The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra
Chapter 106: Conjecture

Chapter 106: Conjecture

After Arren cried for some time and they embraced each other tightly, he pulled away slightly, lifted his head, and looked at Spade. His cheeks were soaked with tears, and even the corner of his eyes had some tears still in them.

Spade immediately wiped his tears and dried his cheeks for him with his hand, while the alpha’s eyes showed some conflicted emotions upon seeing his tears.

They were both also aware that crying really did help release the burden from Arren’s heart. It was also the reason that Spade didn’t say anything and let him cry to his heart’s content.

"I agree, I’ll talk to someone. Although, I’m not really used to trusting someone with my matters and knowing of my emotional state." Arren stared at the alpha, showing his sincerity, and agreed to his suggestion. A smile appeared on his lips.

Compared to his forced smile, Arren’s genuine smile was undoubtedly more beautiful, and it made everyone around him feel completely reassured. As he continued with his words, "I also want to try this time, and also... I know that a lot of people are worried about me."

Arren really wasn’t a fan of talking to someone he didn’t know, even if they were a professional. He knew that both parties or at least he, needed trust for the treatment to work; otherwise, no matter how many sessions they had, it was still useless.

However, he also didn’t want to be stubborn about this anymore. What happened really needed more consultation for his trauma since, no matter what, being caught in the middle of a battlefield where there was gunfire and dying men was enough for someone’s mentality to collapse.

He didn’t want his stubbornness to be the one that would haunt him later, so he wanted to try this method to at least reassure himself and those around him that the effects of what happened wouldn’t turn serious.

Arren never thought that seeking professional help was a shameful thing to do. It was also a way of caring for yourself.

Spade smiled and sighed in relief. It seemed the alpha was satisfied with his answer. After that, they talked again, and an hour later, Spade already needed to show himself to the public and had even prepared himself to deal with the aftermath of what happened. All the official matters needed his presence, and it was destined to be a busy day or even week.

Arren was left in the room as he didn’t want to go out, and for compromise, Rave was also allowed inside the bedroom to accompany him. The alpha was not convinced to leave him alone otherwise.

Since, it was the emperor’s bedroom, and a dominant alpha at that, it was a room full of his scents, and it was known that they were very territorial. Anyway, Rave was a recessive omega, and he had his scent blocker on, so it wasn’t really a problem.

While Arren was with Rave, his friend slash enemy, and Spade was on his way to his official study in the palace, his demeanor and expression had completely changed. From his soft aura to that of the magnified ruler.

His expression was calm, and yet the emotions within were only suppressed. Now that he could finally reassure Arren’s condition, it was time to deal with the matter that made him a fool.

His jaw clenched as his hands became so itchy that he had to move them. Spade’s back was straight, and the dominance he exuded was enough to envelope the room as he entered his study.

Different when, as with Arren, he swept his oppressive gaze at the people present and didn’t suppress the raging emotions he had. The people inside couldn’t help but shrink their necks slightly as they bowed upon seeing his figure.

"Your Majesty," everyone saluted respectfully. The ones inside were all part of the investigation team, and some of them were from the black intel. These were all the subordinates he trusted that he nurtured and appointed ever since he was a crown prince to this day that he was now an emperor.

He would meet them first before meeting the officials and higher-ranking nobles, and then he would have a meeting with the world leaders through online communications. As it was only a preliminary meeting, they needed to decide if conducting an official meeting of the world leaders was already necessary at this stage.

After all, while an emerging terrorist threat needed attention, at this moment it was only the empire’s affairs. Humans were as such; as long as they weren’t truly implicated, they would only wait on the sidelines and assess the danger of the situation.

Meeting them first indicated a strong attitude from him, the Emperor. He didn’t trust the nobles and officials too much. It was actually quite problematic and poison to someone’s rule if the monarch had already suspected his subjects of rebellion.

However, on the basis of his suspicions, it was all clear for everyone to see. The incident wouldn’t happen if no higher-ranking nobles were in cahoots with the organization. There was no way a force comparable to the size and range of a battalion could silently enter the empire without everyone’s notice.

Even though Spade was focused on the capital because of the upcoming opening and the event that Arren predicted, their forces were not in the capital alone.

"Give me the detailed information of all the statements of the captured men," After sitting in his seat, Spade didn’t beat around the bush, and his deep and dark voice immediately rang, making everyone straighten in their seats.

Soon after, the documents were given to him and put on his table. The statements all came from both the captured ones from the chaos in Capital Square and the ones that planned for Arren’s abduction.

They were scattered with three or even four teams, so it couldn’t be ruled out that some also escaped. Together with their other accomplices in the empire, the black intel and the officials were already doing a carpet search all over the capital and the empire as a whole.

He read them and only skimmed some parts, and flipped through the documents. Spade planned to read them more seriously later, but for now, he wanted to know something.

Why had the organization made such a huge sacrifice and commotion to abduct Arren? This was clearly not in line with their behavior so far. What made them spend so much and even risk so much?

This could only be because there was something in Arren that was so important to them, and the leader needed it desperately. Perhaps it was even something crucial to their plan.

His expression was tight as he flipped them through, he was anxious as it meant Arren’s safety was always under threat if the organization really placed importance on him.

He thought that abducting him before was related to the Duke blackmailing him using Arren. However, it appeared that there was a much more complicated reason.

Spade also thought that perhaps after knowing his relationship with Arren, the organization had set eyes on him to threaten him directly rather than through the Duke. He immediately rejected that idea, because if that were the case, they didn’t need to make a big commotion like this.

Rather than saying they wanted to use Arren to blackmail them, it appeared they really wanted him alive for something.

His eyes flashed as his hands stopped and his eyes focused on a sentence as he read it silently.

"He held the key."

Spade fell silent and became lost in thought.
