The Growth of a Titan

Chapter 301: Chapter 301- Let’s Start With The Difficulty At Ten!

This Formation was no longer his Master or Su Moon’s Formation; this was Sol’s Heavenly Samsara Formation.

Along with this large Formation on his back, the red and blue runes appeared on his left and right hand.

His current progress in training these techniques had slowed down quite a bit.

The half-runic circle on the edge of the heptagon on his lower back was now complete, leaving only six more runic circles to carve until he fully mastered his Master’s side of the Runic Techniques.

His Master had told him that he should be able to crave three runes within the Mortal Realm. Each of these runes contributed to Sol’s proficiency in using his Master’s runes.

Sol remembered his Master saying that after carving the fourth rune when he reached the Spiritual Realm, he would be able to use his Soul Energy to create runes in the air rather than use hand signs. Sol would be able to use Tier 4 Runes then as well.

As for Su Moon’s portion of his Heavenly Samsara Formation, Sol had been studying it to further learn his method of overlapping and linking runes.

But as stated before, his progress has slowed down lately.

Since his Martial Arts had improved by quite a bit, his next focus during the day should have been on his Runic Techniques, but something else had gotten him too excited to focus on his runes like he did for his Martial Arts.

After spending an hour or two on his Heavenly Samsara Formation, Sol excitedly moved on to his next training session.

ALCHEMY!!

Over the past week, Sol had been catching up on his theory, but today was going to be his first attempt to concoct a medicinal pill!

Sol flipped over his hand and took out the storage bag that Yoon-Jae had gifted him.

After opening it Sol looked inside to see that it was full of medicinal pills. Most of them were the Lower Tier medicinal pills, Tier 1 to Tier 3.

"This is great! I mostly have Tier 6 and above medicinal pills and I’m far from a Pill Master to concoct a medicinal pill at the 4th Tier, much less one at the 6th Tier."

The stages of an alchemist were separated into Pill Apprentice, Pill Master, and Pill Grandmaster.

A Pill Apprentice was able to concoct Tier 1 to Tier 3 pills, while Pill Masters could concoct Tier 4 to Tier 6 pills, and Pill Grandmasters could concoct Tier 7 to Tier 9 pills.

"Hm? What’s this?"

Sol saw something strange while looking through the storage bag.

Suddenly the storage bag flashed, and a missive object landed in front of Sol with a bang; this was accompanied by the ground shaking a bit.

This massive object was a cauldron that had an ominous black color. With the numerous auspicious beasts carved onto its surface along with the two handles by the side that were in the shape of dragons, it made this cauldron give off a rather grandiose and intimidating feeling.

Its size adds to this feeling as well, being well over three meters in radius.

Sol paused and a hesitant expression appeared on his face.

"Are cauldrons supposed to be this big?"

Sol then glanced at the auspicious beasts and his eyes lit up. He immediately stood and then walked around the cauldron; his eyes completely glued to it.

After a while, Sol exclaimed.

"Whoa! These fire runes are of the eighth Tier! I’ve never seen runes carved by a Rune Grandmaster before, Master would always use the Lower-level runes when he’s around me."

Similar to the Alchemy profession, Runemasters were separated into Rune Apprentice, Rune Master, and Rune Grandmaster. The Tiers of runes they’re able to create or inscribe at each stage follows a similar principle to Alchemy.

Upon hearing Sol’s cry, Abdu opened his eyes and looked over.

"Oh? Where did you get this thing?"

Abdu got up and walked over to the cauldron.

"I got it from Mar-Yue. Little Abdu could it be that you’ve seen this cauldron before?"

Abdu sat beside the cauldron and observed it for a moment then said.

"I’ve heard of it before, but it’s likely a replica of the original. The original was said to be an Immortal Treasure that could refine Heaven and Earth if its full power was unleashed."

"Refined Heaven and Earth? What does that mean?"

While still observing the cauldron, Abdu explained.

"It means it’s able to refine an entire world, though its power was greatly exaggerated. But it was a powerful treasure nonetheless."

"What happened to the original? Do you know?"

"Hm, it was lost when the Alchemy Immortal was surrounded and killed by all the Transcendents on the Violent Continent."

"There was an Alchemy Immortal as well? That’s amazing, I wonder how great his alchemy skills were for him to be called the Alchemy Immortal, however, why was he killed?"

"Why don’t you guess?"

Abdu turned to look up at Sol.

"You want me to guess?"

Sol asked with a skeptical expression and Abdu nodded.

Sol paused, wondering how he could guess something like that.

However, to help him, Abdu gave him a hint.

"What would the Alchemy Immortal have that would warrant all of the Transcendents all over the Violet Continent surround and kill him?"

Sol’s eyes flickered and an answer formed in his mind. However, his eyes widened when this answer came to him.

"Don’t tell me the Alchemy Immortal discovered some way to allow a Transcendent to become an Immortal?"

Abdu didn’t have the facial features of a human to smile, but it vaguely looked like he was doing so.

"Correct. However, it was only a rumor."

"Wah... They surrounded and killed the Alchemy Immortal because of a rumor?"

Abdu snorted.

"They’ve killed for far less."

"But isn’t the Alchemy Immortal an Immortal? You said an Immortal was stronger than a Transcendent."

"And how many Transcendent Realm experts did you think were around back then? You seemed to be underestimating my era, it’s nothing like the peaceful one you currently live in."

Hearing this, Sol hesitated and then asked.

"How many Transcendents were there?"

"Over a hundred known ones, and several more unknown ones."

Sol sucked in a cold breath of air when he heard that.

He then recalled the Academy Leader was a Transcendent. Mar-Du had also said he was slightly weaker than the current Leaders of the Holy Sects and Great Clans.

That meant those hundred or so experts were almost as strong as the Leaders of the Holy Sects and Great Clans of the current era.

"Over a hundred? I doubt there are so many experts that strong around now."

"Well, it’s to be expected when more shackles have been added to this era."

Sol knew what Abdu meant by shackles and he nodded with a hummed. He then looked at this cauldron and spoke.

"Even though this might not be the original, it’s still extremely valuable. It might even be one of their Tribe’s Treasures."

Seeing Sol’s hesitant expression, Abdu said.

"Take it, it’s likely that brat’s way of saying thank you."

The brat Abdu was referring to was Mar-Du.

After thinking for a moment, Sol nodded.

He then returned to being excited to concoct some medicinal pills!

"Okay, let’s start with the difficulty at ten! I’ll be refining some Tier 3 medicinal pills!!"
