Chapter 282: 5.04.1 Who would bother sleeping tonight?
A man who was too out of touch.
No, Rashid was not a man, but a child no matter what his accomplishments were. So a bit of tomfoolery from his front is not so absurd when one thinks deep enough.
But it still takes a next-level fool to be so blind to his surroundings and his situation.
Does he think that while studying in the school of an enemy nation, they won’t keep an eye on him?
Does he think that he would be ignored due to his identity and left alone to do whatever he wants?
Does he think the enemy won’t be curious due to his youth? And put some of their dogs on him?
No, with how things have progressed and his months-long attempt to integrate with life on the other side of the border, it was easy to see that he is not simply a fool. He is a smart guy who knows consideration and follows a very conservative path so as to not come under the attention of anyone.
Hiding in plain sight while withholding his intentions for months before eventually, he got what he wanted. Or at least found what he was looking for.
Hence the break in character, the break in the facade he kept all this time, and sending out his men so rashly out in the field to look for a woman that he didn’t even know of. A sign of complete desperation.
He was a desperate young man who abandoned his facade the moment he got what he wanted.
But why, and how did he know she would come here?
Something odd was definitely going on in this place, something much deeper than Baldar could think.
But then again, considering the identity of the woman, things were messy to begin with. ’Is this your test?’ Baldar wondered, before silently writing more of his personal thoughts in a book before he entered his study.
"Sir, you intend to do it here," Kanha asked from the side.
"We are abandoning this place anyways, so why not leave some gift for those that might advance on us?" Among the ones that might advance, there was Remira, the knight who dragged Sheva to this place.
The other could be the third party backing Rashid, or Rashid himself, who knows. But whoever it would be, they would be in for a surprise as Baldar was going to leave something special for them.

Henry Rotham was born and raised in Phuket, while sometimes visiting the capital of Yethel during vacations where her mother’s side of the family lived.
He was neither good at studies nor good at reading social cues, but his bright personality was loved by many, and his charisma also made him woo a girl when he was just twelve years old, now his girlfriend.
A fool with a simple life with nothing to speak about.
Even his father who earned the bloodline of the Wandering Lamb through the achievements of his own father was just a simple man who never even entered the adept level throughout his whole life and now worked as a manager for a ship-building company.
There was nothing that stood out about him, he was just one of the many that exist in this world, mediocre as they come and would disappear into society the moment he left his golden years of school.
And that would have been his life, if not for Rashid.
"You are here, at this hour?" Confused for a bit, Henry asked Rashid who appeared to be alone, but he knew that like usual, one of Rashid’s bodyguards might be hiding along a corner.
"Something important has come up, and I request your help?" Rashid didn’t beat around the bush and asked directly. And Henry nodded.
"Let me dress up first."
The event around evening when they were out in the restaurant had put some strain on Henry’s mind. He could see the look in the eyes of his friends, many of them were a bit disturbed by the incident. And although they didn’t say anything, Henry did feel that they held a bit of resentment in them.
The first time, he was mostly oblivious to others’ feelings until someone pointed it out, which goes to show that his friends truly didn’t bother hiding their feelings toward him.
It was why he intended to apologize to them tomorrow in the class, all in an attempt to rectify his mistake so that they wouldn’t hold it in their heart for long. It was the best thing to do. Sometimes, being direct was the best.
And with Rashid coming here early, he got that chance early as well.
So as the two left together, Henry apologized, while saying. "I really didn’t expect that something was wrong at that time... I should have known better." At those words, Rashid turned silent.
He didn’t know what had happened when he eventually left. For he had rushed to do some detailed research on his professor Kaarath, who was along with that woman.
But ended up finding nothing special.
An old widower with his children working in the Capital, this was truly his golden years and anyone else in his place would have chosen to rest. But he was such a workaholic that he still went to the school just out of habit, and then helped around sometimes when the need arose.
But no matter what, he found a link, a safer way to approach that woman instead of going to confront her like a fool and angering her.
Though, the chance of that happening was low, considering who he carried.
His friend, Henry.
"You don’t have to apologize to me Henry... instead, I should be the one doing that to you." Sitting in the carriage, Rashid took a deep breath and replied.
"Apologize to me?" A bit surprised at the sudden apology, Henry suddenly smiled and said. "Ah, are you talking about what happened in the port?... there is no need to worry, It was my..."
"It’s not that Henry... There are some things I have been hiding from you. Hiding from everyone else."
"... that you are the son of some world class tycoon? That would explain all those body..."
"Listen Henry, this is hard for me to do, so please listen for now."
With those words, Rashid shut down Henry. "Do you see the lines along the walls of this carriage?" To let Henry understand that things were not as simple, Rashid explained to him the details of the carriage. "Enchantment to shut off the voice and sight of anyone that tried to gleam in any conversation we take here."
"The outer shell of the carriage is also capable of handling attacks from a Master Level easily."
"Among my bodyguards, there is a master level hidden whom I don’t even know of. But they always keep a watch on me."
"And then, there is this." Then Rashid handed Henry his decorative sword. "Try folding it." Following those words, Henry tried to fold it with his apprentice strength, but it didn’t work.
No, the weapon itself felt heavier. Much heavier than the decorative sword he carried himself. "Its a real one?"
"Correct." Then as if to make Henry understand the situation completely, Rashid took the sword and folded it easily right in front of Henry.
"..."
"How strong are you?"
"An Adept level Knight. Probably the youngest one in recent history."
"That’s your secret, you are a super genius?"
"No Henry... that’s not what I meant to talk about to you... I wish for you to understand the severity of the situation and only when you understand it, I intend to ask for your help."
Confusing words came out of Rashid’s mouth. But Henry didn’t know what to do about it. "I am just a mere apprentice, how could I help?"
"Truth be told, I don’t know... all I am doing currently is following the words of my benefactor." Rashid had too much to talk about, but Henry was not the kind to be able to handle huge amounts of details at once.
So the more Rashid spoke, the more mute Henry became.
"So you were after that woman?"
"Yes, I came here because I knew she would appear in this city in the coming days... which turned to months. But at least, we are finally here."
"Why, and who is that woman?"
At such a question, Rashid didn’t know if it was appropriate to explain the details to Henry or not, because once he knows it, his life won’t ever be the same. "Henry, I won’t tell you who she is. But know this, there is a high chance I won’t survive this, and the same fate might follow you if you were to come with me."
"So choose Henry, for I don’t have the will to force you to do things that you don’t want to. You can get off the carriage and I will go toward Professor’s Kaarath’s house on my own, or you can come together with me and listen to more of the details."
At such a question, Henry suddenly laughed. "Rashid, I am not smart enough to know if you are joking about it all or are you truly being serious. But you should know me. All you need to do is ask and I will come with you."
"And besides, that woman didn’t seem evil if she could bother to enjoy a market with our professor."
******
It was night, and time for rest. But, who would bother resting at this moment?
’He should be going to the professor’s house.’
It was going to be one entertaining night.
