Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Yandere side

Blair sighed as he saw the masked man seated at his desk. Calmly, he walked over and sat down across from him.

"Luke, you nearly gave me a heart attack, I thought some church agent was sitting here."

The figure remained motionless. When he spoke, his voice was cold, distorted and inhuman.

"Blair. Jack and I told you back then—we needed to take action against the Church. But you stopped us. And now? Jack is dead. He was the only one we had with strong political ties."

Blair narrowed his eyes at the familiar voice, now tainted and strange.

"Luke... What happened to your voice?"

Luke leaned forward, eyes burning with anger through the mask.

"Stop the bullshit, Blair. Answer me!"

Blair sighed, rubbing his temple with a weary hand.

"Luke, you don’t understand. You don’t know the High Priest’s power. I do—I’ve experienced it firsthand. We’re no match for him."

Luke slowly leaned back into his seat. A twisted, unnatural giggle slipped from his lips.

"Heh... heha... hehehehrrrres..."

Blair stared at him, unsettled by the grotesque sound, he felt urge to run hearing his monstrous voice, sweat start appearing on his forehead.

"L-Luke... What’s wrong with you?"

Without responding, Luke pulled off his gloves, then slowly removed his mask.

Blair’s eyes widened in shock. He rubbed them, hoping it was a trick of the light.

But no—it was real.

Luke’s face was no longer human. Grayish, reptilian scales now covered his skin. His eyes glowed faintly, and his jawline had sharpened into something monstrous.

"D-Did the medicine work?" Blair asked, almost whispering.

Luke gave a slow nod.

"Yeah. And not only did it work... it worked better than expected."

Blair frowned.

"What do you mean by that?"

Luke extended his hand across the table.

"See this?"

Blair tilted his head, eyes focusing on the elongated, blackened claws growing from Luke’s fingertips—nails like blades.

Luke smirked darkly.

"These are werewolf claws. I successfully absorbed his power."

Blair shot to his feet in disbelief.

"You mean... the werewolf we captured from the Amazon jungle?"

Luke nodded slowly, admiring the weaponized tips of his own fingers.

"Yes. I didn’t just study him. I became him."

Blair gulped, unease creeping deeper into his chest as he rubbed his hands together nervously.

"Did you... did you gain all of his powers?"

Luke nodded with pride, his monstrous features twisting into a satisfied grin.

"Yeah. And not just his. I spliced in crocodile DNA during the medicine fusion process. and when i inject it I absorbed their traits too."

As he spoke, a gleam of madness shimmered in his eyes—hungry, wild, unstable.

Blair’s voice dropped, cautious.

"C-Can you still turn back into your human form... or not?"

Luke shook his head slowly, almost mockingly.

"Why would I want to?"

"That weak, fragile body—who needs it? This..." He raised his clawed hand, admiring the deadly curve of his gray nails.

"This is perfect. With a single strike, I can destroy anything. Anyone."

A manic laugh escaped him, echoing through the dimly lit office.

"Hahaha... Anything, Blair!"

Blair took a subtle step back, trying to steady his breathing. The man—no, the creature—in front of him wasn’t the same Luke he once knew.

In Deep Space

Shiva stood silently, gazing into the swirling expanse of stars. Beside him, Vishnu hovered calmly, arms crossed, his expression serene.

Shiva turned his head slightly, his voice deep and contemplative.

"Vishnu, we have stopped the Puppet Demon... but now, a similar power is in the hands of a human. and we cant manifest there directly to take his skill, we may not be able to stop what comes next."

Vishnu shook his head slowly, his tone as calm as the void around them.

"Do not worry, Shiva. Though that human heart may already be touched by darkness, it hasn’t made him a demon. He will not bring ruin to humanity."

Shiva’s eyes narrowed as he looked forward again, doubt weighing on his voice.

"I’m not convinced. Even an ant, given enough power, will be called a monster. And when that ant hears the hatred of the world... it may eventually become one."

Earth – Lucien Mansion

The sky above was shrouded in dark clouds, hiding the stars from view. Inside Zara’s bedroom, the atmosphere was calm and warm. She leaned back against the bed’s headboard, holding both of her sleeping wives close. They rested peacefully, using her arms as pillows.

Zara gently ran her fingers through their hair, a soft smile on her lips as she admired their tranquil faces.

Suddenly—

[Ding! Sign-in refreshed.]

Zara blinked at the unexpected notification.

"A month already passed? I didn’t even realize..."

She mentally confirmed.

’Sign in, System.’

[Ding! Sign-in complete.]

Zara read the description and blinked in disbelief.

’Isn’t this more of a curse than a reward?’’If I use it... I could lose everything. My emotions... my heart... my wives.’

She looked down at the two sleeping faces nestled against her arms, their expressions so soft and content.

’No... I won’t let myself use this skill.’’I’d rather be weak than become a monster. If I lose my emotions... what kind of wife would I be?’

Suddenly, Zara felt a gentle tap on her arm, pulling her out of her thoughts. She looked to the side.

"Grace? What’s wrong? Why aren’t you sleeping?"

Grace shook her head softly, her voice calm.

"No... I just woke up. But something’s bothering you, isn’t it?"

Zara looked down, her fingers tightening slightly around the blanket.

"Dear... I wanted to ask you something."

Grace tilted her head, noticing the tension in Zara’s expression.

"Of course. Ask, wife."

Zara took a slow, deep breath.

"What... what would you do if one day I became emotionless? If I couldn’t love you anymore?"

Grace sat up immediately, her eyes wide in shock.

"W-Why would you even ask something like that?"

"I’m just curious," Zara replied, trying to sound casual despite the heaviness in her tone.

Grace stared at her for a moment—then lowered her gaze, her voice barely a whisper, eyes shadowed.

"Do you really want to know?"

Zara hesitated, then nodded slowly.

Grace leaned in slightly, her voice so low it was almost inaudible.

"...I’d tie you up and make sure you never leave me."

Zara blinked.

"What was that?"

Grace smiled sweetly and shook her head, her tone light again.

"I said I already answered. No second time. But don’t worry—my love for you will never disappear."

She gently kissed Zara’s chin, then lay back down beside her with a content sigh.

Zara stared at the ceiling, hand on her chin, eyes narrowed in confusion.

"...What exactly was she muttering just now?"
