The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra -
Chapter 107: Pre-Heat
Chapter 107: Pre-Heat
Arren and Rave were the only ones left in Spade’s room. He was still in the bed and leaning on the headboard, while the white-haired omega was sitting in the seat that he had moved from its original position and was now beside the bed.
In the few minutes that passed, no one actually talked. Rave was reading something on the laptop that was put on the bed, while Arren, who forbade himself to look at his phone or social media because it might trigger him if he saw the news, was only watching the omega.
It was a bit uncomfortable for other people if they were stared at like that, but Rave was different. He didn’t have any expressions and only calmly used the laptop.
"Rave, what do you think of the event last night?" After a while, Arren shattered the peaceful silence and spoke. Although he had already become better because of his earlier crying, he was still not his usual self.
It seemed it would take a few more days before his mood truly improved and he returned to his usual self.
Arren didn’t know where Rave was last night, but as his identity was that of a royal attendant, he was probably in the palace. Even in the novel, which could only be referenced, the moonlight festival opening was only there to introduce Spade and the organization.
In response to his question, the other lifted his head, and their eyes met. He admits that sometimes the calm and sometimes always straight face of Rave wasn’t really annoying. It complements him really well.
"It’s something we haven’t expected, and an even worse scenario we can ever think of," Rave responded in a graceful, melodic voice that appeared softer than usual, and just as Arren’s eyes dimmed, he went on. "But at least the disaster didn’t escalate to even more innocent people hurting and dying. What happened wasn’t anyone’s fault; it was all the organization’s alone."
Although Rave was indirect, in Arren’s ears, he was more like saying it wasn’t Arre’s fault and he didn’t need to blame himself but instead put all his blame and anger on the organization that was the real culprit of the incident.
Arren fell silent, but he was really grateful in his heart. He knew that Rave wasn’t really an expressive person, so it was impossible for him to directly comfort him.
Their relationship with each other was quite good, but both of them didn’t really admit it on the surface and often made sarcastic remarks to each other. In a way, they both had a tacit understanding regarding this matter.
As for why they wouldn’t admit that they were clearly friends? He didn’t really know the reason, but Arren liked this setup. It was because having a true friend silently was better than all his so-called friends combined.
"Rave, you’re so beautiful today. And... you’re not annoy— I mean, you look so kind in my eyes right now." Arren nodded, and he complimented the omega, even ignoring the almost scowl that appeared in the other’s expression with what he said.
Everything would be good about Rave about him for today. Arren discovered that truly having a friend when you’re down really helps. although, he could only claim Rave as his friend in his mind!

Time passed unknowingly with even more matters that needed to be dealt with. In the blink of an eye, four days had passed. During these four days, Spade was so busy that Arren could only see him late at night or even when he woke up in the morning.
For this, Arren was so understanding that he didn’t demand anything from the alpha and reassured him. His mood had also quickly improved, and he had already talked to a professional; fortunately, his condition wasn’t too serious to require a prescription for medicine.
However, he still forbids himself from looking on social media for his mental health and as advised by his psychiatrist. They only talked about the incident, as even though she was trusted enough by Spade to be his doctor, that didn’t mean Arren also trusted her.
The commemoration ceremony for the fallen in the incident was also held with the promise that they would be given justice by the empire, which came directly from the Emperor’s mouth.
So, this year, the Moonlight Festival was destined to be much more solemn and didn’t have the same festivity as before. Even the nobles who loved banquets knew that they didn’t need to be extravagant in these times; otherwise, they should be prepared to be criticized.
Arren also talked with his father and knew that the banquet that the Katz Mansion always planned would not proceed. Like everyone else, Duke Evan was even less in the mood to celebrate.
The investigation of various departments was also heavily emphasized, and as he was informed, it was also secretly investigating the noble families. It was a secret since Arren was certain there would be a lot of nobles who would criticize the order.
As for him, Arren was only inside the room. He wasn’t really being stuffy or bored. Since he didn’t really have the mood to go out. Particularly, for his safety, it was necessary that he not go around too much.
However, this time, Arren felt especially hot. Although he knew that the room was well-ventilated and he had already increased the temperature, it was still warm for him.
He knitted his brows and gently stroked his neck; he was a bit irritated by this hot sensation that he also wanted to strip himself, and he began to see his clothes as an eyesore.
"Should I strip naked?" He muttered inwardly before shaking his head. What if someone enters the room who isn’t Spade? That would be close to impossible, but it wasn’t really impossible.
He felt so sluggish that he wanted to lie down and sleep, but also his dry throat was beginning to ache. What the fuck? He was still parched despite drinking so much cold water.
Something was wrong with him. However, he was too lazy to think about the fact, and he was becoming lightheaded. He stood up from his seat and then walked around the room as though he were finding something he didn’t know about.
He knew he wanted it, but he didn’t have any idea what it was about! After a few minutes, he sat in the bed, becoming more irritated than before.
"I miss Spade," Arren pouted and muttered in a low tone. He was missing Spade so much that he was going crazy. Was he being neglected? No! He was really busy! But he wanted to see him so much.
Afterward, his eyes became half-lidded as he turned and suddenly buried himself in the pillow that Spade was using. He became drowsy, and the hot sensation he was feeling intensified—even the way he wanted to see Spade so much was already messing with his mind.
He was becoming drowsy as he sniffed the scent and pheromones left on the pillow. It only took a few minutes as he sat up, holding the pillow with his hand, with almost blank, misty eyes, and his eyebrows furrowed. Discontent filled his eyes as he muttered something only understandable to himself.
"Not enough, this scent is not enough."
As though muddleheaded, Arren walked through the closet and opened it. He snatched one of Spade’s clothes, sniffed it, and then frowned.
"No scent, not enough."
After saying that, he came to the place where his and Spade’s used clothes were located. He stopped in his tracks and then looked at them, as if mesmerized. He picked it up and scent it, and a smile of satisfaction appeared on his lips.
"This is it," he muttered, eyes becoming blank as he spoke again, "Alpha..."
