"T-take responsibility? How do I do that?" Elliana asked, confused before she sat quickly and looked into his eyes.

Sebastian had already worn his mask earlier and she was glad for it because she didn’t know if she would be able to look at his lips without being embarrassed about what she did.

She extended her wounded hand to him with a resolute look, and Sebastian sat before looking at her, tucking her hair behind her ears with a smile.

"What are you doing?" He narrowed his eyes.

"You said I should calm the monster inside you. Will giving my blood be okay? Or should I slice my wrist?" Elliana asked, looking as innocent as ever, and he noticed how she was looking for a sharp stone to do that.

He couldn’t take it anymore. He snuck his hand around her waist before pulling her with a jerk, making her body fall on his.

"Mr. Marino?"

"What am I supposed to do with your hand? Should I heal it for you?" Sebastian asked, and Elliana shook her head.

"Won’t you like to have a drink?" Elliana asked, and Sebastian looked into her unadulterated eyes before lying back on the ground without saying anything.

"Ummm... Is something wrong?" She asked after a few seconds.

"How will I live with you? How can you be so innocent? Do you really not have any idea what I was talking about?" Sebastian raised his head to look at the girl, who was looking down at her lap.

Where was the expression from earlier? Where did that boldness go? She really didn’t understand. He sighed.

Sometimes he feels like he is teaching every single thing to her, and she just mimics it. But then, if that’s the case, shouldn’t he enjoy teaching her seeing how she is so good at it?

A smirk made its way on Sebastian’s face, and he sat again, holding the back of her head before pulling her forward, her face only an inch away from his as he forced her to look into his wide shocked eyes.

"When I say you need to take responsibility for my awakened monster, this is what I mean," Sebastian took her hand in his and placed it on his chest, making Elliana gulp as she momentarily looked down.

He could see she was getting shy from this proximity and the devil inside of him loved it. Her red ears and cheeks were a clear indication of that.

He didn’t want to stop. And that’s why, rather than leaving her hand, he trailed it down his body slowly, her heart’s loud and fast pace, making him want to smile proudly.

Elliana gulped as she felt and noticed where her hand was going, and her cheeks turned even redder than before.

Sebastian looked down at her hand that was just an inch away from the tent forming in his trousers and then looked at her Adam’s apple that bobbed up and down before smiling.

"Maybe it’s still not the right time for it. I don’t want to scare you, but just so you know, I have this on my mind. This is what I desire. So be prepared for it. Because -" Sebastian cupped her cheeks, rubbing her bottom lip with his thumb before smiling inwardly at her, showing his emotions and desires to her through his eyes.

"- next time I might not be able to control myself," Sebastian’s gaze moved to her lips for a minuscule second before he stood and picked her up bridal style.

"Let’s go, my Princess," He said, his words declaring a belongingness that Elliana didn’t notice because of her embarrassment.

Elliana placed her head on his beating chest, closing her eyes to calm down.

After fifteen minutes, they finally reached the inn, and Lucas who was earnestly waiting for them to return, looked at the princess in horror.

Her hair was disheveled with various leaves and soil in them. Her clothes were torn from various places, and she was clearly bleeding from the scent she was giving off.

The prince was no better. His clothes were torn and his hair was soiled.

"What happened, sir?" Lucas approached them cautiously.

"Is Princess okay?" Lucas walked to them, and Sebastian narrowed his eyes before hugging her tighter as if wanting to hide her from the world.

"Don’t come close," Sebastian warned, and Lucas paused in his steps.

"I am sorry, sir," Lucas turned around, making Sebastian narrow his eyes before he took the princess back to her room.

He placed her on the soft mattress before looking at her.

She really fell asleep. This stupid girl really has some good sleeping habits. She can sleep anywhere and everywhere, no?

He kept looking at her, trying to figure her out.

No element in his life was as unpredictable and as big as Elliana. Everything around her has started to become so mysterious these days. Was she the same human being he married? Why does she not feel the same?

Was it because of his changing emotions for her? Or was it because she was gaining his trust slowly, and the devil inside him that hates humans with a passion can’t seem to take it?

"Princess, you need to clean yourself before you sleep. It’s not a good habit. Come here. Let me help you take -" Sebastian paused when he felt someone’s presence in the room.

"Who is there? Show yourself if you don’t want me to throw a dagger that would pass straight through your face," Sebastian’s eyes narrowed, and Melony walked out of the corner.

Her gaze moved between the bodyguard and Elliana before she settled back to look at the bodyguard, who was looking at her with narrowed eyes.

"She is sleeping," Sebastian said. His feelings were clear from these three words. Melony kept looking at the man that probably wanted her out of the room now.

"I can see that. But what I can also see is that you are overly close to her even as her bodyguard. Who do you think you are touching like this?" Melony asked, her gaze shifting to his hand that was below Elliana’s neck and the other hand on her shoulder.

If Melony didn’t know any better, it would’ve surely looked like he was Elliana’s lover or something.

"How I treat my princess shouldn’t be a matter of concern to you. What are you doing here? And why did you feel the need to hide? Were you planning on doing something?" Sebastian stood straight, and Melony noticed his torn clothes and disheveled state before she noticed the same thing with Elliana.

Her earlier demeanor and suspicion regarding Elliana’s bodyguard immediately disappeared, and she rushed to them.

"What happened to her? Is she okay? Why are you guys like this? Did someone attack you? Was it in the forest?" Melony asked one after the other.

Sebastian looked at the concerned friend of his wife before humming. He remembered how Elliana attacked his lips and heart when they had fallen down the cliff and how sensually she has kissed him, awakening his deepest desires.

"We indeed got attacked," Sebastian mused in his heart, looking at the princess with a sigh.

"Hey, princess, you need to wake up. Clean yourself first. I won’t hear you moan about how you slept in your dirty state in the morning," Sebastian tried again, but when Elliana didn’t wake up, he pinched his brows in annoyance.

If Melony hadn’t been here, he would’ve surely grabbed the opportunity and kissed his princess senselessly and recklessly to wake her up, but now he will have to resort to something else.

Sebastian thought before looking at the jug of water.

With an annoyed look, he grabbed the jug and emptied some of the water on Elliana, making her gasp and she immediately jolted awake.

"What the f*ck?! Are you in -" Elliana shouted, her gaze on Melony before it shifted to Mr. Marino, who was standing with quirked brows, and she coughed awkwardly.

"Tian, did you need anything?" Elliana immediately became docile, and it wasn’t hard for Melony to notice the change.

Though she is quite wishful and comfortable around her bodyguard, anyone could see that she is quite wary of him too. She doesn’t want to misbehave and appear like a spoiled brat either.

Could it be that the person Elliana likes is- Melony looked at the bodyguard and raked her gaze up and down his figure.

She doesn’t know anything about his face, but she can’t see why anyone won’t fall for this God-like figure.

"Wash up, first. I am in the room beside yours. If you feel weird just say my name, and I’ll appear here," Sebastian said to Elliana, and she nodded before standing from her place.

"Goodnight, Princess," Sebastian looked at Elliana, suppressing the urge to cup her cheeks, which has become his favorite thing to do, and she smiled at him.

"Goodnight," She said before closing the door once he left.

"What are you doing here?" Elliana asked Melony who shrugged and plopped on the bed.
