Chapter 277: Chapter 277- I Need You To Let My Daughter Go
Mar-Du nodded and then said.
"I’ve met them along with the top cultivators from Jianghu and the Land of Shadows to compare our strength with them."
Everyone was shocked when they heard that.
"Dad, how strong are they?"
Mar-Tala was the one who asked this.
Mar-Du folded his hands and closed his eyes. After a moment of silence he then said.
"We weren’t prepared for how strong they would be. Between the Seven Great Churches and the Warlock Families, they have a combined power that doesn’t lose out to the Land of Shadows, Jianghu, and our Barbarian Race’s combined might."
Everyone’s expressions changed when they heard that.
"Doesn’t that mean any one of them is powerful enough to defeat a single one of us?"
One of the older girls asked, and Mar-Du said with his eyes still closed.
"It wouldn’t even be a competition."
A solemn air floated over the table.
Mar-Dule paused before looking at his father and asking.
"How strong were their top cultivators? Did you guys’ fight?"
Mar-Du shook his head.
"There is no need to fight to compare our strength at our level. Just one look is enough, and..."
Mar-Du paused, and everyone’s breath hitched in their throats. Could it be that their father was on the weaker end compared to the top cultivators of the Western Region?
If that was the case, then that was bad.
Soon, Mar-Du finally continued but he didn’t finish his sentence.
"Comparing my strength to the top powers in Jianghu and Land of Shadows, I am slightly above the Sect Leaders of the Six Holy Sects and the Clan Leaders Five Great Clans. Within my level there is the Patriarch of the Miura Clan, the Third Elder of the Martial Alliance Academy, and that mysterious Headmaster of the Alchemy Pavilion, Young-Hwa. Below us is where the Sect and Clan Leaders of the Six Holy Sect and the Five Great Clans fall in. Except for the Sect Leader of the Shaolin Sect, he’s the strongest expert on the Eastern Continent."
Everyone took their time to absorb this news. They knew not many people had the privilege to know such information.
"What about the Third Elder of the Emei Sect?"
Sol asked.
Weren’t there rumors going around that she had surpassed the Shaolin Sect Leader after stealing the Patriarch of the Wudang Sect’s seed?
Mar-Du snorted when he heard Sol’s question.
"Do you really believe mere rumors?"
Sol forced a smile upon hearing Mar-Du’s mocking tone of voice.
"The Sect Leader of the Shaolin Sect is far more powerful than us. He’s in a realm that makes him close to becoming an Immortal. No, he might have already become one."
Everyone’s eyes widened when they heard that.
A real Immortal, could that be true?
"Wait, Dad, what about the Leader of the Martial Alliance Academy? Where does he rank?"
"Him? He’s slightly weaker than the Sect and Clan Leaders. But it’s unfortunate. When he was younger, he was hailed as a supreme genius of the Shaolin Sect, he was even thought to have the talent to reach his Master’s level. But he was too arrogant and longed for strength that he rushed breaking into the Heavenly Realm. If it wasn’t for his Master, the Leader of the Shaolin Sect, he would have died while trying to open his Heavenly Palace."
Sol listened to this and thought back to what Abdu said.
That the Academy Leader was only as strong as a Transcendent.
’Does that mean the Sect Leaders and the Clan Leaders are as powerful as Su-Moon or even Immortal Dai Shen?’
However, that didn’t seem right.
It was hard to compare the old cultivation system to the one now because of how different things were back then. There might not even be a point in comparing them.
"Don’t think too much about what I just said. These rankings might change if you factor in a few things, and there could even be more powerful experts in hiding that I don’t know about. I only told you this just so you can have a basic understanding of how our strength is compared to the Western Region."
Mar-Du said, and Sol realized he wasn’t the only one who was in deep thought.
"Dad, does the Western Region really have a similar number of cultivators in the Heavenly Realm to equal us in strength?"
Mar-Du shook his head.
"We have more, however, they have two people who are on par with the Sect Leader of the Shaolin Sect. One is from the most powerful of the Warlock Families, the Beorhtric Family. The other is from the strongest of the Seven Great Churches, the Ga-On Church."
Sol’s eyes narrowed when he heard the mention of the Ga-On church.
"If a war were to break out, who would win?"
Mar-Dule asked, and everyone’s expressions became solemn as they glanced at Mar-Du.
After a period of silence, Mar-Du said.
"For now, they have a slight advantage. But they wouldn’t dare attack us in fear of the number of Heavenly Realm cultivators we have. For them, they believe in monopolizing the resources for a select few, and because of this, besides the Warlock Families and the Great Churches, they barely have any other powers strong enough to be considered a first-rate Clan or Sect by our standards. However, after today, that might change. We all went back with knowledge that made us rethink how we’ve been cultivating our respective Race."
Up until this point, Mar-Du had his eyes closed, but he suddenly opened them and stared at Sol.
"Now do you understand why I can’t allow the Barbarian Race bloodline to disappear at this crucial juncture? Our race is already considered the weakest of the three races on the Eastern Continent. Now that the barrier to the Western Region is opening, we will be the weakest Race out of everyone. If this continues, then it could lead to us becoming what were in the past, a Slave Race. For the sake of my Barbarian Race, I need you to let my daughter go."
After Mar-Du said this, the tent fell silent.
Sol’s expression didn’t give away what he was thinking, but before he could say anything, a chair was heard sliding back.
"Sol, let’s go."
Mar-Yue said as she stood.
"Mar-Yue..."
Mar-Du said as he looked at his daughter.
Mar-Yue ignored him and turned to walk out of the tent.
Sol sighed and stood to leave, but Mar-Du suddenly slammed his hand on the table.
A loud bang went off in the tent, and everyone jumped. The clang of dishes from outside the tent also abruptly came to a stop.
