Chapter 234: Chapter 234- I’m This Close To Changing My Mind
"It’s okay, I’m fine."
Sol said as he tried to get up, but Gion placed his hand on his chest and forced him to lay back down.
"No, at least rest for a few minutes. If you continue like this your body is going to give out. At that point, your injuries might be irreversible."
Sol wanted to refute Gion’s words. As long as his heart didn’t stop he could recover from any injury and come back stronger than he previously was.
Due to this, Sol had all the incentive in the world to push his body as far as it could go.
However, he could understand how it may look from someone else’s perspective. Gion didn’t seem like he would take no for an answer.
Sol closed his eyes and relaxed a bit. The first time since Little Zeel was injured.
His injuries had never fully healed, and the Academy Leader’s actions had aggregated it. And that was on top of Sol fighting with Woo-Seong right after coming back to the Academy.
Sol had never been this injured aside from that time when he first met his Master. Even during training, it was in a controlled environment, but this situation was different.
However, what truly pushed him over the edge and almost made this experience worse than the first, was during his fight with Woo-Seong where he used his full strength to perform that fist strike.
His body was in no condition for him to be using his full strength like that.
Sol reopened his eyes to see Woo-Seong standing over him with a somewhat guilty expression on his face.
"I said it’s not you’re fault, it’s mine for pushing myself this far."
After saying this, Sol turned to see that Gion had taken out his Disciple Token.
"Brother Gion, are you contacting the Academy?"
Gion snorted when he heard that.
"The Academy? I’m contacting your friends so they can take you back to your courtyard to rest. I have a feeling you won’t listen to a word I say."
"Huh? W-Wait, don’t do that."
Sol panicked a little.
"No use, I already contacted Yoon-Jae from the Alchemy Pavilion."
"Ugh, you called for Brother Yoon-Jae? Why did you do that, he’s probably going to worry after he sees me."
"Isn’t that a good thing?"
Gion said looking at Sol.
Sol sighed and closed his eyes.
"I’d rather he didn’t."
A few minutes went by, and the door leading into the house was slammed open.
"Where is he?"
An enraged Yoon-Jae said as he scanned the courtyard.
He frowned at Woo-Seong standing over Asung-Hei who still had his hand pinned to the ground by the sword. Yoon-Jae then looked past them to see Sol still laying on the ground with Gion next to him.
He stomped over and Sol didn’t need to open his eyes to know that Yoon-Jae was glaring at him.
Sol cracked his eyes open and forced a smile. He then jokingly said in a whiny tone.
"Brother Yoon-Jae, it hurts all over."
Sol then raised his hand to be lifted up.
Yoon-Jae glared at him some more before saying.
"Severs you right."
But he then sighed before grabbing Sol’s hand and lifting him up.
While holding up Sol so he could walk, Yoon-Jae looked around and asked.
"Mind telling me what’s going on here?"
Woo-Seong glared at Asung-Hei and grabbed his sword as he said.
"I can, I was just about to kill this bastard."
With one swift tug, Woo-Seong pulled out his sword from Asung-Hei’s hand.
Asung-Hei released a pained groan before he saw Woo-Seong’s sword approaching his neck to sever it.
"WOO-SEONG!"
Sol yelled, and Woo-Seong’s sword stopped at Asung-Hei’s neck. A small trickle of blood could be seen running down the side of this neck onto the ground.
Gion could have stepped in, but he was merely watching from the side. He wasn’t going to interfere, Woo-Seong killing Asung-Hei wouldn’t be him killing a fellow disciple. Asung-Hei was someone who had snuck into the Academy.
However, he would find Woo-Seong guilty of covering up his Sect’s actions and detain him.
Woo-Seong looked away from Asung-Hei who was getting scared of coming close to death too many times, to look at Sol. He saw that Sol was looking at him with an unnaturally serious expression.
"If you kill him then you will kill any possibility of me seeing you as a friend."
Woo-Seong gripped his sword.
"Who do you think you are? Do you think I need you to see me as a friend? That’s too self-centered of you."
"If you aren’t my friend then you’re my enemy."
Woo-Seong looked at Sol silently before he lowered his head and mumbled.
"If I kill him, can’t we just still be friends?"
"No."
"What’s with that? How is that fair? He killed my brother, and you want me to forgive him?"
Sol shook his head.
"You don’t have to forgive him; I can’t ask you to do that. But killing him after what your Sect did to his brother is just wrong."
Silence fell over the courtyard for a brief moment before Woo-Seong moved his sword from Asung-Hei’s neck.
He walked over to the side and with his back to everyone he used his sleeve to wipe his eyes.
While Asung-Hei was getting up, Woo-Seong’s cold voice echoed out.
"Get out of here before I change my mind. And don’t you dare mention what my Sect did."
Gion frowned.
"Woo-Seong-"
However, he was cut off as Woo-Seong said.
"I’ll do it myself. No one would believe some unknown bastard who snuck into the Academy or trust the words of someone who is known to dislike our Sect, even if you are the Head Disciple of the Disciplinary Pavilion."
Woo-Seong turned to look at Gion as he said that last sentence.
And he was right.
The Wudang Sect was one of the Six Holy Sects. If it wasn’t someone like Woo-Seong who exposed them for their actions then it would just be taken as slander, or a plot by the Demonic Cult to frame them.
Asung-Hei tore a piece of his robes and wrapped it around his hand.
He looked at Woo-Seong and said.
"You said you asked your father to make your brother awaken a good Innate Dharma, you’re just as guilty for my brother’s death in my eyes."
Without looking at Asung-Hei, Woo-Seong raised his hand and said.
"I’m this close to changing my mind."
He used his used his fingers to show his limited patience.
