The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 237: The truth in Sun city

Chapter 237: The truth in Sun city

In the Sun City, a team of royal spies spread in the entire area like wildfire as they checked every house and corner of the area they could.

Every order could be neglected and taken lightly, but when the prince himself came to investigate this time, they were left with no choice.

"Does anyone know what this is all about?" One of the guards asked as they walked towards another informer to get some information about all the suspicious persons they might have seen in the past few days.

"Look, don’t spread this information anywhere. My brother works directly under the prince, and he said that a rumor is going around that the prince probably is trying to find the mother of the human bride in the royal family," the man said.

"The royal human bride? The one who was brought to establish the peace in both the kingdoms?" The same man asked, and the latter hummed.

"It’s rumored that the princess is probably not the real daughter of the king of the hunter bloodline. She is the illegitimate daughter. She has been trying hard to find her mother all these years.

They say that the prince has probably fallen for her, and wants to help her," The man said.

"Fallen for her? The human bride? But isn’t she the bride of the youngest masked prince? Then this -"

"Sshhhh," The other guard shushed them as they saw the prince walking toward them in slow but long strides, his every step screaming his dominance and nobility as he looked around observantly, his aura demanding submission.

Though the prince never executed his dominance on others like the other royal princes, it was his intelligence, presence of mind, and cunningness that made him superior to most of the royal kids.

"Check every corner of the area and ask everyone around here. Talk to the people who are regular visitors to the club. I heard a lady’s voice in the background when that spy called me," The prince turned to them before he remembered something.

"The spy’s death must’ve caused an uproar in the club. It shouldn’t be something people would easily forget about either. Until and unless death is a norm here, they should be able to remember everything," the prince stood in front of a dinky pub-like thing and observed it carefully.

He noticed someone standing near the window of the club and watching them. However, as soon as their gazes met, he rushed inside.

"Talk to the bartender and everyone to know who that lady was. And if they recognize the people who suddenly came and took away that lady, it’s even better," the prince said, and the guards nodded before rushing to the bars and clubs around the area.

Since they had no idea that the phone call that the spy made that day would be his last phone call, they didn’t try to trace his location at that time.

Since those guys destroyed his phone after killing him, they resorted to looking into the last location of his phone using the number.

When the royal guards in the nearby area found them, they noticed how brutally he was murdered.

His last location was near these clubs and local slums and houses only, and remembering the light music in the background, and the weird lady’s maniac laugh, they could only decipher that he was in some kind of club.

"You guys check there. I will look into this one," Vincenzo said and walked towards the entrance of the club, a neutral yet dangerous expression on his face.

He looked at the closed door and quirked his brows.

He stood at the door and knocked thrice since there were no doorbells.

"The club is closed. Come later," a man’s voice came from inside.

Vincenzo turned to his secretary who immediately nodded.

"We know that. We have something to discuss about an incident that happened a few days ago," the secretary said.

"I don’t have anything to discuss. Look, we have to run the business and open in an hour. Let me prepare for the necessary things. Stop wasting my time," the man said, and the secretary looked at his prince whose expression was still neutral.

Vincenzo nodded at his secretary, a clear indication that he could use the identity card.

"I am sure you would have enough time to talk to a royal vampire," the secretary said, and the sound of something breaking inside the club reached out, making Vincenzo’s eyes droop as they heard some heavy shuffling.

"He will try to run from the backside. Go get him," Vincenzo said as he leaned on the wall and opened his phone.

His loyal spy was still in distress because of the death of his younger brother who had joined his team not long ago. And while things like these were completely normal in this kind of job, he felt guilty for it.

Now the only way to honor his death would be by finding the truth about that human princess for which that man lost his life. The truth about her mother, and all the related stuff that Stephano said.

He still doesn’t believe that a human can ooze any kind of different vibes until using some kind of fabricating scent, but since his elder brother was so sure, he was left with no choice.

After all, at the end of the day, he would help anyone just because they were standing against Sebastian, the monster who would lead the kingdom to death.

As Vincenzo has guessed, the man indeed tried to run away from the back door.

His secretary pulled that man all the way to the front of the club where his prince was standing.

"Please, let me go. I didn’t do anything. I swear I am innocent. Please, I don’t know anything. I have a little family. Please don’t hurt me," the man struggled against the secretary’s hold with his hands joined as he prayed for him to leave him alone.

"We are not going to hurt you. We just have a few questions from you, and would like the answers to those questions," Vincenzo said, towering over the man, who immediately looked at his secretary for reassurance.

"You won’t kill me after you get the information you are looking for? I didn’t do anything, please. I had no idea that those men would come out of nowhere and murder a person," the man stuttered, and Vincenzo smiled inwardly.

So his instinct was indeed right. This man indeed knew something. That’s why he was running away the first thing he saw was the royal guard walking in the area.

"Don’t worry. If you have done nothing wrong, we won’t kill you at all, neither now nor in the future," Vincenzo said, and the man nodded.

"Now we would like to know what exactly happened that day. The day when that man died in your club," the secretary said, and the man sighed.

"I am the manager of the club, sir. However, I have bits and pieces of what my bartender told me before running away because he was scared for life when those guards showed up and killed that man before taking away that woman," the man said.

"Guards?" Vincenzo raised his brows.

"Yes, sir. They were wearing matching attires. I am not sure, but they indeed looked like guards," The man said.

"What did the bartender tell you before running away -" Vincenzo couldn’t complete his sentence when one of the security guards rushed to him.

"Sir, we have found an old lady. It looks like she knows about what happened that day. She is saying she was inside that club when everything happened. However, she is demanding some money in exchange for information," the guard said.

"She knows that she is dealing with the royals, right?" The secretary asked, reading his prince’s annoyed expression.

"Yes, sir. She is saying, she will die of hunger anyway, and we won’t get any information. If she can trade the information for some money, it would be a winning situation for both parties," the guard said.

"Bring that lady here. Tell her if we like the information she has, we will give her 1000 dollars," Vincenzo said, and before the guard could turn around to go and bring the lady, she showed up.

"I am that woman," she said.

"What information do you have? I don’t have the entire day for it. So just be quick and precise about the information without exaggerating anything," Vincenzo said, and the lady nodded.

She told him everything. Starting from that woman’s appearance to how she started her story and whatever the old lady could remember about that woman.

To say Vincenzo was surprised would be an understatement. There was just so much of this information. They were only looking into whether the princess’s mom really had any kind of supernatural connection for her to have any kind of aura, but this -

"She said she killed her child with her own hands?" Vincenzo asked, and the old lady nodded.

"Honestly, prince, to me she looked nothing more than a crazy woman who was just making up things. Chances are everything she said was a lie," The old lady said.

And the chances are everything she said was exactly the truth that no one knew about, and the princess’ stepmom and dad were trying to hide. But then again, was she even the real Princess? Vincenzo thought.

"What did you say the woman’s name was again?" Vincenzo asked.

"They called her Galicia," the old lady said, and Vincenzo smiled.

Galicia.

It looks like he has found a bit of too much than it was needed. This royal meeting would indeed be fun. He smirked before looking at his watch.
