Chapter 275: 5.02.2 Peace was never an option.
A fool I was. Getting my guard down thinking that Rashid won’t’ catch on to me. Its probably him who sent the guy after me to keep a watch on me.
Or it’s one of his protector’s or bodyguards’ way of ensuring that the recent meeting was really an accident and I was truly who I say I was.
So I understood what I had to do.’I don’t even like fish.’ Which was to buy fish for real. The act needs to be kept up, I need to act as a coward even in front of the shops and be bullied into buying expensive fish without bargaining, which would make me seem like a pushover.
All an act for the stalker I had earned after meeting those two.
Ah, this reminds me of the days in Bothal. But the severity was not as bad as before. Fooling this one won’t be much of a problem.

"This little dwarf really shouldn’t be left alone on his own." The Bodyguard’s name was Rizzad, and he followed Crow just due to a single reason.
"Please keep a watch on you so that nothing bad happens to him again." This was Rashid’s request which Rizzad couldn’t deny no matter what. And from the looks of it, his young master was right in his choice.
’This boy can’t survive on his own.’ Was Rizzad’s belief after watching Crow getting scammed. But nothing could be done, as long as the life of Crow was not under any threat, he wouldn’t act.
This is what he was paid for and this is what he intends to do at the moment.
Of course, things did turn a bit weird when Rizzad watched the boy come to a halt, as he looked at two women that were walking in the streets.
’A beautiful woman and her bodyguard?’ Rizzad wondered if these were the ones that his Young master and his friend were looking for.
Though he can’t say unless he sees their face, not to mention, there were some differences from the details that Henry had mentioned. Differences that Rizzad couldn’t scrutinize, as the shorter woman glared at him deeply, startling him for a bit, then as fear crept up in his body, he turned around and rushed out of the scene, not daring to look back and abandoning his current mission in the process.
And it was not because he was scared. Instead, in his mind, he found the ones his master was looking for.

"Fuck!" I knew it, this dog-like woman sensed me. Otherwise, why would she be here in the fish market?
No, not just that, she even had that other woman whom Master used to bring himself all over the place. And although I couldn’t look at her face, I was sure it was her, that sniper woman who looked more like a monster than a human.
It was then that I recalled something else.
’The Radiant Knights are not officially allowed in the lands of Yethel due to their prior offense with few exceptions in between.’
’Her clothes lack any armor, her waists lack any giant blade, there might be a pistol hidden due to its small size though.
’As for the big woman called Sheva... I don’t know if she betrayed us or just came to work with this woman for a bit due to some restrictions. But she also doesn’t possess any of her ranged weapons and is in civilian clothes. Almost attempted to meld in with the commoners in the market, but due to her build, it made it harder for her to accomplish that.
"They won’t be able to act out in this city. For it is his city." I knew it." I was sure of it, and when that Knight’s face turned to face me, I knew for sure from the look in her eyes that she didn’t dare to approach me, nor did I try to do the same.
All I did was tap my fingers for a bit, sending out a simple morse code for the giant woman named Sheva. A simple code that said.
’Max is still alive.’ And that’s it, that was all I could send out before leaving under the constant buzzing of the insect in my ear.
They won’t pursue me, which I was sure of as of now, so there is no need to interact with them any further. As staying closer to them would only mean trouble for me and I don’t wish to experience such trouble with them anymore.
My goal was of a fun adventurous life and not to put my own life in danger for it.
*****
"The little dwarf, what did he message you?"
"Nothing much... just that we should stay apart from each other." Sheva lied due to her own reasons.
She didn’t know what Remira might do with the information that Max was alive. But it didn’t mean she would try to experiment with her.
Although its only been for a while, Sheva had come to understand what kind of woman this was. And in her eyes, she was dangerous and unpredictable.
"Keep your lies for now..." And Remira was also smart enough to catch on to this lie. "For now, we can be sure of one thing, we are under their eyes... I saw another of their spies not too far from here. Following that dwarven boy."
"Captain, it was eventually going to happen with me around. I bet that they knew of our existence for a while now, but hadn’t acted for some reason." The discussion continued in their small hideout which was nothing more than a hotel room with a scenic ocean view.
Of course, there was someone else in this place as well, the contact from Pulgasari who came here to keep an eye on Sheva and make sure that they were doing their job properly.
But sad for him, he was not in this room, nor was he aware of this small meeting here.
"But this happened sooner than I had anticipated." Remira understands how Jester’s ability functions and how there is a range under which he can control his little rats. And from what she knows, Jester is currently busy in the capital, meaning there won’t be a tight net of rats in this city, making it much freer for her to act.
And as long as she remains conscious of normal informants that always keep an eye on special individuals like her, she might be able to stay hidden for longer and make her plans.
Which was all for naught as she had been found out.
’Staying here is dangerous’ She understood that staying even in this hotel room with a target on her back was a foolish thing to do, and in her current situation, she should make an escape right about now.
But Remira didn’t wish to do so.
There were some reasons for it. Reasons that only she knew. But for her main excuse she said.
"That boy, you said he had saved you multiple times before?"
"Little crow?" Sheva thought for a bit, recalling that youthful face again and then nodded. "He did, but you should forget about asking him for help. He only did all that under order from above. As for who gave him the orders, I am unaware of it." Sheva understood what Remira might be wondering.
It was probably to drag Crow to her side by using the past as a weapon.
But what Remira was unaware was that the crow had worked for them in spite of Max killing his father. And for what?
Truth be told, she didn’t know why he did it and helped them. Was he really just a good boy at heart that abandoned his father due to his evil actions?
If he did so before, won’t he do so again when she made such a request from him?
"We will never know unless we try it? Not to mention, Jester’s men chose to save him instead of you, a capable fighter. He should hold some higher importance to them."
"He can be a good candidate."
There was no fighting Remira when she has made up her mind And Sheva, after learning that her words were not needed anymore, turned silent.
She can’t ask too much of Remira after she had agreed to her request of visiting the orphanage where she grew up.

Baldar flew up in rage after reading the contents of the report he just received. "She is here?" The air around him turned heavy as the informant that submitted the file dropped to the ground and shook in terror in front of Baldar.
"She is here and you speak of it only now?"
"They only came here yesterday, and the Knight was too attentive and kept catching us while we tried to profile them."
"The big woman is not someone that is hard to profile."
"Yes master, but she was just a mortal, so we didn’t focus on her much."
Hearing these words, the eyes of Baldar started to bleed, before he closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down. "Tell your superior to come here tomorrow morning, he seems to have forgotten how to do his job."
Punishing a clerk for the mistakes of his boss was something only fools did. And Baldar was not a fool.
He had been in that man’s place. He knows how powerless one feels over the whims over their superiors.
"And go tell Kahna that I need some more tissues. My tear glands ruptured again."
"Yes, I will inform him." Bowing to him three times the man left, knowing full well that he had been shown some mercy here.
