Chapter 170: Elliana slapped him?

"Hmm, okay," Elliana was about to close the windows when Sebastian placed his hand on hers, which she immediately pulled away, making him look at her hand that she clenched by her side.

"Are you okay?" Sebastian asked, and Elliana nodded softly.

"Yes. You don’t have to worry about that. I won’t die before you get the throne," Elliana said and tried to close the window again, but Sebastian’s hand stopped her from doing so.

"How did you get hurt?"

"I fell on my way back and lost my way," Elliana sighed, her gaze flickering to his hand that was holding the windows as if wanting to break them.

"Is there anything else?" Elliana asked.

"Yes. The ship won’t sail because of the bad weather. So I heard we will go back home after this," Sebastian said, and Elliana nodded.

"I heard from Samantha. It’s good in a way. I have delayed your work quite a lot. You won’t have to pretend to be my bodyguard anymore, and we’ll go back to our daily lives. If you want you can avoid me at home- at the palace I mean," Elliana smiled.

Sebastian didn’t like the tone she was using with him. She wasn’t disrespectful to him. In fact, she was being too polite, so polite that it was suffocating him.

It made him feel like he was talking to someone else and not the person he has grown accustomed to, the person who knows how to joke around, who would blush every time he would hold her hand and not jerk it back in awkwardness as she did just now.

He didn’t like any of it, and the more wary Elliana was with him, the more he hated it.

"Do you have anything else to say, Prince?" Elliana asked, and Sebastian’s eyes narrowed before they darkened.

"It’s Mr. Marino to you until you learn to start calling me by my name," Sebastian grabbed her chin, and he was about to pull in for a kiss out of habit when he saw, the edginess in her eyes. An edginess that he has never seen before.

His hands froze on her face. He couldn’t move for a second. Those teary eyes were looking at him as if she was afraid he would kill her then and there if she made a wrong move.

"I wouldn’t want to be so wishful, Mr. Prince. Giving each other nicknames makes you feel close to that person, and I have been told that we are anything but that," Elliana looked at her feet before smiling.

"Isn’t that exactly why you never called me by my name or my surname or anything? It was always ’Princess’ to you. Now I know the reason. I always thought there was some emotion behind the way you used to say it, but I have been delusional for quite some time. It must’ve been funny," Elliana said before looking at Sebastian, whose anger was only turning uglier than before.

Lucas, who had been watching his prince becoming restless for the past thirty minutes, pressed his lips into a thin line.

It was obvious that his Prince was just trying to find ways to be close to the princess or just talk to her.

Even though his prince would never agree to that, the guilt was taking over him slowly. And more than that, he was now used to being around the princess and seeing her goofy side, which was exclusively available to him only.

What his princess was saying was completely false. If his prince didn’t have any feelings for her, he had just called her by her name. That’s how he always calls others, by their names. Completely detached.

Saying her name wasn’t a big deal for him.

However, it was because she put an impression and impact on him the first day she came here with her soft ways and answers to his questions, his prince called her Princess.

She might just think that it was nothing more than her status in the palace, but to his prince, Lucas knew this was more intimate than anything he could’ve called her.

All those love names kept aside, ’Princess’ nickname was an emotion for his prince, and though that coldhearted devil would never agree to it, the onlookers could see the truth crystal clear.

"Okay," Sebastian said once Elliana stopped talking.

Elliana nodded and expected him to remove his hand, but to her surprise he just pulled her even closer, making her widen her eyes as she gasped, her knees hitting the wall because of the impact. However, Sebastian couldn’t care less at this time.

He was angry, and she was the reason behind it. Her calm talks were the reason behind it. He didn’t like her like this, like some scaredy cat who was standing in front of a stranger. No. He won’t allow that.

If she wants to act like this, he knows how to bring out the talkative side of her, the side that doesn’t shy away from expressing herself and whose heart beats for him and only him when he touches her.

Sebastian looked at her resolutely, and Elliana gulped.

Though she appeared calm and collected, her mind was a complete mess.

She has no idea what the hell was going on anymore. Wasn’t he the one who said he doesn’t want to have any relationship with her, and that he was just pretending to be caring for her because he wants to get to the throne?

Then why the hell is that when she is ready to like him from afar and is trying her best to keep her distance, he has a problem with that? What was going on in his mind?

Does it really matter if she calls him Prince or Mr. Marino? He just wanted to stay clear of her, so he can do that. What is stopping him? And more than that, why was he bothering with her?

There was no one around here. There was no need to enact anything. Heck, he doesn’t even need to talk to her. She was supposed to be resting anyway.

It looks like she will have to take matters into her hand. She narrowed her eyes before clenching his fists and raising her hand.

Pat!

The sound was loud enough for even Lucas to hear, and he widened his eyes in utter shock. His princess didn’t just do that, did she?

Sebastian was no better. Did the princess just slap -

He looked at her in utter shock, and Elliana smiled awkwardly.

"I am sure you don’t want everyone to ask why I have fingerprints on my cheeks. And that’s why you wouldn’t do that on this trip anymore, right?" Elliana bowed like he was some king and she was a slave before she closed the window door, jumping at the opportunity caused by Sebastian’s shocked state.

Sebastian gulped as he looked at his hand, still shocked.

"Sir, are you okay?" Lucas thinned his lips as he looked at his prince.

"She slapped me," Sebastian said, disbelief clear in his words.

Lucas -"..."

"Sir, technically she swatted your hand away," Lucas corrected his prince.

"Is there any difference? How dare that insolent girl!" Sebastian’s eyes narrowed.

"Sir, you were grabbing her jaws like you wanted to rip them apart. What did you expect?" Lucas said before realizing his mistake.

"I... I... I remember I had to make a call to Harry," Lucas stuttered before running away like his pants were on fire.

Sebastian looked at the closed window before looking at his hand. He brought his hand close to his face and sniffed it.

The lingering smell of her touch was still there. It was sweet. Sebastian smiled inwardly before narrowing his eyes and clenching his hands in a fist.

He will definitely teach her a lesson for this.
