The Growth of a Titan
Chapter 361- Can I Give Your Challenge A Try, Elder Brother Sol?

Chapter 361: Chapter 361- Can I Give Your Challenge A Try, Elder Brother Sol?

While the disciples below were confused about what was happening. Altair turned to Sol and said with a smile.

"Brother Sol, you’re really strong, this is our loss."

The excited light in Sol’s eyes had long been replaced by disappointment. He suddenly thought about jeering at them to provoke them into a fight, but that would really be too shameless on his part.

"Well, fine. But next time I won’t let you go so easily."

They were speaking the Western Continent’s language. Hearing Sol’s response, Quilt was annoyed.

"What? You think being able to see through our moves makes you invincible?"

Sol smiled.

"Why don’t you try taking one of my palm strikes? If you can resist it, I’ll give you fifty million mid-grade Aether Stones."

Hearing that, Quilt was at first dumbfounded, but he soon glared at Sol.

"You really think you’re invincible, don’t you?"

Quilt took a step forward with his hand landing on the hilt of his sword. His aura suddenly changed and the black armor he was wearing shimmered with a sinister dark glow.

Sol’s eyes flickered and he realized the aura was similar to the tattoo covering Altair’s body.

Altair frowned and put out his hand to stop Quilt.

"Idiot, it doesn’t matter to him if you can withstand his palm strike or not, he’s just trying to draw you out with that ridiculous sum of money."

"You think I don’t know that?"

Quilt said through gritted teeth.

However, he eventually released the grip on his sword, and while glaring at Sol, he said.

"I’ll let you regret today in the future."

After saying that, Quilt’s armor glowed dimly before he rose into the air.

Altair turned to Sol and smiled. He then waved his hand and four magic circles the size of a palm appeared in front of him.

These four magic circles looked like weaker miniature versions of the four 4th-class spells from before.

After the four magic circles appeared, they swirled around each other before merging.

After forming a single magic circle, purple lightning crackled across its surface, while the earth element, the fire element, and the ice element emanated from it.

Then slowly, the ice element converged in the center of the magic circle to create a palm-sized icicle that trapped the other elements inside.

It took a while to explain, however, the process was extremely fast. After the icicle formed, it turned in the air to point at Sol before shooting towards him.

In the blink of an eye, the icicle appeared in front of Sol’s chest, but before it could stab into him, he easily caught it. He then looked down at this icicle that had the purple lightning, the earth element, and the fire element swirling within it.

Altair was still smiling as he watched Sol observe the icicle. After a moment he asked.

"With those eyes of yours, did you see how I merged those 3rd Class spells together?"

Sol looked up at Altair, eyes flickering.

"No, I didn’t."

Sol said shaking his head.

Altair’s smile seemed to grow wider as he said.

"I see, so that’s the extent of your abnormal comprehension skills."

Glancing at Sol one final time, Altair added.

"Brother Sol, you’re not the only genius here, be careful of being overconfident in your abilities."

Altair then rose into the air with a chantless spell before moving to catch up with Quilt. The tattoo of a ghoul covering half his face faded away.

Sol watched the two leave, a thoughtful look in his eyes. After a moment, he looked back down at the icicle.

"Interesting. He doesn’t want to reveal his skills for some reason, but it seems like he still has the pride of a genius to show me this."

Sol then chuckled to himself.

"However, this much is still not enough to pressure me. I need a stronger grindstone."

Sol’s hand holding the crystal-like icicle glowed with a golden light before he squeezed. The icicle shattered along with the spells inside.

Altair, who had caught up to Quilt, paused before looking over his shoulder.

"What’s with that bastard? He’s too freakish."

Altair turned to look at Quilt flying next to him and sighed.

"I thought we could grab some free Aether Stones but by the crowd’s reaction when he introduced himself, I should have known that he wasn’t so simple. Judging by the skills he showed, he should be one of the strongest disciples on the Eastern Continent."

Quilt frowned in annoyance.

"What skills? He barely showed anything."

Altair shook his head.

"We know that he cultivates his Fleshly Body as well as Runes, and he’s reached a high level in both. As for his Martial Arts, if I’m not wrong, he has gained enlightenment for some kind of power relating to his palms or fists. It’s similar to that Sword Intent thing those Sword Cultivators have. It should be called Fist or Palm Intent. He seems to have reached a high level of comprehension in that as well since he can resist your attack despite suppressing his cultivation."

Quilt snorted.

"I only used a fraction of my power, if I wanted to, I could have forced that bastard back."

"But that would mean revealing more of your abilities for him to see through. Looks like I chose wrong. This one is on me."

Quilt snorted once again.

"If you hadn’t failed so pathetically after scheming against him, then we could have walked away with five million mid-grade Aether Stones! What’s the use of taking you as my bodyguard and servant if you’re so damn useless?!"

Altair was immediately annoyed.

"Bastard, you think you can beat me in a fight? You’re nothing more than a brainless weakling who only knows how to hide behind a girl!"

Quilt’s eyes blazed with rage as he threatened.

"Seems like I need to contact Princess Rina and tell her about that time you snuck into her chambers on one of your visits to the Beorhtric Family."

"You-!!"

Altair’s eyes went wide with anger at the blatant slander. He had never done such a thing!

Altair still couldn’t believe such a person existed that could be this shameless, relying on a girl to fight his battles. However, he could only swallow his anger since this wasn’t the first time Quilt had done this.

As of now, his reputation among the Royal Families was that of a no-good pervert who ran around throwing himself on any woman he could find.

All of that was because of this bastard slandering him.

The reason why Quilt did that was so he could blackmail him to do his bidding.

Altair had thought about killing him; however, Quilt, despite being from a lowly vassal Family, was an extremely gifted Magic Knight and was someone the Beorhtric Family valued. So much so they had proposed the idea of him marrying Princess Rina, the number one genius among the Royal Families and the daughter of the Beorhtric Family’s Patriarch.

Because of that, the bastard’s positioned had instantly reached the heavens in a single bound, so Altair couldn’t off him or else he would antagonize the Beorhtric Family.

However, Altair was considered second only to Princess Rina in terms of talent, so how could he just let himself be blackmailed so easily?

Altair was not only talented but was extremely cunning. It wasn’t hard to play around with Quilt who only had muscles for brains. Each time Quilt blackmailed him, he would make sure he got something out of it.

That was how this strange relationship between them had formed.

They weren’t friends, but at the same time neither were they sworn enemies.

They were both just using each other for their own benefit.

And just moments ago was one of the many times the two of them had worked together to get some benefits. But turns out they had run headfirst into a trap devised by a freak who was even more cunning than them.

On the stage, after crushing the icicle, Sol glanced at Altair and Quilt flying to the upper arenas one final time before looking at the crowd of disciples that had grown larger than before.

He decided it was about time he ended this.

However, just as Sol was about to pull his buried feet out of the stage, a soft voice echoed out.

"Can I give your challenge a try, Elder Brother Sol?"
