Chapter 355: Chapter 355- An Arrogant Live-in Son-in-Law

The disciple in the air looked at Sol’s bracelets before shaking his head and saying.

"Junior Brother, I only heard the commotion over here and came over to watch."

Sol nodded in understanding before lowering his gaze to the crowd of disciples. Whether that disciple had looked at his bracelets because he knew their ability to increase their weight or because he recognized him, Sol didn’t know.

All the disciples around the stage sighed in disappointment that they weren’t going to see a clash between two Spiritual Realm disciples.

The cost to go to the other floors was really too expensive, and for disciples like them, they would need to save up several months’ worth of allowance and mission rewards to afford the amount.

However, maybe they were sighing too early.

"Does anyone else want to accept my challenge?"

"We’ll play with you."

A voice was suddenly heard before two streaks of light shot from beyond the formation separating the Mortal Areana and Earth Areana to appear above the stage.

As the two figures floated down to the stage, the formation rippled intensely and the disciples on the other side of the Martial Hall Pagoda who weren’t aware of what was going on looked over at the stage.

Sol glanced at these two that touched down on the stage.

He could tell from the fluctuations rolling off of them that their true strength surpassed the Mortal Realm.

This was quite eye-catching since both youths looked around the same age as Sol. Meaning they were geniuses from the... Sol judged them to be from the Royal Families.

One of them was clad in black armor with a sword strapped to his waist. He had his arms folded in front of him as he glanced over at Sol with an indifferent expression on his face.

It was a simple glance, but his gaze was intense and would make one feel pressured. But Sol simply glanced away from him to look at the other youth.

The person next to him was a bit strange.

Unlike the previous person who had black hair and a normal appearance, this person had silver hair and a pair of emerald-green eyes.

Coupled this with his pale skin and handsome face, he looked like a prince from a noble Family.

However, that wasn’t what Sol found strange. It was the youth’s pointy ears that stuck out from his flowing silver hair at the sides of his head.

It seemed like he wasn’t human but of another race.

Sol wasn’t the only one who was drawn to this person’s appearance, all the disciples surrounding the stage were looking at this youth in curiosity.

The silver-haired youth seemed used to people staring at him as he calmly cupped his fist and said.

"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Altair, the Crown Prince of the Lancaster Royal Family and the Elvian Race."

Immediately, everyone noticed that Altair’s grasp of Jianghu’s language was perfect. He even sounded like a native.

After the youth named Altair introduced himself, the youth in black armor remained completely silent, arms still folded.

Seeing this, everyone looked at him with frowning expressions. Perhaps he thought it a waste of time to introduce himself?

However, the black armored youth suddenly frowned before turning to glare at Altair.

After being glared at by the armored youth, Altair suddenly smacked his forehead and said.

"Oh right, this idiot’s name is Quilt, he’s from a lowly Family that is subservient to the Beorhtric Family. I call him an idiot because he didn’t even bother learning your language after coming here, and he doesn’t even want to borrow a multilingual device created by those from the Church."

Altair sighed before he added.

"Don’t let his cold expression fool you, he’s only putting on an act because he’s here. If he wasn’t in front of all of you then he would be crying his eyes out. In truth, his identity in the Beorhtric Family is extremely pitiful. His family waged a rebellion in the past and after they were defeated, the eldest sons of the future Family Heads were forever condemned to marry out to another family. His fate is equivalent to your guy’s term, a live-in son-in-law."

Altair then shook his head as if he deeply pitied this youth named Quilt. However, everyone was taken aback by his words.

Turning to look at this Quilt fellow, some of the disciples gave him pitting looks.

When Quilt saw the look these disciples were giving, he frowned and turned to glare at Altair once again.

"Bastard, what did you say?"

The disciples in the surroundings weren’t able to understand him, but Sol was able to.

Altair put on an indignant expression before saying.

"Young Master, why are you assuming I said anything bad about you? Would I even dare to? All I did was introduce you and your status in the Beorhtric Family."

"Really? Then why are these people giving me looks of pity?"

"What? Those aren’t looks of pity, what I see are looks of jealousy, look closer Young Master."

Quilt paused and looked around unsure.

Altair spoke up once more.

"Young Master Quilt, I assure you that I didn’t spread any negative information about you. If I did then let my mana dissipate and my handsome appearance become that of a toad!"

Altair put his hand on his chest and lifted the other as he swore; a solemn expression was plastered across his face.

"Haha..."

Sol couldn’t help but let out a chuckle after listening to these two conversations.

It was obvious this Altair youth was screwing over his companion by spreading false rumors about him. From the looks of it, this wasn’t the first time a situation like this had happened.

Sol could only picture how this Quilt youth would react after he found out how his reputation was dragged through the mud.

When Altair and Quilt heard Sol laugh while looking at them, Altair blinked while Quilt’s eyes flickered.

"Can you understand us?"

Quilt asked.

Sol smiled and nodded.

"Great! Then tell me what his bastard just said."

Quilt seemed excited after finally finding someone to correctly translate what this bastard was saying when introducing him. He didn’t trust anyone he asked before because that bastard Altair was always there.

He wasn’t a fool; he knew that Altair was saying something bad about him he just needed to know what he said specifically before he beat the shit out of him.

Meanwhile, Altair had a look of terror flash past his eyes. However, he managed to compose himself and turned to look at Sol with a relaxed smile.

But Sol could clearly see the begging look in his eyes. Sol laughed internally before turning to Quilt and explaining.

"He introduced your name, and your position as a live-in son-in-law."

Quilt showed a confused expression when he heard that.

"Live-in son-in-law? What does that mean?"

Altair quickly stepped in to explain.

"It means being married into a prestigious family and becoming a son-in-law. Young Master, as the future son-in-law that’s going to marry Princess Rina of the Beorhtric Family, you’ll get looks of jealousy wherever you go!"

Quilt looked at Sol, and Sol nodded to confirm the explanation was right.

Sol didn’t lie, Altair’s definition was correct. However, it seemed this situation had a different perspective for both regions.

For those in Jianghu, it was really shameful for a husband to be the one marrying into the wife’s family and become a live-in son-in-law. However, it seems in the Royal Family it was seen as an honor. Or at least this Quilt youth saw it that way.

After seeing Sol nod, Quilt was satisfied, and he went back to folding his arms while displaying an indifferent demeanor. He even glanced at the crowd with a bit of arrogance flickering in his eyes.

"Well, would you look at this bastard being so arrogant when he’s just a live-in son-in-law, damn bastard."

"Yeah, and I was just feeling sorry for him too."

"He has a really punchable face, doesn’t he?"

The disciples below started cursing at Quilt for looking at them so arrogantly.

Quilt paused slightly before leaning over to Altair and asking.

"What are they saying now?"

Altair immediately responded with a fawning expression on his face.

"Young Master, they’re just voicing their jealousy towards you."

When Quilt heard that, he sort of believed it given the angry expressions on the disciples’ faces. With that, the arrogant look in his eyes became even more prominent. He even tilted his head up a bit to look down at the disciples.

This pissed off the disciples below the stage even more.

Meanwhile, Altair was secretly wiping the cold sweat from his brows. He turned to flash Sol a thankful smile, but all Sol did was tell the truth. He didn’t really try to help him.

"What’s the Elvian Race? Is it a type of Demonic Beast Race where you can take human form?"

The thankful smile on Altair’s face suddenly disappeared and was replaced by a dark expression.
