Chapter 223: Chapter 223- Reassessing These Lazy Geniuses

"You’re asking if I’ve gone mad?"

Woo-Seong tilted his head to one side and his face twisted into an ugly expression.

"If it was your little brother that was killed, wouldn’t you have gone mad too?"

Gion sighed before saying.

"Woo-Seong, go back. This is not the way to go about doing things."

"Screw your by-the-books attitude!!"

Woo-Seong stabbed his sword towards Sol who was buried by the rubble and roared.

"That bastard is going to die by my hands today!!"

Gion’s expression turned cold.

"I dare you."

Gion’s cultivation rolled out and put pressure on Woo-Seong.

As it turns out Gion was a Spiritual Realm cultivator.

This wasn’t a surprise as he was a fourth-year disciple.

"Ugh..."

Woo-Seong groaned, and he took a step back from Gion’s pressure.

However, at that moment, the rubble behind the two shifted.

They turned to see Sol slowly crawling out.

"Brother Sol, are you alright?"

Sol’s arms were slumped, and he tilted to one side as if he were about to fall but he managed to catch himself.

"Hey..."

Sol didn’t respond to Gion’s question. He looked up and stared Woo-Seong as he continued to say.

"...That hurt."

One second Sol was amidst the ruble, the next he was in front of Woo-Seong throwing out a fist.

Even Gion was taken aback by his speed much less Woo-Seong.

He raised his sword to block Sol’s fist, but with a loud bang, he was sent flying out the door he came through.

Outside, numerous white robe disciples, from first-year disciples all the way up to the fourth-year disciples, could be seen. There were some fifth-year disciples, who were by now official Elders, but they were only a handful.

Usually, when become a fourth-year disciple, they’re given the opportunity to become an Apprentice Elder of the Academy. After a period of time, they might be able to become official Elders who get to teach the disciples in the Lower Academy.

But disciples can either choose to stay as Elders or leave the Academy and return to their Clan or Sect to become Elders there.

Most of the disciples that stayed were disciples who weren’t from notable backgrounds. This was because the Academy will pay them five thousand mid-grade Aether Stones a month as well as provide other cultivation resources for them to cultivate as Apprentice Elders, and even more as official Elders.

As these Disciplinary Disciples were casually going about their business, the strict and organized atmosphere was broken as a part of the Main Pavilion suddenly exploded; a human figure came flying out right after.

The Disciplinary Disciples were shocked by this; they stood there with dumbfounded expressions on their faces.

Woo-Seong landed outside and stabbed his sword into the ground to stop himself. A massive trail of destroyed tiles came as a result.

"Wah-What the hell is going on?!!"

One Disciplinary Disciple couldn’t help but cry out as he looked at the destruction.

"Who is that bastard?"

"Wait, isn’t that Woo-Seong?"

"W-What?! Woo-Seong?"

The disciples who were enraged by the daringness of this person to fight on their Mountain, all had their mouths clamped shut when they discovered it was Woo-Seong.

Woo-Seong ignored the crowd of white robe disciples and glared at the Main Pavilion.

"Bastard!"

Woo-Seong roared out, and just when questions arose in the surrounding disciples’ minds as to who he was fighting, Sol suddenly appeared at the massive hole left inside the Main Pavilion.

He took a step and used his Heavenly Steps to appear in front of Woo-Seong.

Swoosh!

Sol’s fist shot through the air as he attacked Woo-Seong.

’Damn it! Why is he so fast? It must be that accursed Movement Skill!’

Woo-Seong slashed forward.

His red sword gained a yellow halo as his Sword Intent covered it.

Mix with his Aether Energy, Woo-Seong’s sword aimed to tear off Sol’s arm.

However, Sol’s hand suddenly became a palm that twisted at an odd angle along with his body to slip past Woo-Seong’s sword.

"This bastard."

Woo-Seong immediately cursed, as this was his Wudang Sect’s Eight Trigrams Palm Technique.

Bang!

Sol’s palm slammed into Woo-Seong’s chest, and he was sent flying.

But Sol appeared next to him and grabbed his hair. With a cold expression, Sol forcefully guided Woo-Seong’s face to meet his knee. However, it met Woo-Seong’s palm instead.

After blocking the attack, Woo-Seong tried to retaliate by slashing at Sol’s hand grabbing his hair, but Sol let go and dodged his sword easily.

Appearing behind Woo-Seong, Sol’s leg then lashed out like a steel whip at his side.

Woo-Seong twisted his body to block his leg with the side of his sword.

However, it was feint.

Sol’s fist came out of nowhere and struck Woo-Seong’s face.

Despite having the acupoints in three of his four limbs opened, Sol’s speed was too much for Woo-Seong, he barely had time to react to his attacks.

With a loud bang, Sol’s fist connected to Woo-Seong’s cheek.

Sol expected him to be sent flying, but Woo-Seong actually took a step back and tank the attack.

The force of Sol’s fist was redirected to Woo-Seong’s feet and the ground below him cracked with a loud bang.

Woo-Seong slowly turned to look at Sol who was slightly surprised.

Sol was holding back, but that punch contained a good portion of his physical strength.

Woo-Seong sneered at Sol.

"Do you think I’m like other Sword Cultivators?"

He then flicked his hand and his sword disappeared.

"My Wudang Sect’s whole philosophy is to have balance; do you think I would cultivate my Sword Skills and not my Martial Arts?"

After saying that, Woo-Seong confidently charged toward Sol barehanded.

Sol’s eyes narrowed, and he stepped forward as well.

The two youths threw out a punch at the same time.

BANG!!!

The force of their fists meeting caused a shockwave visible to the naked eye to sweep out into the surroundings.

Both retreated back four steps due to the clash.

Sol looked at Woo-Seong with further surprise.

He had placed more power into that strike, but Woo-Seong’s physical strength wasn’t any weaker than his.

He thought only Mar-Dule could have matched him in physical strength before, but to think there was someone else.

But perhaps this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Woo-Seong’s title as a Monster-level Genius and a Rising Star wasn’t for show.

Among the Rising Stars in the current generation, each of them had something unique to them.

For those in the know, Woo-Seong’s unique trait was that he defied the norm that a Sword Cultivator always focuses on attack power and neglected their defensive physical strength.

He was a genius when it came to the sword, only third to Byeong-Ho and the Young Master of the Namgung Clan. But unlike them, his talent in Fleshly Body cultivation and Martial Arts could be mistaken for someone of the Barbarian Race.

This was added to the fact that his Sect must have supplied him with all sorts of pills and elixirs to refine his bones.

If Sol wasn’t mistaken, Woo-Seong had already refined all the bones in his four limbs.

"I was saving this for that bastard Byeong-Ho to drag him down from the number one spot. But you should be a good practice. I’ll show everyone you aren’t qualified to be spoken of in the same breath as Byeong-Ho, or us from the Holy Sects and Great Clans."

Swoosh!

A domineering aura rolled out from Woo-Seong, while a yellow aura slowly began to rise from his body.

This was a terrifying amount of Earth Aether Energy.

’He cultivates Earth Aether Energy? No wonder his sword strikes felt heavy rather than sharp.’

The yellow Earth Aether Energy was more concentrated on Woo-Seong’s fists.

"You want to compete in physical strength with me? That’s laughable!"

Woo-Seong uprooted the ground as he shot toward Sol.

Sol grinned.

This was getting interesting. Perhaps he and Byeong-Ho needed to reassess these Lazy Geniuses.
