"Have we received any information about that shapeshifter kid?" Sebastian looked at Lucas as soon as he reached the office, and Lucas nodded his head.

"Yes, sir. He came from the East shapeshifters zone. He came here with his parents to attend their shapeshifters carnival that is held a few kilometers away from the vampire Kingdom. Unfortunately, he got lost in the crowd, and he has been looking for them. That’s how he ended up entering the kingdom and our place," Lucas paused.

"Our forests are similar to the ones in his place back at home, so that’s why he rushed inside without a care in the world. He thought his parents abandoned him, and that was why he was so angry and anxious," Lucas ended his explanation, and Sebastian rolled the paperweight as he played with it.

"And do you believe this story? This guy is more than 14 years old, right? He has gained his shifting powers so that’s what I am hoping. It means he has activated his sensing powers too. When the guards must’ve stopped him at the boundaries, he must’ve been able to sense that these were vampires, and he still entered the forest. Or were there no guards at that time?" Sebastian asked, and Lucas shook his head.

"There were four guards, sir," Lucas said, and Sebastian hummed.

"That’s what I am talking about. He is still hiding something. Keep asking him and start inflicting some pain to scare him," Sebastian said, and Lucas nodded.

He waited for the prince to say something about why the royals were here, and how he was going to proceed with their plan. However, when the prince didn’t say anything and looked like he was deep in thought, Lucas looked at the prince, curiously.

"What are you thinking about, sir?" Lucas asked, and Sebastian released a drawn-out sigh.

"I am thinking about the princess,"

"About Princess? What about her? Do you have something in mind?" Lucas asked, his curiosity piqued even more.

"This reminds me, you need to clear my schedule for the next three days. Princess is going on vacation with her friends,"

"You are going with her too?" Lucas asked. Wasn’t it a bit too much? This way the princess might think that the prince doesn’t trust her enough, and that’s why he is being so clingy.

"Kind of. I will go with her as Tian. The person she met in the forbidden wings, without the mask," Sebastian said.

It came as a surprise to Lucas. So his prince was ready to take off his mask in front of the whole world just because he wanted to pretend to be someone else while keeping a keen eye on the princess? Wasn’t this almost screaming that he is ready to risk his years-long resolution for her?

"But I am confused," Sebastian thinned his lips, still playing with the paperweight.

"If I go there with her as Tian, even if I wear my mask, she’ll only think of me as the Prince’s best friend. Which means I’ll have to maintain a respectful distance from her, and probably take orders from others, which I don’t want," Sebastian said.

"Then you shouldn’t go. Should I ask Garry and Harry to clear their schedule for the next three days?" Lucas asked.

"But if I went like a prince, everyone would know about the princess’ identity, and she would become the target. Besides, she would be a bit too cautious in a place where she should enjoy," Sebastian said, completely ignoring Lucas’s suggestion.

Lucas looked at his prince observantly before muttering again. Maybe he didn’t hear him, "Why are you going in the first place, sir? It’s not like there would be any humans there that she can collude with. Shouldn’t you let her enjoy the trip by herself?"

As if Lucas’s words were some kind of curse Sebastian looked at him from under his lashes with a glare that made Lucas stiff in his place.

"I... I mean, it’s good to make her believe we trust her so she opens up soon, right?" Lucas changed her words, and Sebastian shook his head.

"No. I must keep her under observation. We should never underestimate these humans. They are more cunning than you can ever imagine," Sebastian said.

Lucas nodded at his prince. He understood where he was coming from. After everything that those humans did, it’s hard to trust them.

"Well, if you must go, then it’s better to go under the pretense of Tian only. You can wear the mask, as you have mentioned earlier. Besides, if someone orders you, you can say you are obliged to order from the princess only, and from how much we have observed her, she would barely order anyone," Lucas said, and Sebastian hummed.

"But if I go as Tian, I would’ve to sleep in a different room. I won’t be able to share the bed with the princess. How will she sleep alone with so many strangers? That’s bad. She will need me," Sebastian murmured as if it was the biggest dilemma of the century.

Lucas -"..." Didn’t you say you were going to keep an observation on her? Why are you acting like an obsessive husband now?

"Then you should go as the prince -" Lucas started.

"But she won’t be able to enjoy the vacation that way. You said that just now. I don’t want her to think I don’t trust her either. She should enjoy it with her friends," Sebastian said.

Lucas looked at his prince and suppressed the urge to groan out loud. This was the first time he was contemplating things so much. He didn’t even think this much when he went to wipe out an entire attacking camp of humans.

Why was he making such a big deal out of it? It was just a vacation. A vacation to the islands.

"Well, I don’t know about other things, but from how much I have judged our princess, she is the loyal type. Under no circumstances will she let Tian enter her bed or even touch her. You heard her whining about how Tian was a scoundrel just because he held her hand. If you have trouble deciding, we can send someone else. I’ll go and arrange things. Do let me know what you decide so that I can reschedule the meetings," Lucas said, leaving the prince to his dilemma.

As soon as Lucas stepped out of the office room and walked at some distance, he looked around before bursting into laughter.

"Pffftt... Haha, he is so worried about sleeping on the same bed! And he says he is going there to keep a keen observation of her. What a joke!" Lucas chuckled before pausing when his eyes met Ambrose’s.

"Dude, come here. Let me give you some gossip," Lucas said, and just like that, everyone who was shipping for their princess and prince to stay together heard what was going inside their prince’s head.
