Sebastian and Alcinder had walked only a few steps ahead when they heard the rustling of leaves.

Everyone looked towards the forest where the bushes were shaking. What was it? Some wild animal who was seeking shelter because of heavy rain?

They waited to see what it was, ready to attack if it was some kind of wolf boar.

However, what they saw was a silhouette in the dark, walking towards them, more like stumbling and stuttering.

It wasn’t some wild animal, but definitely, a wild human who has made everyone worry for her.

"Elliana?" Alcinder was the first one to whisper, and without waiting for anyone’s reply or actions, he used his vampire speed and held her in his arms.

"Elliana, what the hell? What is wrong? Why are you walking like this? And what the hell were you doing in the wild in the first place," Alcinder asked, cupping her cheeks, supporting her with his other hand on her waist.

"I know you hate me, but can you at least take me inside before asking me all these questions?" Elliana whispered, barely keeping her eyes open, and Alcinder nodded.

Sebastian watched it with dark eyes. The way that the council head’s son bent and picked the princess in his arms was like a slow movie reel that was teasing and testing his patience.

He didn’t like it. Anyone touching and holding the princess in his arms like he owns her, Sebastian didn’t like a second of it. And he wanted to dismember his arms that were touching his princess.

Even if he was the last person she should fall for, she still belonged to him. How dare she let another man touch her when he was right in front of her?

Was this some kind of challenge or rebellion?

"Princess!" Lucas shouted as soon as he reached there and saw her, and Elliana smiled at the subordinate.

"Mr. Pablo, I am fine," Elliana said while Alcinder walked ahead with a serious expression on his face.

Elliana was bleeding slightly, her hands were scratched, and as much control as he had over his senses, she was still a human and her blood was still one of the best things he has smelt so far.

"You don’t have to take me all the way to the bed. Just put me down now. I think I can move," Elliana whispered to Alcinder who looked down at her with narrowed eyes.

"I am not taking you to your room. I am taking you to my room," Alcinder said, shocking everyone, including Elliana.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Elliana knitted her brows.

"My meaning is very clear. Samantha thinks it was her responsibility to keep you safe on this trip, and something like this happened. We can clearly see that your bodyguards or whatever they are, aren’t capable of taking care of you.

Heck, they didn’t even know you weren’t in that Inn. I am the only person who has gotten a single room in this Inn. So you are coming with me to my room," Alcinder said, and Lucas gulped.

His hair on the neck stood as he felt his prince’s anger rising again. The same anger that promises you a nasty death. Sebastian was breathing like an angry demon who was provoked and ready to hunt.

No matter how strained their relationship was, deep down Lucas knew that his Prince cared for this human girl a lot.

There was no way he would let any other man take her to his room.

Nope. Not going to happen. Lucas smiled inwardly before his smile froze when he saw his prince walking to Alcinder and Elliana.

’Sh*t,’ Lucas thought before rushing behind him to handle things if he thought pulling the council head’s son’s heart would be a good idea.

"Come here," Sebastian’s voice was restrained, an authority in his words that no one should deny if they want to live, and Elliana looked into his eyes before tilting her head.

Sebastian’s eyes were screaming only one thing and very clearly - Don’t play with fire, princess.

However, Sebastian was in for a surprise when Elliana clenched her fists around Alcinder’s shoulders.

She loves playing with fire because as Yaretzi had said, fire doesn’t burn her, and not will this Prince’s words or actions.

"I won’t"

It was indeed rebellion. Sebastian gritted his teeth.

"Princess, don’t test -"

"Yo, back off, dude. She said no. What is your problem? You are her bodyguard, not her husband. Why the hell do you keep meddling with her decisions all the time? She is a grown adult and not some kid you have the authority over," Daniel said, standing in front of Alcinder and Elliana, and Sebastian smirked inside the mask.

Would everyone be surprised if he kills this kid in front of him? His eyes were brewing a storm that Elliana could see very clearly.

Elliana could feel the evilness in his eyes and the vibes that he was oozing, promising nothing good.

"On a serious note, it’s better if I go back to my room and put some ointment on it," Elliana quickly said, and Sebastian turned around before leaving, shocking Lucas.

That’s it? He won’t do anything at all? He would let another man take his princess?

This wasn’t like his prince at all. What was going on inside his head?

"Fine. Let’s go. But someone is staying out of your room all the time until we are here. And you need to tell us what the hell was going on inside your head when you thought rushing to the forest alone was a good idea," Alcinder said, pressing her closer to his chest, making Elliana nod like an obedient kid.

Samantha looked between her love and her friend and narrowed her eyes. Could it be that what Gabrielle said was true? That Alcinder feels for Elliana more than just a friend?

In the long duration, she has known him, he has never allowed any woman in his room before, and to say he offered that to Elliana as if it was something very normal.

Could it be that he was inclining more towards Elliana, and it wasn’t just about her human self and safety anymore? Samantha bit her lower lip as she followed the duo to Elliana’s room.

"She is being rebellious," Sebastian said as they walked to the other side of the Inn, and Lucas narrowed his eyes, not saying anything.

"She is doing this deliberately," Sebastian added again, and this time Lucas couldn’t control his curiosity.

"What are you talking about, sir?"

"Your princess, she is doing all this to make me jealous and catch my attention. I am sure that’s what she had been planning all the time, and that’s why she jumped into that Vampire’s arms without a second thought," Sebastian said.

"Sir, she didn’t JUMP into his arms. She was literally wounded and unable to walk properly. That guy you are hating, HELPED our princess.

She is staying away from you as you wanted. She is trying her best to stay away and not have you meddle in her business. You don’t even have to pretend to care for her. Isn’t it a win-win for you?" Lucas started the facts, and Sebastian looked at him angrily.

"You know nothing about it. You are not the one dealing with it. She is doing all this to catch my attention. She knows how much I hate when someone touches my possessions. That’s why she is testing me," Sebastian said, punching a tree down

Lucas -"..." Delusional much?

The subordinate looked at his prince who was giving a hundred reasons to himself as to why he felt bad for her and blamed it on the princess in any way he could.

What he thinks is that his princess has already weaved inside his prince’s heart in a way that no matter how much he tries to hate her, he won’t be able to do so. Lucas smiled at his thoughts.
