The Growth of a Titan -
Chapter 373- The City Of The Dead
Chapter 373: Chapter 373- The City Of The Dead
Sol wanted to ponder on this more, but he immediately stopped this train of thought. He had just developed his Domain, yet he wanted to think about the Heavenly Realm?
The time he took to go from the Mortal Realm to the Spiritual Realm was four years. If his fleshly body training wasn’t counted it would have been around two or three years.
But from his estimations, he might take double that to go from the Earth Expanse Realm to the Sky Expanse Realm if he cultivated normally.
And this was terrifyingly fast because of his unique Innate Dharma and him having all of his acupoints opened. If not, it might take several decades. Even for normal cultivators, it could perhaps take over a century.
Sol glanced away from Abdu and turned to the Aether Stones.
’Now that I look at them, the amount isn’t that amazing.’
Sol didn’t say this because the Aether Stones were a small sum. This amount was the wealth of one or two second-rate Sect and could cultivate a few Spiritual Realm cultivators.
However, he realized that the higher his Innate Dharma evolved the more Wood Aether Energy it needed. And since these Ather Stones contained non-attribute Aether Energy, Sol would rather purchase some resources containing pure Wood Ather Energy.
And that was where this amount might not be enough.
’The Tournament rewards is one option, but a better one is Pearl City.’
As Sol was thinking about his future cultivation, he suddenly heard loud a bang.
He came out of the space of his formation and turned to the room door to hear a cry from the other side.
"Awoo! Awoo!"
Sol’s eyes lit up and he jumped out of his chair.
Bang!
At that moment, a green blur burst through the door and shot towards him.
"Little Zeel!"
Sol yelled excitedly as he opened his arms and caught the green blur.
"Awo-Big Brother!"
Little Zeel was going to continue his act but recalled that Sol already knew he could speak.
"Ah, I missed you so much, Little Zeel. I’m sorry I didn’t return sooner."
Sol lifted Little Zeel and started kissing his face all over, and he didn’t stop, it was as if he wanted to kiss away the sadness Little Zeel might have felt while waiting for him.
"Haha, stop, stop. You’re kissing me too much!"
Only after a few more kisses did Sol finally stop.
Smiling, he asked.
"Are you alright?"
Little Zeel nodded happily, but as if remembering something his facial expression changed.
Seeing this, Sol got worried.
"What’s wro-"
However, before Sol could ask what was wrong, a voice was heard outside.
"Brother Sol? Are you home?"
Little Zeel’s face scrunched up into an angry and helpless look. Then he looked at Sol and said worriedly.
"Big Brother, I didn’t bring him here, he followed me even though I told him not to."
Sol’s expression turned serious, but he held Little Zeel in his arms and patted his head gently as he said.
"It’s okay, I’m not mad at you."
Sol knew who was outside. Sure enough, when Sol went to the window and looked out, he saw a golden-haired youth standing in front of his small gate.
Seeing Sol by the window, he smiled and waved.
"Cian?"
Sol asked, and Cian nodded slowly before asking.
"I hope Brother Sol will be able to give me a bit of your time."
Sol’s eyebrows lifted in suspicion, but he still nodded.
"Sure."
He then turned and headed to the front door to welcome their guest.
However, upon walking to the door, a nervous Little Zeel blurted out.
"I accidentally told him that we’re from the Ibbian Mountain Range."
Sol froze when he heard that.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. But he said he won’t tell anyone, and that... that he wanted to apologize to you."
Sol remained silent for a moment before gently rubbing Little Zeel’s fur in a comforting manner.
"If he wants to apologize then let’s hear him out."
Sol said as he stepped towards the front door. However, just as his hand landed on the handle, a piercing cry of agony echoed out from the other side.
"AHHH!!!"
Sol was shocked but confused. He quickly swung the door open and stepped outside to see what was happening.
At the gate, Cian was on his knees grabbing his head.
Sol became even more confused, and he approached Cian.
"Hey, what happened to you all of a sudden?"
"Ugh... Arg..."
Sol only got groans of pain in response, however, as he came closer to Cian, about three meters away, his groans stopped.
All of a sudden, Sol felt all the hair on the back of his neck stand on end and a sense of deadly crisis sprung up in his heart.
The feeling was so sudden it caught him off guard and made him stop in place.
Little Zeel didn’t seem to sense the feeling, as he was about to jump out of his arms towards Cian over the gate to check up on him.
But Sol immediately grabbed him and retreated six more meters. Now they were ten meters away from Cian, however, Sol still felt the sense of danger.
No, it was getting even stronger than before.
Suddenly, the motionless Cian on the ground slowly got up.
Every muscle in Sol’s body tensed up as if he were facing a deadly threat.
After Cian rose, his eyes landed on Sol and Little Zeel.
Immediately, Sol noticed his eyes had turned completely white. His face had also turned expressionless, it was as if he lacked any emotion.
Finally, Little Zeel felt the dangerous feeling coming from Cian and his body started to tremble uncontrollably.
It felt like he wasn’t being looked at by a human, but an existence that was the bane of all living beings.
Both Sol and Little Zeel felt their souls tremble under his gaze.
It seemed to Cian he was looking at mere insects. He opened his mouth a whispered.
"Domain Expansion, Necropolis."
Bang!
Sol’s feet cracked the ground as he leaped over the house in retreat. After landing on the other side, he turned and bent his legs to dash off.
However, Cian left his hand and casually waved it towards Sol.
With that wave, a terrifying force that could crush a mountain obliterated the wooden house and reached Sol in an instant. It wrapped around him and then flung him away.
Sol held Little Zeel closely as the force sent them flying. With several bangs, he crashed onto the ground like a stone skipping on the surface of a lake.
After three hundred meters, Sol finally slowed down.
He was relatively fine as he was quick to cover his body with his Fist Intent, just that his organs were rattled.
Without hesitation, Sol shifted his body to land on his feet at the end of his momentum.
However, his expression changed when he looked around him.
The forest was gone and was replaced by a gray barren land, that was giving off the feeling of death.
In the sky, the sun had turned gray, and it cast a monochromatic light over this barren land, causing the surroundings to feel extremely desolate.
This was a Domain; Sol could feel it.
However, this level of Domain was on a completely different level than what Althorne had shown. It was like he was transported into another world entirely.
To the side, Sol could barely make out what looked to be a wall. Perhaps a city wall?
But a city being in a place like this? Perhaps it was the City of the Dead.
Sol’s gaze soon landed on his destroyed house; the only thing that was carried into this place from the outside world. He saw Cian slowly rise from the ground to float above it.
His appearance had changed. He had become taller and lankier.
His skin had turned a ghastly gray color while his hair had become white. Sticking out from his now white hair was also a pair of long ears.
His long fingers had claws that seemed like they could tear apart steel.
As Cian slowly floated over to Sol, his clothes changed, becoming a tattered black robe that seemed like it had existed for more than a millennium.
However, what was interesting about this robe was that the ends looked like black flames, which danced in the wind. If one looked at it for too long, they might feel a frigid coldness down to their very souls.
Sol couldn’t help but narrow his eyes at the familiarity of Cian’s transformations.
