Chapter 371: Chapter 371- A Small House In The Forest

Yoon-Jae glanced up at Ushi and saw that his dark eyes held a hint of nervousness as he stared at him.

Yoon-Jae smiled internally.

"Two points for not listening to me."

Yoon-Jae said coolly before he went back to reading his book.

Ushi’s froze, but he didn’t make a move to leave.

However, even though he didn’t move, Yoon-Jae paid no more attention to him or deduct any more points.

Ushi sighed in relief when he saw this as he had done this so he could better understand how this point system worked.

Yoon-Jae would only deduct points a single time if he didn’t like something he did like.

This might sound great, but Ushi knew he had to be careful since he might do something Yoon-Jae didn’t like and get all his points deducted. He would cry tears of blood if that happened.

Without a word, Ushi stood there while Yoon-Jae read his book.

Yoon-Jae soon made a move to turn the page of the book, however, Ushi suddenly leaned forward and turned the page for him. He did it fast, but not too fast that the sound of the page-turning could be heard.

Yoon-Jae didn’t react to this or look up from his book, but he still said.

"Two points added."

Ushi was ecstatic when he heard that, and anticipation started to blossom in his heart at the thought of reaching a hundred points.

As time slowly went by, Ushi would know when to flip the page without Yoon-Jae having to say anything. All he had to do was follow Yoon-Jae’s eyes.

Even after the one-hour mark, Ushi didn’t seem to be the least bit tired or unwilling to do this. In fact, he seemed excited and pumped as time went by.

As Ushi observed Yoon-Jae to know when he needed to skip the page, he couldn’t help but take some liberty to observe Yoon-Jae’s face from this distance.

From now on, he was the only one who would be able to see his face from this up close.

Suddenly, a few strands of hair tucked behind Yoon-Jae’s ear managed to fall in front of his face.

Yoon-Jae didn’t make a move to shift them, and upon seeing that Ushi went to move them himself. But just as he was about to raise his hand, he paused.

’Does he want me to move them, or does he not care if they’re there? They’re not really blocking his view of the book.’

However, Ushi only hesitated for a split second. He reached out and used his index finger to gently place back the few strands of hair into the bundle behind Yoon-Jae’s ear.

Ushi’s finger touched Yoon-Jae’s ear as he did this, but he allowed it to linger there for a moment before he quickly retrieved it.

Yoon-Jae glanced up at him, and Ushi immediately became nervous.

However, Yoon-Jae only glanced at him briefly before going back to reading.

Ushi sighed in relief when he saw that no points were deducted. However, Yoon-Jae suddenly spoke softly.

"Three points added."

When Ushi heard that, it felt like a bomb had gone off in his head. His body stiffened as if a bolt of lightning had crash down on him from the dome of heaven and he stared at Yoon-Jae with a dazed look on his face.

Recalling what was needed for points to be added, his face flushed, and his heart started to pound wildly in his chest.

However, Ushi wasn’t able to linger on that as Yoon-Jae had finished the page.

Without any hesitation, Ushi leaned forward and flipped the page of the in one fluid motion. His actions had reached perfection at this point as Yoon-Jae didn’t even pause his reading.

Yoon-Jae was so pleased with that that he added a single point.

Ushi celebrated internally, but soon then went back to standing there in silence with his gaze fixated on the strands of hair tucked behind Yoon-Jae’s ear.

However, no matter how hard he looked and wished, they remained fixed there as if they were being held in place by some force.

It was Ather Energy.

Ushi was dejected upon seeing this, but he soon went back to focusing on observing Yoon-Jae.

Meanwhile, as this training was going on, Sol had finally left the Martial Arts Library after two hours of nonstop studying.

He bid Woo-Seong later as he took a teleportation platform to the Alchemy Pavilion.

While walking through the Outer and Inner Mountains, Sol saw the Alchemy Disciples with dark circles under their eyes and thought to himself that he had missed a lot of monthly exams.

However, it couldn’t be helped as he was in seclusion.

In the Inner Mountain, he headed for his courtyard while wondering if Little Zeel was there.

The sounds of disciples faded away as Sol moved towards a rather secluded section of the Inner Mountain.

The forest on the mountain had been cleared to accommodate the construction of the Alchemy Pavilion, but on the path leading to Sol’s courtyard, there were plenty of luscious forest trees.

Not long after, Sol came upon his ’courtyard.’

It was reminiscent of the small house with a waist-high gate surrounding it that he had once lived in with his father. It was also similar to the house he lived in when he was training with his Master.

Sol built this courtyard himself from the surrounding forest trees. He still had the courtyard Yoon-Jae had chosen for him when he first entered the Academy, but he found it uncomfortable staying in that large and well-furnished courtyard for extended periods.

"Little Zeel!"

Sol called out as he opened the small get and stepped into the yard. He then walked towards the door of the small wooden house and pushed it open.

The door surprisingly didn’t make a sound, a testament that despite looking plain and simple, it was extremely well built.

A simple dining room greeted Sol as he entered, with a side door leading into his bedroom.

There was a window on the other side of the room that had its curtains drawn. The curtains themselves were made from expensive-looking materials, a stark contrast to the plain house it was being hung in.

Similarly, a two-meter-long table and a pair of chairs were in the middle of the room that looked out of place. With the excellent craftsmanship and carving on them, they looked like colorful peacocks that were surrounded by common fouls.

"Little Zeel?"

Sol called once more as he closed the door. He made his way to the door leading to his bedroom and entered.

Inside was a luxurious bed with silk sheets covering it that took up nearly half the room. Aside from that, only a plain wooden chair was inside the room. It was situated under the two-meter-wide window that gave a clear view of the side of the house.

From here, one could see the road leading through the forest up to the small gate at the front of the house.

Sol looked around and noted that there was no dust in sight. The sheets of the bed were also neatly made.

Closing the door, Sol made his way over to the chair and sat down. His gaze then drifted to the road leading up to the front gate.

"He’s probably off playing right now."

Sol recalled what Mar-Dule said about Little Zeel interacting with someone from the Ga-On church.

He frowned in worry but soon consoled himself by remembering that his uncle-Master would intervene if that person had bad intentions.

"I’ll wait for him; he probably knows I’m here already."

Sol didn’t know what it was, but he and Little Zeel had a bond. It wasn’t a bond between a tamed beast and a master, but it could still vaguely allow Sol to understand Little Zeel’s emotions and sense his presence at a certain distance away.

It was the same thing for Little Zeel.

Even now, Sol felt that the distance between him and Little Zeel was getting closer. Meaning he was on his way.

Sol smiled and leaned back in his chair.

But now that he had the time to relax somewhat, he decided it was about time he did something he had been meaning to do.

Flipping over his palm, Sol took out a purple jade slip.

It was the communication jade slip his Master had given him.

Sol had been hesitating on whether to contact him until now, but he had too many questions he needed answering to worry about bothering him.

With that, Sol sent his Aether Energy inside. A faint glow surrounded the jade slip as it slowly activated. Then, after a few breaths worth of time, a connection was formed before a familiar gruff voice was heard yelling.

"Damn brat, why are you contacting me so many times?!"

The jade slip worked by sending the voice directly into his mind, so the lion-like roar went straight into Sol’s mind and made his head buzz insistently.
