"So? What’s the update?" Lucas stood in the middle of the lounge of the building while Sebastian sat on the sofa leisurely.

"I... Sir, I swear I had that girl captive here. Simon and Jacob were the ones responsible for keeping an eye on her. We tied her with ropes too," the leader looked around with helpless eyes.

He didn’t know what happened. One moment they were waiting in the lounge and making calls to Mr. Lucas about how they found the girl, and the next moment a guard rushed inside and said he saw someone like Marcello roaming around the market.

The leader won’t lie to himself. He was greedy. He was greedy and thought he was lucky that he and his team found Marcello, the man every royal is looking for because they want to make a deal with him and keep them in their circle. He thought he would be praised for not one but two good works.

"Either you are trying to say that your security was so useless and distracted from the actual matter at hand that someone came and took that girl away from here," Sebastian said, and the spy leader was about to defend himself when Sebastian raised his gaze to him, and he immediately shut up.

"Or you are trying to say that your team has become so weak that they couldn’t fight back a girl who came and took away her team member while this B spy team of 30 men was in the same building.

And not only did she take away the girl, she hurt one of you so badly that he is still in shock," Sebastian asked.

There were two options, but both meant one thing - the team was incapable. It was so incapable that they couldn’t stop a female from entering their den and stealing what they had captured.

Was there any bigger insult than this?

The leader looked at Lucas and Ambrose for help, but like all the previous times, this time they didn’t step up to help the leader. They were equally disappointed in this leader today.

And to say this leader called and said he has the girl and called the cult leader, and wasted their time, they can’t take it.

"I... I... Sir... I-" The leader stuttered, but before he could form a straight comprehensive sentence, one of the guards walked inside the room.

"Sir, it worked. It will take some time for him to completely recover from it, but he can tell you what exactly happened," The guard said, not daring to look toward the prince, and the leader gulped and nodded before looking at Lucas.

"Sir, would you -" The leader paused when Sebastian stood from his place.

"Lead the way," he said to the guard who immediately led them towards the corridor of the fifth room on the first floor.

"Sir," the guard opened the door, and Sebastian looked at the guy, who was lying on the bed, his heightened senses immediately catching up on the oozing heat from Jacob’s body.

If it had been anyone else’s man, he would have scoffed at him for having a fever from shock, but knowing that this was his team and they were like this because of some girl, he didn’t know what to think of it.

Sebastian didn’t say anything for a few seconds and just looked at the man, the bandage on his forehead, and the warming belt on his chest.

"He broke his ribs," Lucas said, not believing it.

"If this is really the power of this girl group, then they can surely become a problem in the future if they start acting rogue. They have been quiet after that incident. Honestly, I don’t really think that they usually mean trouble to anyone or we would’ve surely heard about them before or after that incident too," Lucas said before sighing.

"Explain everything that happened from the beginning to the end," Lucas said when he saw his prince’s posture changing.

"Sir, I had walked out of the room because I was sick of that girl’s constant crying. I took a small break and drank some blood to replenish myself.

It was at that time I heard a cracking noise. I rushed inside the room and noticed that the girl we had tied had somehow gotten hold of a broken piece of vase. She was trying to kill herself when I reached there and -" Jacob explained everything from the beginning to the end.

Once he ended his story, everyone looked at the prince to react, and he finally leaned back in his seat.

"You said that the cult leader’s eyes were changing colors from amber to tints of black as if the black was trying to overpower her?" Sebastian asked, finding it a bit weird.

"Yes, sir," Jacob said.

"They didn’t turn or move to the red tint even for a second?"

"No, sir. I remember clearly. It was direct black dots that swirled in her eyes as she looked at me. Also, she said something about why she can’t use the sharp side of the knife at me," Jacob said, looking at others.

"Why?"

"She said she cares about Prince a lot and can’t see him in distress of losing a man from his team," Jacob said, and Sebastian hummed.

This girl, whoever it was, wasn’t a vampire, but if not, why was she leading a team of vampires, and why were those girls following her?

Judging from everything that this man said, the chances are she was probably a wolf or shapeshifter and used that black market de-scenting drug to hide her smell.

It brings them back to square one from where the question started.

Lucas was right. They had never heard about this group before or after the incident. Maybe they had a problem with that group of boys that they did things like these and -

Sebastian massaged his forehead. Ever since he has found out that his princess is such a hidden cunning cute cat he owns, he can’t help but think about her every time something suspicious and mysterious happens around him.

"Sir, there was a boy with her. When she pushed me out of the window, I clearly saw a boy wearing a black leather jacket with a handkerchief tied on his face, climbing the pipes to the room," Jacob said, and Sebastian hummed.

Well, it doesn’t look like it was his princess then. He sighed.

"I want you to investigate this matter. Let’s see if they are going to make a move again since we tried to capture one of their own.

Also, you probably only saw a lookalike of Marcello, and it was a preplan that the leader made.

It also means she knows even little things about the royals or there is no way she would’ve known that we are trying to look for Marcello," Sebastian stood from his place and walked out of the building.

"Lucas, ask a few men from the A team to train the B team once again. I don’t want a repeat of this incident. Also, look into all the mute girls if registered with any organization for the last ten years. There’s no way this leader collected all the girls one by one. There has to be some trace in some kind of organization," Sebastian said before they got inside the car to leave for the University again.
