The Growth of a Titan
Chapter 303- Bang!

Chapter 303: Chapter 303- Bang!

Sol almost hacked up a lung from coughing after breathing in so much dust all at once.

Abdu wiggled his paw, and his Soul Energy swept out to shove the dust outside the cave.

Sol shook his head to get the dust out of his hair while brushing off his bare chest. Thankfully, he hadn’t cut his hair yet, so his bangs blocked his eyes from the dust.

After placing down the cauldron cover on the ground with a bang, Sol positioned the edge of his index finger between his teeth and bit down forcefully.

Despite Sol’s physique, his teeth and bite force were not to be underestimated. If he wanted to Sol could probably bite through several steel swords in one go.

After licking the bit of blood that got onto his lips, Sol held his finger over the cauldron and allowed a few drops to fall just in case one wasn’t enough. He also made sure to infuse his Willpower into these drops of blood.

After the drops of blood fell into the cauldron, Sol watched as they were absorbed into it. Immediately after, the auspicious beasts lit up with a golden color while spiraling runic symbols covered its surface.

Sol suddenly felt a mental link slowly forming between his mind and these runes. A set of hand seals also appeared in his head.

The dust that was inside the cauldron seemed to disintegrate as these runes appeared.

Seeing that it was a success, Sol grinned from ear to ear.

"Alright, let’s start!"

Without wasting any more time, Sol formed a hand seal that had appeared in his mind. The golden runes on the cauldron turned crimson red before searing hot flames burst from them.

Sol’s pants were instantly burnt to ash, but he quickly managed to use his Fist Intent to coat his hair so it wouldn’t be burnt off.

However, unbeknownst to him, a few new strands of hair that had started to sprout from down below had been left unprotected. Thankfully, Sol wouldn’t come to know of this massive blunder, or else he would have been filled with bitterness throughout his seclusion.

As for Abdu, he released a hiss as he leaped back, narrowingly having his hair burnt off by the flames. Neither he nor Sol was prepared for the intensity of the cauldron’s flames.

Sol shot Abdu an apologetic look, but he instantly turned back to the cauldron.

The flames they were releasing were intense, but Sol could endure it with his body.

After thinking for a bit, Sol decided to just continue naked like this. There was no way he would be able to use his Fist Intent to protect his clothes for a prolonged period, so they were just going to be burnt again. He would just safeguard his hair.

However, Sol remembered something and instantly swerved around to look at the medicinal plants that he had laid out on the ground.

He sighed when he saw that they were at a safe distance.

Sol walked over to them and picked them up. He then turned to observe the cauldron and after a minute or two of the intense heat rolling from it, he formed a hand seal and pointed at it.

With his point, the flames simmered down, leaving only the runes at the bottom of it releasing flames.

Sol glanced at the bottom of the caldron and seeing that the ground was relatively fine he nodded.

Even though this cauldron had eight legs to raise it from the ground, Sol was worried the flames would affect his cave abode. But that didn’t seem to be a problem as aside from a black burn mark, the ground was fine.

Sol then walked over to the cauldron and looked inside.

The cauldron was around three meters wide, but even with the eight legs it only reached Sol’s abdomen.

Sol smiled and said.

"It looks like it’s heated sufficiently."

For normal alchemists, this cauldron might be more of a hassle to use than a benefit.

Because it was so large it would take a significant amount of flames to heat it. But even if they wanted to heat it, they couldn’t even use the runes on it to do so as they wouldn’t be able to control it.

Perhaps only a Pill Master in the Spiritual Realm who could control these runes with their Soul Energy and had a Fire Innate Dhrama to withstand the heat required to operate this cauldron, would consider using this thing.

Anyone falling short of any of these requirements wouldn’t even think about using this cauldron.

Sol might not be a Pill Master nor was he in the Spiritual Realm or had a Fire Innate Dharma, but despite all that he had a way around each of those requirements. In fact, this cauldron might as well have been made for him.

Sol suddenly tossed one of the medicinal pills inside the cauldron. As it was dissolving inside, he took out a small table and placed the other ingredients on it.

Without looking at the dissolving medicinal herb Sol knew that it had already completely dissolved.

His hand blurred as he changed the temperature of the cauldron using a few hand seals, after which he instantly picked up another ingredient and threw it inside.

Sol’s actions looked casual to others, but he was being extremely careful.

When concocting any medicinal pill, there were three things one had to take account of.

One was the temperature of the flames. Second was the order in which the ingredients were placed inside the cauldron, and lastly, the timing in which these ingredients were placed inside.

There are many more things one must take into account while refining pills after these steps, but these are the main ones in the beginning phase. And as simple as they might sound, they were the most difficult to master.

For example, let’s say the first herb Sol threw inside, which was called the Green Jade Ginseng, required the cauldron to be at ’x’ degrees. These ’x’ degrees were determined by the characteristics of the plant as well as the type of pill Sol was making.

And let’s say the second herb Sol threw inside, which was called Crimson Vitality Tree-bark, required the temperature of the cauldron to be ten degrees less than the Green Jade Ginseng to dissolve.

Remember, the temperature of the cauldron, the order of the ingredients, and the timing.

The time between adding the Green Jade Ginseng and the Crimson Vitality Tree Bark was only three seconds.

In those three seconds, one had to form the required hand seals to lower the temperature of the cauldron by ten degrees and then place the Crimson Vitality Tree Bark inside.

If the timing was off by even a fraction of a section, the pill’s quality would be greatly affected at the very least, and at worst it would result in a chaotic mixture of medicinal plants that would result in an explosion.

That was the reason why alchemists were more prone to seclusions than cultivators seeking strength, as they couldn’t have any distractions while refining pills.

Sol had already memorized the pill formula for this Aether Gathering Pill, so he knew all three steps like the back of his hand. He

had no problem getting the timing right.

However, after Sol formed hand seals to change the temperature of the cauldron and placed the fourth medicinal pill inside, his expression changed.

Bang!

A muffled explosion echoed out, and black smoke rose from the cauldron.
