Chapter 115: First Appearance (3)

It seemed like, as Arren was always isolated in the palace, time flew faster, and in a blink of an eye, it was already the day of the grand commemoration on Capital Square.

That meant it was also the day of his first public appearance as Spade’s lover.

"Are you nervous?" a soft and graceful voice sounded beside his ears. Arren turned and looked over at Rave, who was helping him again with his suit, which was more formal and grand than what he wore at the last banquet.

Rave was there as his personal assistant in the palace, and of course, he was also a friend, although they didn’t acknowledge it.

"A little," Arren admitted, and he didn’t needlessly disgust the other omega by making sarcastic remarks. He really was a little nervous this time.

The white-haired omega looked at him as they stared at each other silently. Rave was already done fixing and adding the accessories to Arren’s suit.

"His Majesty will be there for you," Rave simply said; however, it could still be understood what he was trying to say. His expression remained calm, like his voice, but Arren felt his comfort just the same.

Arren couldn’t help but smile and hook his arms around the omega. "Aw, Rave, you’re getting sweeter these days." He said laughing and brushing his face against the omega, already comfortable to be so clingy with the other omega.

As a result, Rave squirmed, trying to get away from his hold, but he also wasn’t pushing him too hard.

"Can you act with your new identity? Arren, you can’t just act extremely friendly with your personal attendant. Even more so after being introduced to everyone by His Majesty." Rave started nagging as he stopped escaping Arren’s hold; his voice was firm, as though he were really a tutor to Arren in noble etiquette and customs.

However, the smile on Arren’s lips didn’t fade in the slightest and instead widened. He didn’t let go of Rave but only nodded his head casually to the omega’s words, it was obvious that he was already used to Rave’s nagging and wasn’t listening to it too seriously.

Ever since, Arren stayed in the palace again, their relationship really became closer. Arren became clingy and wanted to annoy Rave, while the latter became like a nagging mother to him. In terms of age, he was really the older of the two.

"It’s okay, it’s only the two of us here. And, who says I can’t interact and be friendly with you after Spade introduced me to the Empire?" He grinned and looked over the omega while facing him; their heights were almost the same. "I am not a royal yet, and the time that I really become one... I am still me, and you are still you. So, I don’t think there’s a problem." His phoenix eyes were bright, and his words were extremely sincere.

Arren never bothered with status and such. After being reincarnated as Arren, he grew up under the precious care and love of his father, so he admitted that he was spoiled. However, the Duke’s attitude towards his servants was clearly passed on to him, saying that everyone in the Katz Mansion was family and shouldn’t be treated too unfairly.

Even though they retained the most basic customs as part of the hierarchy of the empire, Arren was really close with the servants and always addressed them politely. It was even more so after he remembered his past life’s memories when he was eleven. His attitude and customs were open-minded with these kinds of things.

Rave froze, and his expression almost changed, and he quickly averted his gaze. He fell silent and didn’t respond to Arren for a moment, as though he was at a loss for what to say.

An inexplicable emotion flickered across his face; it was somehow conflicted, but as he pursed his lips and looked closely, he appeared more emotional about it. He swallowed, not daring to look at Arren before the corner of his lips curled upward.

"Then do as you like," he said, as though exhausted and could only relent without no other choice.

With this reaction, Arren giggled and hugged the omega’s arm tightly to his chest. He truly loved Rave’s company and viewed it as something precious to him.

"Arren, you’ll wrinkle your clothes." Rave exasperatedly reprimanded and another nagging ensued which Arren only laughed and shrugged off.

After a few minutes, Arren stopped fooling around and truly got ready. He was in a good mood, and the bit of nervousness he was feeling dissipated as well.

Rave quickly left him in the room, knowing that Spade would soon arrive. Since, the omega also needed to prepare for and attend the ceremony. After Arren’s status was more or less established, as his personal attendant, it was reasonable that he was always with Arren. It could also be convenient when they were always together.

"Are you ready?" Spade asked as he raised his head, looking at the alpha standing in front of him.

Arren nodded and initiated moving closer and wrapping his arms around the alpha to slightly embrace him.

"I am," he smiled and answered his alpha.

Spade lowered his head and looked at him while cupping his face as his lips curled into a small smile, his amber eyes particularly prominent and bright.

"Alright, let’s go and meet everyone."

They smiled at each other before interlocking their fingers and setting out for the Capital Square.

The event in Capital Square this time was not only a commemoration or awareness event but also a mini-gathering of world leaders and their representatives. It was lively but also challenging for the authorities and security.

The second agenda of this event was the closed-door meeting of all world leaders about the threat of organization to the world’s balance and safety. However, rather than a more formal meeting, it was only the Empire that would reveal their investigation of what happened at the Moonlight Festival.

After all, humanity indeed gathered when there was a grave threat looming in their heads, but it was still too early for that, and this threat had yet to truly manifest. They also didn’t trust each other too much.

Some even only attended to show their faces and respect the Empire while also being pressured by their own citizens and having no choice but to do so.

The drive to the square had been smooth; the majority of the roads were closed, and it wasn’t allowed for normal citizens to enter the main square at this moment. They had the designated area at the far end, so expecting the people to listen and not attend the ceremony was impossible.

They could only do this and empty the main square; there were many world leaders and influential individuals that were attending, and it would put quite a strain on their security if there was a large crowd behind. No one would ever know what would happen, and they could only prevent anything from happening in the bud.

Arren watched the surroundings outside as their car passed by. His hands, which were still interlocked with Spade’s, started to fiddle with the alpha’s fingers.

As they were getting nearer the square, his anxiety was gradually returning, and he needed to distract himself.

A few minutes later, their envoy stopped, and they finally arrived. As his lips tightened and he became tense, Spade captured his attention by tugging his hand lightly and kneading it.

He turned and looked at Spade beside him in the backseat. The alpha’s eyes solely landed on him, giving him a gentle impression. Arren finally exhaled and tried to relax.

"Ready?" he asked softly.

He took a deep breath and finally nodded, "Ready."
