Chapter 372- He’s Not What He Seems

Chapter 372: Chapter 372- He’s Not What He Seems

After the buzzing in Sol’s mind calmed down, he smiled bitterly and said.

"Master, I’m glad to see you too."

"Huh??!!"

The old man seemed more enraged.

"Damn brat! Is that why you contacted me?!"

Sol’s smile became even more bitter.

"Ah, no Master, there’s something I... uh..."

Sol’s mind blanked out for a moment, and he couldn’t speak any further.

It wasn’t that he didn’t know what to say or that he had nothing to say. In fact, he had a lot of questions he wanted to ask his Master.

Heon-Jae, Cheong-San, Cheong-Su, Byeong-Ho, and Ji-Hoo had received Immortal inheritances. Did he gather them together and send them on a mission inside the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension knowing what was going to happen? Did he plan it?

But did he also plan for Ji-Hoon to go down that path? Did he also plan for him to be there and help them? Is that why he told them he was his disciple?

Ji-Hoon and the others said their plan to enter the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension started around three to four years ago at that time.

When he was leaving him alone in Ibbian Mountain Range, was he leaving to plan this?

Not only that, but what about his meeting with Byeong-Ho and his Master the Third Grand Elder of the Martial Alliance Academy?

If Sol had never climbed the Heavenly Staircase, then he would have never been qualified to be invited to the Plum Blossom Gathering and his meeting with Byeong-Ho and his Master would never have happened.

And as it turns out, Byeong-Ho and his Master were related to the Forgotten Sect. Did he plan for him to meet them? What was his relationship with the Third Grand Elder?

Was this one of the contingency plans he talked about? Just how many such plans did he make?

What about the Eternal Desert? He was from the Barbarian Race; did he know about what happened to them? That someone wielding Holy Energy attacked the Barbarian Race in the past?

But wasn’t the barrier separating the two sides of this massive continent there at that time, so how could someone wielding Holy Energy appear in the Eastern Continent?

Altair had said that a crisis had befallen the Western Continent around the same the Immortals of the Eastern Continent died. Did the Eastern Continent cause that catastrophe? Was there a war in the past?

And the most pressing question of all!

How did he create his Seven Runic Paths of Samsara Formation? Could he show him that mysterious item he gained enlightenment from? Was there even a mysterious item?

All of these questions spun and spun in Sol’s mind but as one of them came to the tip of his tongue, he found that he couldn’t voice it.

A few breaths worth of time passed as Sol remained silent. The old man became more enraged.

"Brat are you purposely trying to waste my time?! Wait until I see you, you think I won’t dare break every bone in your body?!"

Sol immediately snapped out of his chaotic thoughts to say.

"Ah, Master, please don’t be angry. I just need to organize my thoughts."

The old man hearing that seemed to calm down as he snorted and urged.

"Get on with it already, but you better not tell me how you’re struggling to keep up in the Academy! Those fools from the Western Continent should already be there by now, and those bastards from the Sects and Clans should be holding that Tournament. If you don’t get first place and trample those bastards’ disciples, then I’ll make you wish you were dead!"

Sol knew his Master was talking about Yoon-Jae and Ushi.

He forced a smile and said.

"Master, can’t you use positive encouragement to get me to work harder? Who threatens their disciple with torture if they don’t perform?"

"Hah? Brat, don’t think I don’t know you secretly enjoy getting hurt."

"Wha-What?! No, I don’t!"

Sol immediately denied, but he then paused before muttering under his breath.

"It’s just that getting hurt correlates to getting stronger for me. It’s not my fault my body’s situation is like this. Anyway!"

Sol suddenly changed the subject.

"Master, I... I got a girlfriend."

Silence came from the other end of the line as if the old man was completely taken aback by Sol’s sudden claim. But Sol didn’t give him a chance to respond as he continued.

He talked about the friends he had made, and what had happened since he entered the Academy.

What happened in the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension, the follow-up incident in Peal City, as well as him being framed for Geon-Soo’s death and Little Zeel’s condition that made him travel to the Eternal Desert.

"Master, Mar-Dule is the person you almost made your disciple, right? What about Mar-Yue? Her talent was no less than Mar-Dule’s own so why didn’t you consider her to become your disciple? Master don’t tell me you were being biased because she’s a girl? Master, if that’s true then I won’t forgive you. Mar-Yue is extremely talented so you can’t look down at her!"

The old man finally spoke.

"Brat, are you trying to rub your cultivation partner in my face? Let me tell you, when I was in my prime, I had several celestial beauties under my arms everywhere I went! And you think their talents were any less than their looks? You’re really looking down on this old man you brat!"

Sol’s face ridden slightly but he still said.

"Master, you’re just boasting again. But I’m telling the truth, Mar-Yue is... she’s... she’s one of a kind!"

Sol’s cheeks flushed even more, especially after he heard his Master suddenly burst out laughing.

He felt like he was introducing his girlfriend to a family member, but it was more than embarrassing how he was doing so.

The old man finally calmed down after laughing for a minute straight before saying.

"Brat, it’s good that you’re enjoying your youth as I advised."—the old man’s voice suddenly turned serious—"I know that you have a lot of questions on your mind, but I can’t answer most of them. Either I don’t know myself or they’re secrets that will do no good for you knowing when you’re so weak. But as for the questions that concern your safety..."

The old man paused.

"...Yes, you meeting Little Ho was one of my contingency plans."

"Little Ho? Master, are you talking about Byeong-Ho’s Master?"

"Yes..."—the old man paused again before continuing—"I taught him a few things in the past, so he could be considered half your Disciple Brother."

Sol found that strange, but he asked.

"Is there anyone else who you’ve taught?"

After a pause, the old man said.

"Yes, but they’re all dead."

He was blunt, but Sol could detect a familiar sense of loss and regret in his Master’s voice. He then recalled the story Mar-Dule had told him about Cheonma and his seven Demonic Disciples in the Martial Arts Library.

Sol didn’t want his Master to remember something he didn’t want to, so he asked.

"Master, are there any more contingencies that you planned?"

"Hm, there are a few more, but hopefully you’ll never have to know of them... Brat, it looks like I have to go now."

The old man suddenly sounded rushed.

"Oh, and before I go, I need to tell you to be careful of that Nian Beast. He’s not what he seems."

Sol froze, he didn’t know what to say after hearing that.

"And try to control that Killing Intent of yours, I’d rather not see those contingencies activate because you went on a massacre. There’s a time and place for everything, and now’s not the time."

Sol’s eyes couldn’t help but narrow upon hearing that. But before he could ask anything, his Master spoke.

"Goodbye Brat, you won’t get me in a while so stay safe."

The jade slip connection was then severed. Sol looked down at the purple jade slip in his hand for a moment before he slowly put it away.

His mind wandered back to his Master’s warning? —of Little Abdu.

"Just what should I make of that? I don’t think he meant that Little Abdu would harm me."

Sol glanced down at his right hand and the blue rune appeared on the back of it. His senses went inside, and a large space appeared before him.

A pile of Aether Stones in the tens of millions glittered brightly in one corner while a pile of books was in another.

In the middle of the large space was Little Abdu lying down. A mist of Death Energy was swirling around him, but it was contained within a three-meter radius.

Sol blinked when he saw this mist.

His eyes then grew wider and wider in shock as he observed it.

It wasn’t because this was the first time he had seen it, but it was the first time he had seen it after his enlightenment in the Martial Hall Pagoda.

Perhaps it was because he didn’t have a sufficient level of understanding to sense what it was before, but after his enlightenment and his studying in the Martial Arts Library, he was sure this was a Domain.

’In the Heavenly Realm, Father-in-law said one could open a separate space. Is that related to a Domain?’
