The F-Class Healer Omega is a Villain [BL]
Chapter 36: For the better

Chapter 36: For the better

"You know what, it’s better like this. Master went back to report what happened inside the gate and find a healer who would be able to heal you..."

He must not be that mad at him if he was trying to find a healer for him. He must just be busy. Assuring himself, Cheon Areum nodded.

"I’d like to be discharged now."

".....If Master questions me later, I’m telling him you threatened me."

One more floor. That was all, but he couldn’t climb a single step more. Defeated, he sat on the stairs panting. The pheromones could be contained with the nape patch and his urges with the suppressor, but the fever residing inside his body couldn’t be remedied. That’s why, despite everything, it was recommended for omegas to stay home during heat.

It had been a while since the last time he felt this weak. In his previous body, he could only occasionally go outside for a walk, and without missing it once, he would always end up with a high fever and body aches for the next three days. This is exactly how it felt. All he wanted to do was stay in bed.

With a deep sigh, he began ascending the stairs again. He had been afraid he’d become like the omegas in books who would throw themselves on any alpha in sight, but he didn’t feel the need to do so at all. Inside the gate, he didn’t have the time to think about anything like that, so even after smelling all kinds of alpha pheromones, he didn’t pay attention to them.

"Wait... ha..."

Did he also get a whiff of Yoon Seoyul’s pheromones? He didn’t know for sure... but his first official gate after joining the guild and he was already ruining the reputation Yoon Seoyul had worked so hard building for years.

Should I just leave the guild?

That was the most reasonable thing he could do right now. After he leaves the guild, it will quickly gain back the public’s faith again... and he would be the only one regarded as the ’villain’.

"...."

The hand about to enter the passcode froze midway. What was the passcode again? He squinted at the digital lock, burning holes in the numbers, but he couldn’t remember at all.

"This heat is getting to my brain..."

Cheon Areum opened the notes app on his phone. He was appreciative Rian had the time to write down everything containing numbers for him on his new phone. It was quite useful—maybe he should note down everything from now on. Like his heat date, so he could at least predict the next time it would arrive.

He noted the date and turned the handle with a click. Uncapping a cold water bottle as soon as he entered the apartment, he emptied the whole thing, not realizing how thirsty he had been. That’s when the doorbell rang. He put down the empty bottle on the kitchen counter and checked the intercom before opening the door for them.

"Hey..."

It was Aera and Rian. They arrived almost at the same time as him, but it was the perfect timing. Cheon Areum greeted Aera with a shallow "hey," but his eyes were watching Rian, who quietly glanced at his left arm and skipped past him, going inside the apartment without a word.

"Thank you for looking after him. I hope he didn’t trouble you too much."

Cheon Areum muttered dispiritedly. Aera glanced down at him for a second before brushing her hair back with her fingers. Casually, as if confirming something, she gave a nod of approval before speaking.

"At least you didn’t injure your face. I heard from Inho what happened in the dungeon."

"Oh, I’m sorry."

"No, don’t sweat it. I wasn’t even there. Also, Rian is quite mature for his age. He behaved the whole evening and did as I told. I actually wish my siblings would learn a thing or two from him."

Aera smirked gently. She appeared completely different from the last time he had seen her. When they previously met, she was wearing a combative black strapped full-body suit made to carry all sorts of blades. At present, she wore a black skirt with a knitted off-the-shoulder sweater, with cute accessories matching the colors and a bow in her shoulder-length black hair. She didn’t seem the least bit comparable with her assassin-class type.

"I really thought he would be crying for his Hyung all day."

Cheon Areum chuckled solemnly. He was completely off the mark. It was better if Rian hadn’t cried, though.

"Come inside. I have tea. Would you like that?"

"Another time. I’m not so confident in myself, so..."

"....."

Aera tapped his cheek softly as she spoke and instantly turned to leave. Cheon Areum touched his cheek and locked the door before walking over to the couch stuffed in the living room. Rian threw his little backpack on the couch and mounted it.

"You didn’t miss Hyung?"

"I did."

The reply came almost instantaneously. Rian looked him straight in the eye as he spoke.

"I thought you’d come to pick me up from the daycare."

"It took longer than I expected... sorry. How was the daycare? You like it? Did you have fun with Aera?"

Nervously rubbing the back of his neck, Cheon Areum said. Rian pouted, swinging his legs.

"I made many new friends at the daycare, and she’s also really nice. I had a lot of snacks and toys to play with..."

Rian paused and eyed the cast on his arm, clearly unhappy about it.

"You don’t have to worry about this, Rian. It’ll be the same as before in no time!"

Cheon Areum tried lifting his left arm a bit to show off but ended with a deep pain traveling to his shoulder.

"Mom wouldn’t be happy if she saw you hurting."

Rian mumbled, shifting his gaze to his feet. Cheon Areum’s hand pressing his shoulder dropped. He sat down on the floor and looked up at Rian tenderly.

"I’m sorry. I’ll try not to get hurt again. Will you forgive me?"

"You don’t have anything to be sorry for. I’ll help you out until you can use your arm again."

Rian shook his head and smiled at him.

"Alright, I’ll be counting on you."

"Can you tell me where the hair ties are? I want to tie your hair back so they won’t bother you when you wash your face."

"Um... about that. I lost the hair tie you gave me. I searched for it everywhere, but I couldn’t find the same one. I’m sorry again... these are the ones that closely resembled it."

Cheon Areum got the hand-sized box from the kitchen cabinet and placed it on the couch, lifting the lid of the box. It was full of hair ties with butterflies on them. Rian stared at it and got one from the pile he liked.

"Hyung must be more sad about losing it. These are almost the same, so it’s okay. Sit here. I’ll go and get the hairbrush."

Rian wore the picked hair tie on his wrist and jumped down from the couch. He ran to the bedroom. With a hairbrush in hand, he came back and sat on the couch while Cheon Areum sat, legs crossed, on the floor facing the wall. The tiny hands moved quickly as he brushed his hair back and held it in a ponytail position.

"You didn’t have to hide the box. I already knew you lost it."

"Oh... are you forgiving me then?"

"Hm..."

With a double knot, his hair was neatly tied back with a black butterfly hair tie. Cheon Areum touched his head to check when he felt his phone in his pocket vibrate. It was a call from the only saved number on his phone.

"Yoon Seoyul?"

Rian asked without looking at the screen. He dragged his backpack across the floor as he headed to the bedroom.

"I’m going to get ready to sleep. You can talk with him."

Cheon Areum answered the call as soon as Rian disappeared into the bathroom.

"Hello?"

"Where are you right now?"

A stern voice came from the speaker.

"I’m at home. Why? Are you coming?"

Cheon Areum slouched down on the couch. It wasn’t late. If Yoon Seoyul wanted to visit, they could eat dinner together too.

"No. I have another gate scheduled."

Yoon Seoyul was busy. He hadn’t picked up the call earlier because he was really busy. That alone eased his mind a little.

"But in that state? Don’t go."

"This much is nothing. Also, there is a healer in the team."

"Weren’t you supposed to find me a healer too?"

"I did. You’ll have to come over to the guild building in the morning. Or should I bring her to your place?"

Cheon Areum pondered over it a bit as Yoon Seoyul patiently waited for him.

"I’ll come over to your office tomorrow morning. I have something I want to talk about with you too."
