Chapter 362- Domain Expansion
Chapter 362: Chapter 362- Domain Expansion
Mar-Dule’s back stiffened when he heard the voice. His eyes had also narrowed into slits as he coldly watched the person that had just appeared floating above the stage.
It was a youth wearing golden church robes.
From his height, which was just around four feet, along with his child-like appearance, one would think he was nine or ten.
However, the fluctuations that radiated from him definitely surpassed the Mortal Realm.
"Who’s that kid?"
Yoon-Jae was rather dumbfounded to see a kid here, but more so his cultivation base.
"That’s Althorne."
Mar-Dule said, his eyes still coldly looking at Althorne.
"Hah? That’s the brat who you were so worried about?"
Yoon-Jae turned to look at Mar-Dule in disbelief. However, Mar-Dule shook his head and said seriously.
"Don’t underestimate him because of his looks. He might look young, but that’s because of his race. He’s around the same age as us."
"Oh, so he isn’t human?"
Mar-Dule shook his head.
Down below, the disciples in the crowd who weren’t familiar with Althorne were at first dumbfounded, thinking that a kid had somehow defied the heavens and become a Spiritual Realm cultivator at such a young age.
However, once they knew who this person was, they calmed down quite a bit. He was the person in second place on the Heaven Arena Rankings, Althorne.
Sol similarly was wide-eyed as he looked at Althorne, however, the thought that a child could achieve such a cultivation base was secondary. Something else had shocked him.
"Elder Brother Sol, let me introduce myself. My name is Althorne, I am the main representative of the Ga-Mon Church, one of the Seven Great Churches."
"Althorne?"
Sol snapped out of his shock and glanced towards Mar-Dule. He saw that he was coldly looking at Althorne and that confirmed his speculation.
Sol turned back to Althorne and asked curiously.
"How old are you?"
Althorne smiled amicably and coupled with his shoulder-length light brown hair and gray pupils, he looked extremely innocent... adorable even.
"Elder Brother Sol, despite my appearance I am sixteen years old."
Sol frowned at that.
"Then why are you calling me Elder Brother? And how come you’re so short?"
Althorne’s face unnoticeably twitched at the mention of his height, however, the amicable smile never left his face as he responded politely.
"Elder Brother Sol, I’m really not that short, in fact, I’m considered tall among the Dwarven Race."
"Hm, so you’re from the Dwarven Race? Interesting, so the members of your race are as short as you?"
Althorne’s face twitched once again before he said, still smiling.
"Elder Brother Sol has heard of the history of my race from Elder Brother Altair."
Altair, who had stopped with Quilt when Althorne appeared, snorted when he heard his name being mentioned from this bastard’s mouth.
Althorne continued.
"I am half a descendant of the Dwarven people who had made it to the Church’s territory from the Beorhtric Family’s tyranny all those years ago. My mother is from the Church while my father is from the Dwarven Race."
Althorne was still smiling as he spoke, but as he said that something about his facial expression expressed sadness that one could easily pick up on.
It was obvious that he had recalled some bad memories.
However, Mar-Dule was heard snorting in annoyance over on the balcony. But it was drowned out by the disciples below voicing their opinions of Althorne. A majority of them were positive.
Yoon-Jae frowned as he looked down at the disciples. He then said to Mar-Dule.
"I can see what you mean, he’s definitely trouble."
On the stage, Sol observed Althorne for a bit before he smiled and said with a chuckle.
"Haha, you’re kind of adorable. How about you let me pat your head for a little bit?"
Althorne looked taken aback by Sol’s words, but after realizing that he was serious, he smiled and said.
"If Big Brother Sol can resist one of my palm strikes without moving from your position, then I’ll allow Big Brother Sol to pat my head."
Althorne’s address for Sol had suddenly switched. However, that wasn’t the only thing that switched. With his one sentence, Althorne had made Sol the one challenging him. And from his position floating above the stage while looking down at Sol, he looked unfathomable.
The disciples couldn’t help but feel awe at Althorne’s presence. He was domineering but at the same time, it was a kind of domineering attitude that would make one feel it was natural for him to be as such.
As the disciples below were discussing Althorne, who had now become the center of attention, Sol chuckled and said.
"Sure, and of course I will also give you the five million mid-grade Aether Stones if I lose."
"Hm."
Althorne nodded.
However, he suddenly wore a hesitant expression as he said.
"Perhaps Big Brother Sol shouldn’t suppress your cultivation anymore. It would be unfortunate if I accidentally injure you."
A worried expression appeared on Althorne’s face, and he looked extremely genuine. So much so Sol couldn’t tell if he was faking it or not.
Sol’s eyes narrowed. Up until now, he couldn’t see through this person at all, and that surprised him.
But this just made him more suspicious of his motives.
’I understand what Mar-Dule means now. With someone like him, you never know when his mask will slip and he stabs you from the shadows. This feeling is quite unnerving.’
After thinking this, Sol kept his smile as he shook his head.
"I’ll keep my cultivation base suppressed, go ahead and make your move."
Althorne hesitated but still nodded his head before worriedly cautioning.
"Then be careful Big Brother Sol."
After saying that, Althorne extended his small hand.
"Domain Expansion."
A mysterious power suddenly erupted from his body and swept out to engulf the stage in an instant.
BANG!!!
The ground beneath Sol’s feet suddenly cracked and fissures snaked out several dozen meters from his position.
Sol frowned, it felt like a mountain had just been dropped onto his shoulders.
"Wha-What just happened? Senior Brother Althorne merely extended his hand and Senior Brother Sol was suppressed. How terrifying."
The disciples below were both confused and shocked at what had just occurred.
Glancing around Sol’s eyes narrowed.
’This restriction is similar to my Heavenly Domain Fist. It feels as if the entire stage has transformed into a separate space.’
Within this separate space was an intense pressure that caused Sol’s bones to creak as if they were about to shatter. This suppression was far greater than Altair’s four 4th Class spells.
Sol’s Aether Energy wasn’t just slowed down, it had come to a complete stop. Even his blood had slowed to a crawl, his heart desperately tried to pump blood through his body while Sol felt it was hard to breathe.
He couldn’t even move a finger.
None of this could be felt by the disciples down below, it was all contained on the stage.
"What is that?"
Yoon-Jae asked with a frown as he looked at the situation on the stage.
"It’s a Domain."
Some distance away, Altair and Quilt had frowns on their faces as they watched Althorne release his Domain. They had seen it before, but each time they did they couldn’t help but feel gloomy.
"How did that bastard manage to manifest a Domain?"
Quilt said jealously, but Altair suddenly responded dismissively.
"It’s barely formed, it’s not as impressive as mine."
Quilt couldn’t help but turn his jealous glare from Althorne towards Altair when he heard that.
"Just wait until I find Princess Rina’s location. I’ll tell her of all the shameless things you’ve been up to since we got here."
Hearing that, Altair’s expression became even gloomier, but he chose to keep quiet so as to not antagonize this bastard.
When Yoon-Jea heard the mention of a Domain, his expression became confused.
"A Domain? What is that?"
"I thought it was a Technique unique to the Church, but after asking Father about it, he told me that it might be similar to an ability that a Sword Cultivator could gain after they’ve reached the Perfection Realm of their Sword Intent, a Sword Domain."
Yoon-Jae’s frown deepened.
"If it’s anything like what a Sword Domain is capable of, how were you able to defeat him?"
Mar-Dule shook his head.
"I didn’t, our match was considered a draw. As for how I resisted his Domain, I had to reveal my Sky Expanse Realm cultivation base to forcefully negate its effects."
Back on the stage, Althorne still had his hand outstretched with his palm facing down. As of this moment, despite his small frame, he resembled a God who was using a single palm to suppress a demon who had invaded his domain.
Althorne then said softly.
"Brother Sol, here I come."
Even though it was just a whisper, this entire stage had become his domain, as such his voice resounded out and slammed into Sol’s ears, causing it to ring ceaselessly.
As Althorne pressed his palm down, half the suppressive force in the surroundings converged on his palm. The pressure on Sol’s shoulders lessened as a result.
However, the suppressive force that converged on Althorne’s hand transformed into an invisible heavenly palm that crashed towards Sol’s head.
Althorne was using half the strength of his Domain, but this one palm attack was equivalent to two of Altair’s 4th Class spells.
That was still terrifying as cultivators at the peak of the Earth Expanse Realm would be crushed by this attack.
Sol had no way to resolve this attack like he did with Altair’s spells, he had to face this head-on.
However, instead of feeling fear under this palm, Sol was quite calm. Actually, he wasn’t even looking at the terrifying palm that was approaching him, he was instead looking around the stage.
’How is he doing this? What kind of ability is this? How can I... copy it?’
Sol’s eyes flashed. Something was stirring in his mind, a revelation of some sort.
Sol finally looked up at the palm that was moments away from slamming down on him. His eyes flickered non-stop as he replayed the moment Althorne activated this Domain in his mind.
Suddenly, Sol started breathing erratically.
’Why... Why didn’t I think of this previously? He’s using Willpower!’
Sol was so excited at this discovery it felt like his heart was about to burst out of his chest.
