Chapter 250: The death voice

Chapter 250: The death voice

"Did you miss me a lot, princess?" Sebastian asked as he lifted her in the air before circling, pulling her down slowly, his gaze not shifting away from her eyes, and she hummed shyly.

"You look very handsome tonight, Mr. Marino," she whispered as she stepped closer to him, and he smiled before he grabbed her hand and twirled her in her place, before pulling her so that her hands were on his chest.

He placed his hand on her waist before helping her lock her hands around his neck.

"Prince -"

"Uhuh," Sebastian warned her, and she gulped, looking straight into his eyes with the wide ones of her own.

"Mr. Marino," she whispered, and he smiled inwardly, her breathless voice, making him want to make her more breathless, but of course, the place wasn’t right for that kind of action.

He smirked and grabbed her jaws, easing her lips from between her teeth.

"How many times do I need to tell you that they are not for you to bite? Only I have the right to bite them now. We discussed it before, didn’t we?" Sebastian bent and placed his forehead on hers, making her close her eyes immediately as she let him lead her through the dance.

That’s how much she trusted him to always pull her up even when she was falling.

"Your blind trust in me appalls me, my princess," Sebastian said, feeling his heart tingle at the thought of her trusting him so much when all he had in mind was the thought of using and throwing her away.

Elliana opened her eyes, pulling herself closer to him and tightening her hands around his neck.

She tilted her head, not wavering her gaze from his eyes, or should she say his mask.

"How can I not? You are my husband. You handled me when my own so-called parents threw me under the bus. How can I not trust the man who kisses my pain away whenever I am wounded and caresses my bleeding heart? How can I not trust the man who has shown me what real care feels like, who is so beautiful inside and out?

I have told you before too, Mr. Marino. I don’t care who you are to the world. You can be the biggest and scariest monster to them, but to me, you are my Mr. Marino, the only person who ever treated me like a human, and not a liability they can use and throw anytime.

I also know that you have the same intentions in mind, but at least your actions speak otherwise.

Call me delusional, call me a romanticist or a masochist, but if a little bit of happiness in my entire life comes with the price of this, I am ready to pay that price," Elliana confessed without blinking her eyes.

"After all, I am the devil’s possession," she smiled, and Sebastian froze in his place when he read her eyes, her eyes that were screaming about her infatuation with him. The eyes looked so pure and innocent, void of any malice.

"Princess," Sebastian started, but Elliana shook her head and placed her head back on his chest, hugging him closer.

"Don’t say a word, Mr. Marino. I know deep down in that slow-beating heart of yours you hate my kind. You loathe me and would trade anything to have me out of your life and this kingdom, but I also know that you aren’t a bad man who will hurt me deliberately. It’s not in your hand. The Fate never was. So let’s keep that aside and live this moment?" She asked, making him hum distantly.

This confession... When he was worrying that she would probably fall for another guy, she felt this way towards him.

He sighed and wrapped his hands around her protectively, placing his chin on her head, and closing his eyes to enjoy her fast-beating heart against his skin. She was the devil’s possession and he intended to keep it like that.

Elliana was happy at this moment, unaware of the fact that seeing her so happy, her powers were happy too, and all the flowers in the garden that were wilting, immediately bloomed. The sun shone more gently, and a gentle cold breeze started caressing everyone’s skin.

The windows of the halls started opening even more as the wind reached Elliana as if wanting to tell her that they were happy when she was.

Her hair gently flew in the direction of the wind, making her take a deep breath to calm her fast-beating heart that was beating out of happiness.

Sebastian’s entire family was shocked. The outsiders were shocked, but it was nothing compared to the shock of the royal family.

They were used to his cold glares, his snarls, and growls, or threats and warnings. They were used to his retaliation and complaints about how they were treating him wrong, but this... They were not used to this.

This Sebastian... This Sebastian who was dancing so gently with his human bride, how he was caressing her and making sure her every landing was soft, that she was dancing on his feet so that she wouldn’t have to worry about following the sequence.

They were not used to this kind of Sebastian who was hugging his human bride so intimately in front of others. And since they weren’t used to him, they didn’t know how to react to it either.

Almost everyone slowed their dancing, watching the dancing couple carefully, and the girl who was smiling so happily as Sebastian picked her and twirled around, lifting her in the air, pushing her, and then pulling her towards himself.

Her expression was a clear indication of how much she was enjoying what Sebastian was doing, and how much she adored their cruel prince.

If they had any doubts about what was going on inside Sebastian’s head, they were cleared when he pulled her, staring down at her intensely.

The actions were speaking louder than the words.

They didn’t need to prove to anyone that they were a good couple or they cared about each other. This fifteen-minute dance was enough.

And their grandson who never danced a step and who wasn’t stopping today was enough.

"Mr. Marino, water," Elliana was breathing heavily when they stopped, and he pinched her nose, making her swat his hand away before she widened her eyes at the action.

Wasn’t she being a bit too free with him just because she confessed or something? She was about to apologize to him when Sebastian pulled her cheeks, making her pout.

"Cute little duck," he said, his gaze shifting to her puckered cherry lips before shifting back to her eyes.

"Don’t call me a sinner when I eat you after dinner," Sebastian whispered into her ears before touching his mask with the corner of her lips and leaving.

Elliana stood there shocked, frozen in her place. He just didn’t use that kind of innuendo at her, did he?

What... Sinner?... Eat... Dinner... The more she thought, the harder she blushed.

"Here," Elliana heard a voice, and she turned to see Vincenzo standing there with a glass of water.

She looked around and noticed everyone was busy chatting, and her palms sweated again.

"You are thirsty, aren’t you?" He asked before stepping closer to her, and she smiled forcefully before taking the glass from his hand and taking a few sips of the water.

She looked at the waiter and waved at him before placing the empty glass on the tray.

Once Vincenzo was sure she was evenly breathing now, he smirked at her and bent in front of her.

"Can I have the honor of your second dance, princess?" Vincenzo asked, and Elliana looked around, hoping for someone to butt in.

However, when no one came, she bit her lower lip and was about to place her hand in his when someone grabbed her hand and pulled her away, making her widen her eyes in surprise when she noticed who it was.

Meanwhile, outside the vampire Kingdom, on a random tree where Elliana had her meeting with the girls, the witch dressed in a black cloak, leaned back in her place with her head supported on the trunk.

"Elliana, Elliana, Elliana, my poor child, how can you fall for the same person of the species who has been your clan’s immortal enemy? When I thought I finally got a hold of you and would teach you my ways, I had no idea you were already so down the lane.

I had hopes in you, that you would take our legacy ahead, but seeing you fall for the only person that our clan cursed, I don’t think you are the right fit for it. And if you are not the right fit, what are these powers for? Shouldn’t you just die and end your miseries that are about to start?" The witch mumbled to herself as she hummed a distant song.

’Mmmmmmmmm....mmmmmmm....mmmmmmm,’ she sang, her voice like a death melody.

And Elliana, who was standing in the middle of the dance floor, facing Stephano as he was the one who held her hand, heard the melody reaching her ears.

It was distinct and something inside her twisted. She winced at the cacophony of voice.

Elliana’s vision blurred, and she looked at Sebastian who was walking back to her with narrowed brows and the glass of water. She extended her hand to call him but as soon as she opened her mouth...

*Gasp*

She gasped loudly when she felt like something hit her heart before she lost consciousness and fell into Vincenzo’s arms, who was quick to catch her when he noticed something wrong with her.

The witch smiled when she saw Elliana falling before she shook her head.

"It has started. Let’s see how long your so-called white witches can protect you now. I hope the dark witch Azura has a solution for it. Sorry, sweetheart, but your mother messed with the wrong witch. Someone had to pay for it," the witch whispered before vanishing into thin air.
