Chapter 207: The Ancient book- Who is inside her?

"What do you think you are doing?" Yaretzi hissed at Elliana, and the girl just glared at her.

It’s been an hour since she returned from the forest. She told Miss Zoya she was feeling unwell and ordered her food in the room. Though the caretaker was worried for her and insisted on her coming downstairs, Elliana knew she shouldn’t go in front of anyone when her emotions were all haywire.

"What do you think I am doing? I am reading a book," Elliana answered, not looking into the witch’s eyes.

Yaretzi clicked her fingers and pulled the book out of Elliana’s hand, looking at the content of it with raised brows.

"Where did you get this book?" Yaretzi asked, her eyes turning violet as she could clearly see what kind of book it was.

Elliana stood from her place, looking straight into the witch’s eyes.

"Who do you think you are asking these questions to? Know your place, you fool. Don’t dare to raise your eyes at me, brat," a voice came out of Elliana’s mouth, and Yaretzi’s pupils dilated a bit as her heart thumped loudly at the pressure she was emanating.

"What did you say?" She asked, unsure.

"Hmm? What did I say?" Elliana asked, genuinely confused, and Yaretzi shook her head, sitting on the sofa with a dazed look.

This voice. There’s no way she imagined it, right? Yaretzi looked at the oblivious girl before looking at the ancient witch’s book in her hand, Elliana was studying earlier.

"You didn’t answer me. Where did you get this book from?" Yaretzi asked again, and Elliana shrugged.

"Honestly, I found it. Or should I say the book found me? I mean, I went to the forest to calm my nerves about something I saw earlier at Univeristy, and I was quite frustrated," Elliana sighed, remembering the incident.

"Anyway, when I was returning, I saw this book lying near a tree. It was covered in soil. I think someone forgot this book. Or maybe it was buried there and surfaced after the recent tectonic movements," She completed the sentence.

It was quite weird. Elliana contemplated for quite some time if she should really pick a dirty book like that, but for some reason, as soon as she grabbed the book, it was almost as if someone sucked the sadness out of her body, and that feeling was enough to pique her curiosity.

She had been trying to understand the writings in this book, and though some parts of it are understandable, the other literature was written in a language that she doesn’t even recognize, let alone read.

Elliana sighed and looked at Yaretzi, who was deep in her thoughts, before she smiled at her.

Yaretzi turned the pages of the book awkwardly.

"I... Uh...So you were holding it quite interestingly earlier. Can you read it?" Yaretzi asked, her hand trembling just with the energy effects of this book that Elliana was holding so casually in her arms as if it was nothing more than a comic book.

"Of course, I can. It’s kind of messy. It looks like some child’s writing. Half of the things are indescribable," Elliana said.

Yaretzi looked back at the book and licked her bottom lip.

Elliana was pretty excited about whatever this book was.

Yaretzi wouldn’t have thought this was something big if she hadn’t felt the energy oozing from the book.

For a book to ooze this kind of energy and the blank papers that a witch like her wasn’t able to read, the indications were quite clear. This book was one of the highest powers books. But who could’ve left this book there? Was it really something Elliana found, or was it a planned move someone used to judge Elliana’s ability?

Either way, a book as harmful and knowledgeable as this one, shouldn’t be left with an ammateur girl like Elliana.

If she told Elliana that she, a strong witch, can’t read this book, then this human girl would stop taking her seriously.

The chances of meeting Prince Nath and other top-tier witches coming for Elliana will also decrease by a great value.

No. She can’t risk it. Yaretzi lifted her gaze and looked at Elliana, who was looking at her with a knowing smirk.

It was like Elliana knew exactly what was going on inside her head, and it irked her.

"So... Uh... What did you read so far?" Yaretzi asked, trying to keep her calm.

Elliana looked at the Yaretzi and started speaking whatever she read.

Yaretzi looked at the girl, wiping the sweat beads on her forehead. So not only she wasn’t able to see anything inside the book, but she wasn’t able to hear the words either? Yaretzi looked at Elliana’s moving lips and sighed.

She can’t pretend she understands everything when she can’t even hear anything.

"Okay, fine. Let’s get to the training part, yeah?" Yaretzi stood from her place and walked to the balcony.

She should start training her environment part since Elliana is having trouble regulating her emotions and is affecting the environment quite a lot, no? Yaretzi nodded at herself.

"Are you going to take that book with you? I found it. Keep it on the table," Elliana said.

Yaretzi looked at the girl awkwardly.

"I don’t think this book is for you. You don’t understand most parts of it, right? I’ll decipher it for you and -"

"Stop fooling the little girl, brat. Do you think you can read it?" Elliana’s eyes turned from amber brown to black, and Yaretzi widened her eyes, stumbling back.

"Y-you- who are you- what did you do to her? How did you -" Yaretzi kept backing.

The shock of seeing the pitch-black eyes of Elliana was so hard that her back bumped into the railing, and she fell down the railings, her eyes wide as she quickly clicked her fingers to vanish into thin air.

"Hey! Did you see that? I think someone was there!" One of the guards who was looking towards the palace said, and the other guard narrowed their eyes.

"That’s the prince’s room. Are you sure about it?" The other guards asked, and the guards nodded, making others look at each other.

"The prince is out of the palace right now. I don’t think it will be okay to go and check the room with the princess in the late evening like this," The guard said.

"And what if someone is there to harm our princess? The prince will skin us alive!" The guards said, and after thinking for a few seconds, they decided to go and check what was happening.

In the room, Elliana looked around with narrowed eyes, oblivious to what happened before.

Yaretzi said she was going to teach her. Where did she vanish suddenly? She shrugged before hiding the book between her clothes in her wardrobe since it looked like something secretive about witches.

She didn’t want Mr. Marino to read something like this and suspect her uselessly.

Meanwhile, at some distance on one of the trees of the forest, a witch in a dark black cloak sat and smiled at the girl who was oblivious to what was happening around her or what was inside her.

"My child, I finally found you," the lady laughed, her black eyes shining mischievously.
