The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 186: Drop dead
Chapter 186: Drop dead
It was quiet. The kind of silence that was deafening their ears. Alcinder and his group of friends looked at each other, some breathing shallowly, while some holding their breaths in fear of what would happen next.
"I can hear your hearts drumming in your chest. Why are you guys so afraid of me? It will only make me think you are afraid of getting caught," Sebastian smirked inside his mask as he felt everyone’s heart increasing even more.
He liked it. As Lucas warned everyone before, the devil feeds on fear, and he likes the taste of it.
"So...should I start from this side or this side?" Sebastian tilted his head.
He turned around and grabbed a long steel pipe-like thing before bending it like it wasn’t anything.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
He tapped the floor with the steel pipe, his every tap making everyone’s heart thump even more.
"Let’s pick people randomly," Sebastian said and was about to call the first person when Alcinder took a deep breath.
"Stop playing games, Mr. Tian. You want to find the culprit. Just ask them questions and get over it," Alcinder said, and Sebastian looked at him with bored cold eyes, his pitch-black eyes making Samantha hold Alcinder’s hand.
"What are you doing? Why are you pissing him off even more?" Samantha asked.
"Seriously, Samantha? You are asking me to stay wary of a mere bodyguard? He is not a ghost that I should be afraid of, and neither is he one of those royals that shouldn’t be truffled with," Alcinder said, and Lucas suppressed the urge to scoff.
’I beg your pardon. If you heard which royal vampire is he, I bet most of you would be pissing your pants already. Sebastian Marino wasn’t, the youngest vampire prince, the devil wasn’t just a tattle tale name that mothers tell their children about to make them fall asleep faster.
He was a nightmare that even elders stay wary of. Isn’t that why Grandpa Abramo is keeping him away from other princes? Because he is afraid he will be left with only his grandson if he lived there,’ Lucas looked at Alcinder before sighing.
If only this kid knew who he was messing with. They were indeed lucky today that Princess held him when he was the most angry or half of the crew would’ve been in that ocean.
"You want me to ask the questions and get over it? Isn’t that what you have been doing for the past thirty minutes in the meantime I took the princess to her room?" Sebastian quirked his brows, and Alcinder narrowed his eyes.
How did he know? Alcinder looked at Lucas before understanding. So Lucas and Mr. Tian has that kind of mind link between them. Do the other members of this devil that Lucas talked about connected to the mind link too? It can only happen if they are bound to each other with a blood pact.
That’s the only way you can talk to each other without looking into their eyes.
Though royals and the council members are the only ones who openly practice the blood pact, some groups have started to do this. It shouldn’t be hard to find those groups since they are not silent about it.
He didn’t want to do it. But after seeing how protective these people are of Elliana, how they can kill without thinking twice for her, and how she was so scared that her bodyguard would do something and the bodyguard blindfolded her before doing all this, he has a strong feeling that poor Elliana doesn’t know anything about these people or to what extent they go.
He can’t let that poor girl become a victim of these people. They like her now, but what if they don’t like her tomorrow? She will be the easiest to kill for them in the name of eating.
Besides, didn’t Lucas say there was nothing important about Elliana to them? The only thing that matters is that their so-called devil-named guy is obsessed with her, unfortunately.
"You, come here," Sebastian started, and the boy walked ahead, looking at his feet.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Sebastian looked at the guy before sighing.
"Look into my eyes," His voice was barely a cold hiss, and the boy flinched when Sebastian raised his hand to run them through his hair, shutting his eyes even more.
"I said look into my eyes," Sebastian grabbed his neck, making everyone step back subconsciously as Sebastian forced the guy to look into his eyes.
’Please don’t hurt me. I didn’t do anything. God, save me. I don’t want to die for something I didn’t do,’ Sebastian read the boy’s boring thoughts and left him, making him drop to the ground as he flailed away from him.
"He is not the culprit. You," Sebastian pointed at another girl.
Boston who was looking at everything unfolding in front of him gulped. He wasn’t the second culprit.
He didn’t want to get involved in any kind of mess and that’s why he didn’t help that girl, but judging from how the bodyguard was looking into everyone’s eyes and deciding whether they were culprits or not, it was clear that he was reading minds, and if he read his mind - Boston wiped his sweating hands on his pants, this small action not going unnoticed by Sebastian who already checked 23 people like this.
"You deal with the real estate business and pharmaceutical sector for vampires, right? What are you doing here among these kids?" Sebastian slid his steel pipe on the ground, walking towards him slowly.
With every step Sebastian took, Boston’s head pounded with dread, and he took a deep shaky breath, trying his best to mask his emotions and calm his raging heart.
"Step ahead," Sebastian said, and he was about to hold Boston’s hand when he paused.
"Mr. Tian," Elliana’s soft voice came, and Sebastian turned to the stairs where Elianna was standing.
"What are you all doing here? I told you this was over, didn’t I? You said you won’t do anything anymore," Elliana said.
"I didn’t say I won’t punish the second culprit, Princess. In fact, I think I made it very clear that no one lives after touching you," Sebastian said, his eyes narrowed as he looked at her nightdress.
Though it was nothing suggestive, it looked strangely appealing, and he wanted to gouge every eye that was looking at her legs.
Everyone felt a wave of hope when Elliana arrived, thinking she would take her bodyguard away, but to their surprise, she shrugged.
"Okay. Do as you please," Elliana said, her nonchalance making Sebastian narrow his brows.
"Mr. Pabalo, I can’t fall asleep. Can you please stay with me?" Elliana looked at Lucas.
Lucas -"..." Please don’t bring me into this.
Lucas gulped and looked at his sir as he felt the temperature around him drop.
"Princess, go back to your room. I’ll be there in some time," Sebastian said in his controlled voice.
"Mr. Tian is busy at the moment, trying to find the second culprit. Can you stay with me in the meantime?" Elliana batted her eyelashes at Lucas, who bit his lower lip, his hands trembling.
"Please," Elliana grabbed the corner of his coat, and Lucas felt his heart thumping.
Shit. What was he supposed to do at a time like this?
"Mr. Pabalo, I -" Elliana paused when they heard the sound of the steel pipe being thrown away, making a few of them gasp.
"Damn it!" Sebastian growled and walked to her in long strides.
He took off his overcoat and placed it over her shoulders before picking her up bridal style.
"You are impossible. I know what you did just now and I hope you have a good explanation for this," He said, taking her away, and Elliana sighed.
"I just hope she will be fine," Lucas sighed, and everyone looked at the weird bodyguards before sighing.
On the other side, Nathaniel finished his food as he looked at the scene with a cold expression.
"Sterben," Nathaniel looked at the ship before walking away, and the witches looked at each other before looking at the people on the ship.
"Let’s go. We have had enough drama for the night, and -" Alcinder paused when he saw a few people’s faces pailing.
"Hey! Are you okay? Hey, hey, look at me," He rushed to the group of people whose faces started turning purple as if someone was suffocating them.
Grrrrr... The sounds of people puking started echoing, and Alcinder was shocked to see them coughing blood.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Everyone who was fine looked at the people who started dropping on the ship, dead, making them gulp.
What the hell was happening?!
"Quickly! Everyone go inside! It’s some magical attack that we can’t dodge!" Alcinder ordered, and everyone started running here and there.
"Nathaniel! What are you doing?" Arizona asked when she noticed what was happening.
"What? Did any of them step forward to help my fiance? What use is their life if they can’t help others? Also, it would’ve looked strange if I had only killed the second culprit. I love Elliana too. I had to do something to avenge her humiliation, no?" Nathaniel smirked, and Arizona thinned her lips as she looked at the leaving man.
