Stephano, who was standing at the doors, looked at her with piercing eyes.

"And they blamed it all on me," Stephano murmured, and a chuckle left Elliana’s mouth as she looked at her pouting face.

She wiped her tears with a smile on her face.

Sebastian looked at his elder brother who managed to make her smile in just one sentence, and for some reason, he didn’t feel bad about it.

If she had been smiling and laughing at someone else’s jokes, he would’ve surely asked them to walk out, but he couldn’t ask him.

"I am sorry for making you guys worried," Elliana plastered that fake smile on her face that she had mastered long ago in the human kingdom.

"You made us worried for sure, but you don’t need to say sorry for that. The doctor said you were exhausted. Were you so nervous to meet us?" Freya chuckled, and Elliana smiled awkwardly, scrunching her brows as she looked at Sebastian, his eyes telling her that it was him who ordered the doctor to say that.

"Mom, if you don’t mind, I want to rest for some more time. If that’s okay and I am not ruining -"

"It’s fine. You should rest. The party will be over in one hour. We will call you when it’s family dinner time, okay?" Freya said, and she was about to kiss Elliana’s forehead when Sebastian placed his hand on his second mom’s shoulders, and she chuckled.

"Stupid boy. I am not just anyone else but your second mom. I won’t gobble her up," Freya smiled before she left the room with Stephano looking at Elliana one last time and leaving.

Sebastian was about to ask the question he wanted, but before he could, his phone rang, and he looked at the caller ID with thinned lips. It was the person calling from the dungeons where Maze was held captive.

He sighed and looked at Elliana before walking out of the room and closing the door behind him.

Finally, Elliana was left alone, and she sighed.

She looked at her hands that once used to glow with blue and golden glow simultaneously near water and earth or when she was angry, and that were looking plain now.

She sighed as another tear fell from the corner of her eyes. She wiped her tears before she turned to her right side, facing the balcony. As she extended her hand, drawing a circle in the air, she widened her eyes when the curtains of the room started to move with her fingers.

She... She was controlling them? Elliana looked at the middle of her palm again and there it was. The needle-like golden glow that itched her skin.

Earlier, she only used to affect nature and cause destruction with her powers because she didn’t have any control over them.

She still doesn’t have any control over them, but they felt like they upgraded and she wasn’t even feeling hot anymore. It was as if someone suppressed those powers and Elliana’s heart picked its pace. She didn’t know whether to be ecstatic or horrified.

She raised her hand in the air, wanting to see if she could change the pattern of this false ceiling without it breaking or not, but before she could do that, she heard some noises around her.

She narrowed her eyes when she saw someone sitting in the corner of the room, and she recognized that person as that witch who had helped her get back inside the vampire Kingdom last night and even saved her from being caught.

"You... What are you doing here? How can you -"

"No one can stop me from meeting you," the witch with the black cloak said, and Elliana raised her brows when she felt the same connection with this witch as she felt last night.

"Who are you?" She asked, and the witch smiled.

"You will know who I am at the right time. For now, my name should be enough. Azura, I am like the leader of the dark world witches. The rogue witches," the witch sat at the edge of the bed.

Normally, if it had been anyone else, Elliana would’ve felt scared. Nath once mentioned that the dark world witches were really scary and didn’t follow any rules, which makes them the most dangerous regardless of their power because they don’t care about anything or anyone.

She had felt scared at that moment when Nath was describing them, but now that she was meeting a dark witch for real, she didn’t feel anything.

Rather, she raised her hand to touch the witch’s face that felt so familiar as if she had known this lady her entire life, and Azura smiled.

’It runs in the genes. Can’t stay away from dangerous things, can we?’ She thought before holding Elliana’s hand, catching her off guard.

Azura closed her eyes and opened them with a jerk when she felt the death magic performed on the little girl. She huffed loudly. She should’ve known that bitch was up to no good when she found that there was a human who was carrying some witch powers.

Stupid bitch.

What she doesn’t know is that this isn’t a human who carries witch powers, Elliana was the purest form of the witch herself. She was so pure and dark at the same time that her powers were a threat to the entire witch community.

That’s the reason ten top witches of the largest clans had come together to lock those powers and suppress them until she was rendered to nothing but a mere human.

Those clans’ witches didn’t know that they were locking the powers of a witch and not some tragedy in a box.

They had hidden Elliana in four layers of security spells just to hide her from everyone performing that spell.

It should’ve worked, if...

Azura closed her eyes. It was no use thinking about those matters now.

This rival witch of hers doesn’t know that by singing the death song to Elliana, she only made her powers more powerful and broke the first lock of the witch spell around her, making her control on the powers internally rise. That’s why these powers weren’t an external thing anymore for the girl. They were her.

Azura sighed.

"Do you feel wrong anywhere?" Azura asked as she checked the girl’s pulse.

"Why are you acting like you know me?" Elliana rather asked.

"Because I do," Azura touched her neck before touching her forehead. She placed her hand on Elliana’s chest to feel her heartbeat so that she could see if that death song didn’t internally hurt her heart.

However, as soon as she did that, Elliana swatted her hand away.

"Hey! Where are you touching without permission? I am not into that stuff," She said, and Azura looked at her for a few seconds before chuckling, smiling like this after such a long time.

Only she can joke at a time like this. Azura sighed and shook her head.

"Seeing how you can joke around, I guess I was uselessly worried," She smiled.

"What do you -" Elliana paused when she felt some commotion on the balcony, and her eyes widened when she saw who it was.

"What are you-?" She whispered yelled at the person before her eyes widened even more when she remembered the witch in her room. However, as soon as she turned, the witch was nowhere to be found.

"How could I not come and see you?" The person asked, and her hands clenched by her side.
