The Growth of a Titan -
Chapter 224- A Bet
Chapter 224: Chapter 224- A Bet
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Sol and Woo-Seong’s figures left shadows in the surroundings as they traded blows.
But their clashes sounded nothing like flesh colliding against flesh, but rather two mountains repeatedly slamming into each other.
Evidence of this was the destruction of the ground that look like it was caused by an earthquake.
"Wah-They’re going to destroy our Mountain!"
One disciple cried out as he watched Sol and Woo-Seong’s battle.
"Yeah."
One disciple responded.
"B-But shouldn’t someone step in?"
"Why don’t you step in to break up those monsters?"
"Are you kidding me? I don’t want to die when I’ve just become a Disciplinary Disciple!"
"But even if someone could, would they dare to when it’s Woo-Seong?"
"I think that’s Brother Sol. If the rumors are true, then this fight must be about the death of Geon-Soo."
"That’s highly likely."
As the Disciplinary Disciples stood from far to watch Sol and Woo-Seong’s battle, Gion appeared at the hole in the Main Pavilion. Upon seeing the destruction Sol and Woo-Seong had caused in such a short period of time, his face turned ugly.
"Enough the both of you!!"
Gion roared out as he flew into the air.
However, Sol and Woo-Seong were so focused on the battle that Gion’s words fell on deaf ears.
"They aren’t even listening to Senior Brother Gion. How brave of them."
Gion floated above the two and his eyes twitched at them ignoring him. Without an incantation or a hand seal, Gion performed a Martial Skill.
He waved his hand and a blue aura appeared around his palm.
On the ground, Sol was about to throw out a punch and Woo-Seong was about to perform a high kick. However, blue Aether Energy suddenly wrapped around their wrists and ankles.
Sol’s body was jerked back out of his control. He was then raised into the air along with Woo-Seong.
"Bastard Gion, what do you think you’re doing?!!"
Woo-Seong roared, but Gion suddenly waved his hand toward him, and blue Aether Energy clamped his mouth shut.
"You best believe that your Irregular Dharma Pavilion will be the ones to pay for all the damages that happened in the fight you started."
Woo-Seong glared at Gion.
Gion ignored his nasty looks to turned to Sol.
"As for you, I would imprison you for a year if it wasn’t for your situation."
The disciples in the surroundings hearing this felt that their Senior Brother had gone easy on the two. If it was any other time, he would have directly punished them without talking so much.
Gion waved his hand and released the two hotheaded boys.
Woo-Seong twisted his body and landed on his feet. He slowly got up and resisted the urge to groan. His entire body felt like it had been run over by a twenty-ton horse carriage.
’That bastard, his Fleshly Body is too terrifying. I’d rather fight him using my Sword Arts than my Martial Arts.’
As Woo-Seong thought this, he glared at Sol and said.
"I know you killed my Brother, and I’ll make you regret it. I might not be able to kill you know, but if you ever leave this mountain, you’re dead."
Sol watched Woo-Seong turn to leave. He smirked and called out.
"I plan on coming to your Irregular Dharma Pavilion."
Woo-Seong paused and turned to look at Sol with a cold expression.
"Do you have a death wish? If you come to my Irregular Dharma Pavilion Mountain, I’ll personally chop off your head."
Despite the threat, Sol’s smile got wider.
"I look forward to it. Next time don’t go showing off your weak physical strength in front of me."
Woo-Seong sneered. Sol was barely stronger than him in terms of physical strength.
"I didn’t know Brother Sol was so arrogant. I admit he’s a monster that has the physical strength of someone who refined all of his limbs, but Woo-Seong isn’t any weaker than him."
"Now that I think about it, could the rumors be exaggerated? They say he fought on equal footing with Byeong-Ho but here he is struggling against Brother Woo-Seong."
"Yeah, he’s talented, but he’s nowhere near Byeong-Ho’s level."
"I hear he uses a bow. If that’s the case he might be weaker than the Ten Rising Stars in the Heaven Arena who all use better weapons."
The disciples were now discovering that the stories about Sol’s talent were just inflated rumors.
Woo-Seong smiled mockingly at Sol as the words from the crowd drifted over to them.
"If you dare appear in front of me again, I’ll kill you."
Woo-Seong’s chest seemed to be higher as he confirmed to everyone, he was stronger than Sol. He was about to leave again, but Sol’s voice echoed out.
"Why don’t we make a bet? If I can’t force you back more than ten steps with a single punch, then I’ll lay down and let you chop off my head."
The chattering of the crowd suddenly ceased, and everyone looked at Sol completely speechless.
Woo-Seong wanted to burst out laughing, but when he looked at Sol he realized he was serious.
Woo-Seong’s eyes narrowed.
’What makes him so confident?’
As everyone was reeling back in shock, Gion turned to Sol with a grim look and said.
"Brother Sol, be careful with your words."
The smile never left Sol’s face even now.
He shrugged his shoulders and said.
"My words are gold, I never say things I don’t mean."
"Hahaha!! You all heard him. If he doesn’t lay down a let me chop off his head, then he’s nothing but an arrogant fool!"
Woo-Seong immediately took the opportunity to back Sol into a corner. Even if he refused to let his head be chopped off after losing, his reputation in the Academy was as good as over.
"Brother Gion, could you oversee this bet?"
Gion looked at Sol for a moment, then nodded.
From what Sol showed back in the Main Pavilion, he wasn’t someone who would make such a stupid bet.
"Wait, is this really going to happen?"
"I thought he would backdown on the bet."
"Yeah, I thought he said that because he didn’t want to lose face."
The disciples were surprised Sol still wanted to go through with this bet.
"We’ll stand thirty meters apart, is that okay?"
Sol asked, and Woo-Seong nodded.
The two then distance themselves before stopping with thirty meters away from each other.
Suddenly, Woo-Seong flipped his hand and took out a medicinal pill before swallowing it. He then sneered at Sol and said.
"You can’t use Fist Techniques or enhance your strength with any pills."
Sol nodded but said as well.
"You have to block with your physical strength only."
"Sure."
The pill had already dissolved in Woo-Seong’s body and healed his minor injuries. His body returned to its peak somewhat.
He was just buying time for the pill to take effect.
Sol knew what he was doing but his demeanor was still calm.
He shifted his body to the side, with one of his in front and one at the back.
He then raised his fist, but as Woo-Seong got ready to block his attack, Sol said.
"Oh, and if I win, you’ll need to personally escort me to your Irregular Dharma Pavilion Mountain while calling me Father on top of your lungs."
"W-What?"
Woo-Seong scowled at Sol’s words, but he didn’t get time to refuse this condition of the bet.
"Okay, ready."
Sol clenched his fist and just with that motion, the air around his hand seemed to distort.
Gion’s pupils constricted when he saw that phenomenon. Without hesitation, he realized Sol’s words were meant for him.
Gion reacted fast and he waved his hand toward Woo-Seong just as Sol threw out his punch.
BANG!!!
Sol’s hand blurred, but a shockwave echoed out and with the space in front of him being the focal point, it spread out to destroy the ground in he surroundings.
The disciples nearby felt their eardrums almost bust from the sound of the shockwave. But they were further shocked as they watched a stream of compressed air shot towards Woo-Seong; following right behind it was the force from Sol’s punch.
"Wah-What?!!"
Woo-Seong who was prepared to block Sol’s attack felt his scalp tingle. If he tried to block this with just his Fleshly Body, he was going to be obliterated. But before he could take out his Sword to perform a Sword Skill, the attack was already in front of him. His messy hair and tattered robes flapped wildly as the comprised air slammed into him. He crossed his arms, but he was forced to retreat by fifteen steps.
However, Sol’s real attack hadn’t even reached him yet.
Woo-Seong saw his life flash before his eyes, but before Sol’s attack could destroy him in body and soul, a thick wall made of ice appeared in front of him.
BANG!!
The largest shockwave yet spread out and forced the first-year, and second-year disciples in the surroundings to retreat out of fear.
