The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra
Chapter 202: Dawn Of The War (1)

Chapter 202: Dawn Of The War (1)

Despite treating each other as friends, they never admitted it out loud, and this was the first time that they both acknowledged it.

Arren couldn’t help but also smile, his mind and heart relaxing. He looked at Rave and remembered just how he only looked at the omega as the protagonist of the book and was always thinking that he knew Rave more than himself just because he knew some of the plot.

Now, when he looked at the white-haired omega, he wasn’t looking at him as the character anymore but as truly his friend, someone he could rely on other than his father and Rave.

His eyes lit up, and he grinned, "Yes, we’re friends." For some reason, he liked the sound of it.

In the end, Arren decided not to accompany Rave further as he met his subordinates.

Arren laughed and embraced the omega, he was always clingy when it came to Rave, which the other didn’t reprimand, even if he jokingly did occasionally.

"Don’t pretend you don’t know that I only use that as an excuse," he chuckled, leaning his head on the other’s shoulders, "I just really want to go outside and be with you, so, now, I’m already satisfied."

He looked at Rave in the eyes, who was also doing the same thing, both eyes were looking softly at each other.

"You still can stay," Rave said softly, somehow his tone wasn’t gracefully monotonous but more human and gentle.

"I want to, but... I want to see Spade now." He smiled, using Spade as an excuse. His eyes fluttered, and without waiting for Rave to say something, he leaned forward so he could whisper in the omega’s ear. "Rave, you can also see him if you want to."

As he withdrew, he already knew that Rave would be shocked by what he said; both knew who he was talking about. In these crucial times, Arren actually didn’t know what was going to happen now, as he had no recollections of it from the plot, or even if he did, it was all a mess now.

At least, what he knew was that... Rave longed for someone, even if he hadn’t admitted it himself yet.

He laughed again, seeing Rave’s petrified expression, "Who knew what was going to happen in the next few days? Just be proactive now, okay?" He winked and gave a quick peck on the omega’s cheek.

Rave’s expression became twisted now that he was processing two things after his kiss, Arren was giving him a hint. He was aware of the abnormality around Spade and Levin, something would definitely happen between them one of these days.

He didn’t wait for Rave to recover, as he had already dashed away from him and entered the car. He would never know if he would become violent because of what he did.

And yet what he anticipated didn’t come, Rave knocked on the window, signaling for him to open it. Arren looked at the driver before he slightly moved away from the window before he opened it.

"Why? It’s just a kiss on the cheek..." Arren already became defensive, but he was forced to shut up as he saw that Rave didn’t seem mad.

Rave’s lips were tightly shut, but there was something soft in his expression, and his hesitation was revealed in those eyes.

"Do you think..." Rave paused and sighed as he lowered his head, smiling bitterly. "Nevermind." The omega didn’t finish his words, but Arren had a conjecture on what he wanted to say.

Arren stared at Rave and noticed how he was having a hard time. He was aware of why. For someone who only had one thing on his mind and a goal to achieve after all these years, something incredibly new like feelings was hard to grasp but even harder to commit to.

"It’s fine; you can focus on what you think is the most important." Arren’s tone now held some solemnity. "Perhaps, we all need the right time."

Arren wasn’t really good at giving love advice, Spade was even his first relationship, so he didn’t know exactly what to say and felt guilty since he was the one who brought Levin up in their conversation.

Hopefully, they could get it together; Arren liked to see them together after all. just let it to fate, even to his own; he didn’t know their outcome.

Rave fell silent, while Arren was at a loss for words as well. He swallowed and decided to break the stalemate. He waved his hand and gave the omega a reassuring smile.

"Go home safe, alright?" He chose to end it with that; Arren didn’t want to involve himself with others’ love lives further and could only hope for the best.

With a final glance at each other, both bade farewell for now. Rave was now going to meet his subordinates while Arren returned to the palace. The omega would probably be back in the palace as well after this; they could see each other then, so there was no need for a heartfelt farewell.

Fortunately, Arren’s mini-trip outside went smoothly as he strode the familiar hallways of the palace again. He only lived for about a month in this place, but he already missed it somehow after being away for almost two weeks.

After a while, he stopped; his eyes stared at the door that led to Spade’s study. Even if he didn’t tell the alpha that he would return to the palace, he knew Spade was already aware.

The last time they saw each other was when Spade was sick, and they only spent a few hours together since the alpha was sleeping for that duration.

He licked his lips and drew a deep breath, calming the excitement in his heart that he was about to see his alpha again, whom he had missed so much.

Arren opened the door slowly, but he didn’t open it widely either, just enough for his body to get through as he looked inside. Spade’s study was wide, but at the same time, it also had a simple interior. Without a lot of furniture inside, it gave off a bit of an empty feeling.

He only visited it a handful of times during his stay in the palace, as he was always in the room or some entertainment area made for him.

His eyes immediately roamed inside, the light was dim, and silence shrouded the room, Arren didn’t see Spade or anyone. He wasn’t here? His excitement slightly faded, and he pursed his lips.

Should I leave and go straight to our room or stay here? He pondered to himself while standing in front of the door. Arren licked his lips, before deciding to wait here and taking a step forward.

Arren looked around; his footsteps echoed, and the light coming from outside illuminated the interior of the room. He didn’t bother lighting the room, although he was quite confused because it was not open, to begin with.

Is Spade being frugal on the electricity bill now? He laughed at that thought. His hand touched the wooden desk, and he walked until he was already in Spade’s seat, his eyes landing on top of the alpha’s desk.

What he noticed first was that it was clean and organized; there wasn’t even a slight dust on it. The files were neatly folded at the side. His eyes were raised, and he frowned.

What should I do? Will Spade come here, or will he wait for the alpha in their room instead? Arren sat on the swivel chair and made himself comfortable, the dark surroundings somehow looked thrilling to him.

A few minutes passed, and he was already moving the swivel chair, getting bored. Arren didn’t want to read some files on the desk either, deciding to leave if Spade didn’t come for another minute or two.

A while later, when Arren stayed and was about to go to sleep, footsteps sounded outside, and there were some voices he could hear. His eyes narrowed, and he looked at the door. Was it Spade?

Suddenly, a mischievous grin played on his lips, his gaze landing under the desk. He had a playful thought. Before the door opened, Arren had already moved and sat under the desk, planning to hide from the alpha.

Spade’s desk didn’t have a space where you could see someone hiding underneath. And Arren didn’t open some light and left everything as is.

He even put his hands in his mouth to make sure he wouldn’t make a sound as he crouched under the desk.

Not long after the door opened, Spade’s voice reached his ears first, before another soon followed.

"No, we’ll go to the first one." Spade’s deep voice rang, speaking in his usual authoritative tone when talking with his subordinates.

"Your Majesty, will the meeting of the World Leaders still commence as planned?" A man’s voice inquired; Arren remembered it as Serrien’s voice.

Footsteps resounded, the two were now approaching where Arren was as the surroundings lit up.

"Mm, it will," Spade responded, paused, and there was a sound of paper flipping. "But it’s only after it started, no one can deny it then." The alpha’s voice became deeper, as it tinged with disdain and cunning with his words.

Arren listened to all of it; he didn’t know exactly what they were talking about, but he had a hunch. His eyes widened. Would the war start?
